- Craig Cook got Minnie his capuchin helper monkey five years ago when an accident left him in a wheelchair and a quadriplegic. We catch up to Cook to see how life with Minnie has been going. Video by Rod Veal Published on 2009-05-14
That is one tough guy. Takes a beating from life and comes out smiling brighter than most of us more fortunate than him.
he's got a monkey, what's there to be sad about.
@@pilbomags488The monkey died in 2020.
Minnie looks well fed and well cared for. Craig and Minnie make a good team. For the knockers the only difference from this and a dog helping it's owner is Craig has a need of some help more than others. Wishing Craig and Minnie well.
This looks like a cool idea, but do you think a store will allow a service monkey into there store. Stores hardly want a service dog even though it's legal in their stores let alone a monkey.
@@wilburmcbride8096 I don't know.
The monkey died in 2020. Good riddance.
I'm sorry that you got in a car accident but I'm glad that you're happy that you have Mini I think I spelled that wrong I'm just a 8 year old
Probably Minnie. Like Minnie Mouse.
This monkey looks funny with her teeth removed. It makes you think of grandma without her dentures.
Looks like a diabetic.
How do you stop her from eating all your good stuff?
Minnie is awesome
Human and his monkey helper, who could be against this. I bet there's one human activists hidden in the comment section that's against this, but at least the monkey has a purpose.
Your right. This monkey at least isn't getting abused and dressed up,drugged up in other videos. It has a good purpose in life.
immediately came looking for the comments.
Minnie's teeth have been removed, they are potentially dangerous animals. This is no critisim.
I know many many folks with monkeys. They arent potentially dangerous animals. Most raised with love, right care are very loving, incredibly smart and ate just like having a child. Please take your negativity elsewhere.
@@debstanton7711 Only because they have had their teeth ripped out.
@@321scully i know many monkeys who still have all of thier teeth abd are as sweet and are not one but mean or dangerous. Its all in the love and discipline care they get.
@@debstanton7711 ok so why do they remove the monkey's teeth?
@@321scully Probably because it's a wild animal and can bite the disabled person. They probably don't want to take that chance. My cousins teeth are removed because she's mentally ill and would bite people. Don't think this monkey is the only one who has his teeth removed for safety reasons. This is probably for safety reasons.
But they have to
Pull their teeth out? Program isn’t running anymore.
If a service animal can be so dangerous it's necessary to remove all it's teeth, it may not be suitable as a service animal.
So cruel to have their teeth removed
You must want the monkey to bite the disabled.
Yes, but capuchins can attack humans and are potentially very dangerous, her owner is very vulnerable and he must have a toothless monkey for his helper. The monkey is ok, it has a job for life and will always be cared for.
They pulled all of her teeth out. That’s why her tongue hangs out like that
Im going to apply for one!
Awe, but did they pull out all there teeth?

35k wtf
I thought you can’t one in California I need one I’m disabled
I’d rather have a nurse.
