Wet Sanding An Entire BMW E36 To Somewhat Perfection

- Have I been cleaning this car with a floor mop and broom for the past 6 months? Yes. Was I doing so because I knew this video was coming at some point? Also yes. Today, we wet sand and polish the BMW E36! I think this really did the Boston Green Metallic paint justice and the car looks really nice in my opinion. I also install the remaining trims and lights to give the car a somewhat finished look. You may think we are approaching the end with this car, buuuuuut. You would be very, very wrong. Boston green is a make or break color for the E36. If its not maintained well it makes the car look very bad. You really pulled out the max out of this color. I would have loved to see a walkaround in direct sunlight. Must be stunning in person.
There will be plenty more of the car man! But I completely agree, when this colour is tarnished it looks absolutely terrible haha

Good god man, I can honestly say that (imo) I haven’t seen an e36 build so on point since the creator of S/W, Mike Burroughs, posted his s54 powered sterling metallic E36 coupe on those 3pc AC Schnitzer Rennsport type 1’s on the forums 🤤 your build is now dead ass even with his haha easily tied for 1st place.

When I got my 46 I never really liked the 36 too much but damn they have grown on me it really is a beautiful progression from e30 to e36 to e46 and I’m a sucker for this green too. Great video as always man 🤙🏼

Top work on restoring this car it is a thing of beauty! I’m now a fan of the Boston Green with the BBS wheels. You don’t need to have M3 convertible if you’ve done the subtle mods such as what you’ve carried out! I have F36 Gran Coupe even I’m jealous of this car! Haha! Top work well done!

I run a shop, detail all day, then come watch you bang out a killer video and chase some boo-boos. Not very many ASMR videos out there like yours. Exquisite detailing entertainment. Advice for you -- look into the Flex PXE-80 cordless. 1", 2", 3" options with enough power to do what's needed in those tight areas. Rotary + DA. Better than the iBrid in many ways. The 2" backing plate and extension arm have to be purchased separately, third party, but I don't know what I'd do without it. Anyways, keep it up, my friend!

Boston Green Metallic is definitely one of the best colors from BMW -- looks great in full polish!

Hey! I tried my best following your steps on wet sanding, compounding and polishing my e30. However, after shining light directly on the paint I noticed all the scratches I made while wet sanding. I’m wondering should I hit it with more aggressive compounding, or go back at it with 3k wet sand followed with compound?

Seems like a extra step. Why not just heavy compound? And/or just sand defects.
Thanks for watching Theo! So this car has been resprayed in different areas so I’m not entirely sure how much clear is remaining. Sanding like this is an easier way to remove more defects without having to compound longer! Decreasing heat and the possibility of blowouts

Do you not have to clay bar? I am looking into doing this to my car but I need a set of steps I should take or u recommend
@@swoqz2526 for best results id advise a de-tar 1st then clay bar. He used 3000 grit wet sand paper. But I'd only do this if you really know what you're doing you could mess up your paint if you're not careful.
@@tomatoknuckles i was thinking of only doing a cutting compound and then a polish and finishing with a ceramic coat my paint doesn't have any deep scratches just really oxidized and little scratches from washing. Do you recommend?
@@swoqz2526 Yeh go for it just make sure to keep the pad damp while cutting and don't let it get too hot. Take it handy and you should be fine 👍
