  • How to KNOW if an ELECTRICAL resistance is DAMAGED Easily!! In this basic electronics tutorial video we are going to see how to know if an electrical resistor is damaged, for this we are going to see what the resistors are, what numbering they have on the board, what types of electrical resistors there are in both electronics and electricity and we are going to learn how know how to read the resistors by the color code, we are going to see a resistor of a single color in this case black that apparently seems to be in short circuit but not since it is a zero OHMS bridge type resistor, we are going to see several resistors of an electronic card and we are going to explain the procedure to know if the resistance is damaged, we are going to see the 4-band and also 5-band resistors and I am going to explain which side of the resistance we start reading at the end we are going to see the results on the digital multimeter, we are going to find several colors that represent the first numbers, then a color that is the multiplier and finally we are going to see the tolerance that is normally gold or silver. I am also going to explain what we have to do if we find a damaged resistance and how to act accordingly. Time to replace it, let's see that although we can find damaged resistors that does not mean that by changing that resistance our card will work again. Sometimes if a resistor is damaged it is because it is receiving more current than it can withstand, in that case we must check the card to see if there is an internal short circuit or any other problem, since it may be cut, devalued or short circuited.
