- I love cooking Curry Chicken (or Chicken Curry lol) with my mother-in-law, Mama Felician, while reminiscing on Gerd's childhood stories. From Trinidad to the Bronx, it has been a journey!
For you to really get to know me, I feel like you need to know the start of my Co., my incredible husband, Gerd Seneca Alexander.

It’s mama saying “guhl if anyone deserve any ‘ting, it’s YOU”! Jesus I felt that in my soul. When a Caribbean mother pays that kind of compliment, it carries SO MUCH WEIGHT”🙌🏽🙌🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽. Glory to God🙏🏽💕🥰
🥲🥲🥲♥️♥️♥️ ufff I was trying to hold it together
Right the ultimate blessing like I gave my son to you!
Legit 😭
I have to agree… West Indian moms don’t necessarily pass out compliments Willy nilly … I teared up!
My god this had burst tears!
Listening to Gerd’s mother, I can see why he chose Claudette to be his wife. They both share similar qualities. Beauty, Grace, Elegant, Strong.
That is the highest compliment … thank you so much 🥲♥️
Say that again 🎯
I can’t get enough of this family. Gerd’s mother acknowledging Claude's sacrifices is everything. May God continues to bless your union and your entire family ❤️
Thank you so much ♥️🙏🏼
Thank you Claudette for accepting Gods direction to become a CZcamsr and tell your stories. You have no idea how many lives you’ve touched by just being yourself and I am one of them. May God continue blessing you and your family. May you all continue walking in the purpose ordained for you.
Say that 1 million more times! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Wow… 🥲♥️🙏🏼 thank you! I receive that!

For a suegra to say she is grateful for her daughter in law and that she deserves anything good in life is...wow. Says lot about the wonderful woman she is, both of them ❤️.
Thank you ♥️🙏🏼
Fellow trini here 🇹🇹 and I loved this!! Seeing our culture shared is heartwarming. Hearing Gerd’s story is a reminder that no matter the circumstances if you dream big, work hard & pray it’ll all work out ❤️
Thank you so much ♥️♥️♥️🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
As a child of immigrants, I literally cried throughout this whole thing. Thank you for the inspiration. ❤️❤️❤️
As someone who has been raised in the Bronx, hearing Gerd and his mom calling out the different places in the Bronx and how they moved up, it means the world. You all are testaments of what we all can achieve. God bless!
🥲♥️ amen
Thank you and God bless you and your family 🙏🏽
What great episode !!!
AGREE & SAME!! 🥺 Uptown kid here, my heart was bursting with joy & pride with this episode. From Gun Hill, to 211, to 219 - if you know, YOU KNOW 🙌🏾❤️
Yes amazing
CZcams needed this channel! Claude and Co I can’t get enough! I love the way you love it other and how it shows! Honestly, this is a fresh of breath air, and I thank you for letting us into your lives! Gerds mom is so beautiful, and when she speaks she has such a Godly way of speaking! Will we meet Gerds siblings in another episode? It would be interesting to hear their stories too! ♥️
Diana, thank you so much ♥️ She sure is…
That’s a great idea and yes that’s the plan. We have quite a bit to roll out … so exciting.
One day soon!
That prayer at the end gave me goosebumps. Nothing like a praying mom. What a heartwarming video, just what we need in these times. Keep it going Claude & Co.
Karen, thank you so much.
The way our immigrant Caribbean family members hustled is so admirable. Takes a level of strength I don’t think I would be able to exude. I praise God for them😭🙏🏽♥️♥️
♥️🥲♥️
I love that Gerd's native Caribbean "accent" comes out a bit stronger as he's speaking with his mother. :)
I usually neverrrr comment but this was so so beautiful. I smiled, I laughed, I cried. Jett is a very special child, the way she’s listening so intently and the questions she asks you can tell she’s really absorbing everything and these moments will truly shape her
Thank you for taking the time to comment. ❤️
♥️🙏🏼 thank you
The frame with you and both of your moms! Whew! The strength, the power, the elegance the ancestral wisdom of these two women...beautiful! This whole episode bought me warmth and tears please keep these coming this is food for the soul
This really encourages me to continue praying and standing in the gap for my husband and my children. God is faithful
Yes he is!! A faithful God.
Guyanese in the house 🇬🇾🇬🇾 and laughing everytime someone says "chicken curry"😂❤❤
Lmao 😂 ❤️❤️❤️
As a Trini I am loving this episode and I’m only about 10 minutes in - can’t wait to watch the rest. I was born in South as well, Point Fortin to be exact but I moved to London as a child, 28 years ago. These stories are so relatable, the food, the living conditions, the fact that my two brothers and I came here with my mum. The hard work, success and pure love from you and your family is inspirational. Sending you all the best wishes and hoping God continues to bless you all 💕🙏🏽
Loving this episode as well!!! Fyzo ppl in here! lol

I had to pause this so quick!!! As soon as she said they’d be cooking I knew it was something with Curry. It was either that or Pelau 🤣 but when Claude said Chicken Curry I was like noooooooooooooo 🤣😂😂😂 it’s Curry Chicken!!!
🤣🤣🤣 … I’m the worst 🤣🤣🤣… ohhh but some Pelau sounds so good! 🤤🤤🤤
I love how Gerd gets his accent when he speaks with his mom!!!! I love it
I cried so much listening to Gerd’s mom
Love the beautiful culture and people of Trinidad! There’s a Trinidad sisters from church that I love so much! 💕 Gerd your mom is lovely inside & out! Thank you Claude & Gerd for inviting us into your family and the beautiful stories you share! 😊
Gladys, thank you so much ♥️ and yessss the people and the culture- so beautiful! 😊♥️
The Curry Chicken vs Chicken Curry debate is always so funny, love from Guyana 🇬🇾
Claudette’s love for Gerd, her selflessness, hard work, goal setting, and praying family along with Gerd’s and his sibling’s support of education has created this beautiful, caring and successful family you see today. Both of your moms lived intensionally with God at the forefront and that seems to be what the both of you did as well when you decided to set the foundation for you life together. It’s a tear jerker of a story. Thank you for sharing and inspiring myself and others to live life a little bit better everyday.
Sandra 🦋
Sandra, thank you so much for sharing ♥️

Besos 😘🤗
This family is the true definition of FAMILY!!! The fun, the sacrifices made and the so many lessons to learn!!! I just wish some of us got the chance to have that!!!!
Gerd with "izz curry chicken gurl!" had me. Love, love, love this episode. Much love from us here in Trinidad. This the reality up until this day where we would migrate for a better living even though we may have a degree, home, job etc. We as Caribbean people are really hard workers once given an opportunity. God at the center we persevere.🇹🇹🇹🇹
🇹🇹🇹🇹❤️❤️❤️
Yessssss ♥️♥️♥️🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Loved this so much! Mommy needs to come back for more convos and make salt fish and bakes next time! Or better yet there can be a series with Claude learning how to make authentic trini dishes 🙌🏾
Yes!!
Love how the grandmom kept her Trini accent throughout the episode, u knw how some people leave to go to the states for a week and then come bk home talking Yankee!! Love this episode.
Lmao!!!
Gerd’s Momma is so beautiful! I can feel the love & respect you all have for one another! & the warmth & openness you all share! Everyday you are looking more like Momma Nilda! Tell Jet to not grow so fast! 🤗❤️

He looks JUST LIKE his mama! She’s GORGEOUS
As a Trini, I appreciated this...I went to Moruga recently and it is really behind God's back no lie.
😂😂😂
She’s a beautiful wise woman, a warrior for raising her children and prioritizing them over herself. I love her energy and storytelling. She reminded me a lot of my own grandmother and her ability to sell anything to keep food on the table.
Is it awkward for me to say, it feels like home here?? 😄 Absolutely love your channel Claude.
Not at all. Thank you!
Yes that’s Jerd. determine from a young age.And still is. Awesome friend great husband and father. Mom great woman of God. Very special family.

I love how his accent keeps coming in and out. My favorite is when he says tank :)
Bronxite here ❤️ so excited to hear about Gerd’s beginnings in the boogie down, the place that raised us and had us wanting for a better life! And yes 211th, Gunhill Rd and and White Plains have the best West Indian grocers mama ❤️ We need mama back for some of that Roti or doubles lol or perhaps a vacay episode from Trinidad or Tobago. Love your Channel
We need a cooking segment with Gerd's Mom. Love, Love her!! 💜 The Alexander Family is what you call the American Dream. The way you plant the seed, that is how it grows. Kudos to them! The prayer in the end was the cherry on top. Amazing! 🙏
I like that you have your kids listen it explains why they're very aware of themselves and the people around them and how expressive they are.
Wow thank you so much ♥️♥️♥️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

As Proud Trini and young Attorney this was an inspiring episode!!! ❤❤❤ 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 loved seeing our culture represented and being appreciated..heart warming
Omg you guys! Such an amazing story as I'm a trini girl myself. You guys owe the girls and Claude a trip to Trinidad so that they can see that we've come a long way and no longer use latrins haha. Mama made me cry when she said if anyone deserves it is Claude, such an awesome relationship they share, its inspiring.
❤️❤️❤️.
♥️🇹🇹🥲 … and yesssss we sooo have to go back to Trinidad! Jet has been but Beau, my youngest, hasn’t … hopefully soon! We will definitely do an episode on that … hopefully in the near future.

Lmfao Gerd when he busts out the accent I love it!!!
Claude, this was another excellent conversation. It is wonderful to share the family culture and traditions with your children. What beauty and grace of Gerd's mother. You all have so much love and respect of each other culture. What a gift to each other, the world, and the universe. Wow! what a teacher you all are -- you make us so proud to be human. Blessings and Love.

Heart warming story love the Trini representation 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹.
Beautiful. I wish I had that kind of relationship with my mother in law. All I ever received was criticism and insults. We're both Christians and my faith surely was tested. May God always bless your family and may his peace and wisdom remain abundant in your lives. I'm really enjoying, learning and being blessed by your channel content.
I’m from Jamaica 🇯🇲! So refreshing hearing the Caribbean accent
Gerd's mom is lovely! I love the togetherness beautiful both families.👍
Gerd’s Mom: We were moving on up.” This reminds me of The Jeffersons comedy show theme song 👏🏿👏🏿. I really, totally enjoyed this episode ❤️
It’s the “Bacchanal” for me. Love seeing it!! Fellow Trini here, went to high school in Princes Town. Trinidad is beautiful 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹

My parents are from the Caribbean and I know firsthand that the Caribbean produces nothing but intelligent and very hardworking people. Your story Gerd is very inspiring.
Breh, the way Gerd’s mama spoke to Claude ❤️😩🥰. Beautiful! Nothing like someone looking out for/taking care of your baby when you can’t.
Please bring back mom’s again 😅😘, love you guys. Thanks to Adrienne for introducing her family to us.
Gerd''s mother reminds me of mines. Always reminding us how good we have it now. Always tell us about the struggles they had as a child 😂I still dont believe they toat any water, but they had it hard. Thank God for change
Roy is the real MVP. This shows that to succeed we need to help each other as a family, as friends, as a community. Let's lift each other up. Help when we can. If you know something that can help someone always share.
Say that 1000000 more times. 🎯🎯🎯🎯
Fellow Guyana 🇬🇾 and Trinidad 🇹🇹 immigrant here! Love this little slice of home.
Blessings to you all! Gerd, your Mom is definitely a true Woman of God, and I pray God continues to bless her with many more years of greatness!!
I am Literally 8min in and I already love love love Gerd’s mom. She is reminding me of my aunts 💕 like your children I am of West Indian and Hispanic descent
what a journey, God is so so good!! this was so relatable for me because of commonalities that we share...
- I have a trini step-mom + 4 of my siblings are trini + with being from boston, I was exposed to a lot of trini culture
- living in the hood (I've witnessed gun hill road a few years back + I can only imagine how it was back in the day) + not growing up as fortunate as some other children
- andover, ma
- the ivy league (I worked at harvard, one of my sisters still work at harvard + my teenage brother was named as an emerging leader by one of harvard's graduate schools)
- growing up pentecostal (I'm black but I grew up in a puerto rican pentecostal church)
- witnessing a mom with children manage to go to school for a better life
thank you for sharing so many sides of your family with us 🙏🏽. I'm so inspired by these stories + how God has worked everything together for y'alls good just as His word promises 🙏🏽💕. the more videos I watch, the more I want to adopt you as my titi 💕 lol. que Dios te bendiga siempre!
What a beautiful journey. As a fellow Trini 2D bone, hearing Gerd's mommy brings back so many memories. My Dad is from Curepe and my mom grew up in Belmont. All the Trini sayings bring joy to my heart and a smile on my face. Having a God fearing praying mother is a true blessing. Look at what the Lord did with all that determination. Love and Blessings 🇨🇦🇹🇹❤💞💕 🙏🏽🙏🏽😊😊
Claude! I was having the hardest day today. Mainly feeling a bit depressed and overwhelmed with my education. I'm an adult student back in school earning my Bachelors degree. I finally got my son to bed, he's one, and I had some time to sit and breathe before beginning my assignments, and watched this video. It was sent from God to me for sure. Hearing Gerds mom talk about her struggle as a student and mom of 6 living in the Bronx, and overcoming it all, and even Gerds struggle growing up and overcoming that and yours as well. As a young Latina trying to do right by her family and my son as a single mom, I literally prayed with yall at the end and I couldn't be more thankful for your channel and Adriennes channel! I look up to both of you and your families are truly incredible and inspiring to say the least! I want to thank you for sharing this video and Samantha who requested it!! I'm gonna get back on the bandwagon and do this work and get my degree and feel hope and God's grace through it all. May God bless you and yours always 🙏 ❤️ ~Victoria
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. God bless you and give you the grace to finish your race . Be bless 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
