I have the same car in convertible Rebel Green with Chesterfield Malt interior. This is a really fun car to drive and the build quality, fit and finish it top notch.

I didn't know there was hate on the tail lamps? I think it's a very distinctive design.

If you get the optional active cruise control, it will also include an electronic parking brake.

If I wanted to do a good review, first thing would be to clean the car parts, that will be shown in the video…

Nice video with room for improvement.
But that price comment? When do you comment on a Porsche saying: you can get away cheaper! This is a luxury hatch-back. We don‘t talk prices, we talk fun. Or when was Ferrari a rational decision?
The build quality of the F56 series is up high with other premium manufactures and the engine problems of the N-series engines have been sorted out (wasn‘t that way with the R-series though). The F-series Mini has matured and is now a solid car for years to come - it‘s already in production for nearly a century in this configuration.
You confused some details - not commenting all of your opinions:
    1) You should mention, that the lower front grill is not stock. Especially if you go close-up and show the viewer. Looks like an AC Schnitzer or AliExpress part.
    2) The suspension has been LOOSENED compared to previous models. It is only stiffer than the S or standard Cooper version. But more comfortable now to even do roadtrips. It also depends upon your tires. The 18 inch tires are normally run-flat from the factory are therefore even stiffer with less grip, than the 17 inch wheels.
    3) The spoiler dips, because of the antenna getting in the way if you open the back.
    4) The dual exhaust is only for show. There is actually only one exhaust pipe, that is doubled at the last part for looks.
    5) The previous version had the lights fixed at the chassis before too - nothing special here. But the dampeners. Name anoother car that has dampeners keeping the hood open in this price range?
    6) The leg bolstering is only suitable for smaller or slimmer drivers. It can be quite uncomfortable on longer rides Definitely test drive!
    7) The easter egg only applies if you hold the toggle switch until the lights flash, then it starts.
    8) Volume controls on the left of the steering wheel? Why? Because you want to increase the volume of the radio while shifting? BMW did a great job placing the buttons this way: if you are shifting, the only thing you also might want to do is control the driving features. Most other companies do this as well - actually don’t know about a company having volume control on the left… Completely moot point.
    9) Driving modes: the car does not „feel“ more sporty it gets more sporty! Huge difference: Normal and Sporty stiffen the ride and the gas is more direct. Also the steering wheel needs less rotation to go into a curve. The sound is piped into the cabin ad louder. All things you should have mentioned.
    10) Acceleration is instantaneous, also with the paddles. Check the torque and the corresponding rev: at 1450 rpm! In what world is that not instantaneous? Most motors need to rev higher to get enough torque.
And the automatic is not a CVT (oh my god!!!) but a DSG = double clutch. With a CVT you would not get that acceleration… Honda still uses CVTs drive one and you will understand the difference.
    11) LoL. Every car can be an enthusiast‘s car - because an enthusiast is not looking at specs, but is enthusiastic about something - that‘s the definition of it.
    12) Interesting recommendation with the options: you did not mention any option. So no recommendation at all. Haha. Okay, you recommended the Harman Kardon in the beginning. I would definitely opt for H/K, panoramic roof and the adaptive LED lights. If you drive on bad roads either get the adaptive dampeners OR take the standard and buy some 3rd party parts. If you want less track driving and more road trips, opt for the leather seats (e.g. Mini Yours) they are softer and extremely comfy - although I can do a 5 hours road trip with the Dynamica/ Leather sport seats, but your mileage may vary.
The HUD unit is subpar - you can save some bucks omitting this.
But like your checkered shoes matching the checkered theme of the JCW!
I do own the Cooper JCW 2023 and it is by far one of the most fun cars I drive. The Porsche 911 feels a bit more direct, the Volvo XC90 is so much softer and the Toyota GR Yaris has a better acceleration on the first 15 meters because of All-Wheel drive. Also the VW Golf R is quicker - but more expensive when ordered with the same options as the MIni („full house“) and feels so disconnected from the driving feel.
Not everyone is made for driving a Mini.
Nor does it appeal to everyone.
But those who do drive a Mini truly love their car and are extremely loyal to the brand.

Hello. I love Mini Coopers and am planning on getting either an S or JCW automatic. I would like to keep the car for a very long time but concern on the long term reliability. According to Forbes, it’s one of the 32 cars not to purchase because it will not last 100,000 miles. As an owner, do you disagree with their statement?

      Hi,
It very much depends on the model series. The new F56 JCW has no known problems at all and I highly recommend, if you like Mini.
The cars build before the F-series, which means build before 2014, had engine problems. This is all worked out since the F-Series. The F56, the one in the video, has been build and improved for 9 years now. They are reliable.
Build quality has been getting slightly cheaper since 2020, but is still better than other brands, though, and you only realise this if you owned previous mini generations.
I drove all my last Minis for over 80,000 miles. No unexpected issues. But I had all maintenance done as required y BMW! If you just want a reliable workhorse, get a Toyota.
Just make sure you change the oil every 6,000 miles. BMW says otherwise („long life oil until 18,000 miles“), but if you plan on driving a car that long, you better take care of the engine. Change especially after the first 6,000 miles - something a car mechanic can explain and it applies for all cars.
Also, always wait for the engine to get warm, so the oil can flow and lubricate all moving parts. And - if you ever drove on a racing track you already know - if you drove very fast or with high rpm, give the engine at least a minute to cool down, by driving at normal speed. Otherwise your turbo will die. Again, general advise that applies to all cars.
All in all: Minis build after 2019 reliable and fun to drive.
      Hope that helps.

@@kairoborock6816 hello. Thank you for responding. I’ve been doing my research and it says that the newer models have a reliable engine, except for the parts since they’re made of plastic which cost a pretty penny in the long run. If I can find slightly used 2022-2023 JCW would be awesome. The brand new ones are close to $47K.

@@leom00n79 Your research is absolutely correct. My mechanic was already shaking his head when he saw my "old" Cooper from 2019 saying that BMW made mistakes they had already fixed in the past and were going backwards with their engineering. BUT that 2019 model lasted 4 years and 67,000 miles. It had a hole in the oil sump when I sold it - the sump is made of plastic 🤦‍♂ Everything else held up pretty well and looked like new.
The piano black interior is prone to fingerprints especially on the steering wheel, the buttons are on one plate and often I active the speed limiter instead of adaptive cruise control, the new led colours are not everyone's taste, and you really need to take care of the engine (stick to the servicing intervals or go lower) - but all of the Minis I drove have never let me down.
If you look for a reliable quality car it should be either Toyota or Mercedes, that's at least what Scotty Kilmer says (he's on CZcams, too). One example for the Mercedes: all car brands have paint on the car. But the more paint you spray on, the more expensive it gets. So car brands try to use the least amount possible. Mercedes seems to use double(!) the amount of paint for a car, than most others. Some cheaper brands have a layer of less than 90µm of paint. The less paint you got, the easier it is to scratch the car and the sooner it's going to rust.
Have a fun ride with whatever car you choose!
