I honestly expected more from it, but compared to the previous live action - it shines. Also one of the things I didn't like are that Ty Lee lost a bit of her difference with the other fire nation. You know, how in the show Ty Lee has brown hair and grey-brown eyes. She is different, separated and there are even theories that she is from the Air nomads.

I'm shocked that you don't have more views. I really enjoyed listening to your voice! Im not really a Star Wars fan so I hope to see more Avatar content :)

This series is a flop. And the real reason for that is that is is just a nostalgia bait. It's not a series remake, live action adaptation, or a reboot. It's literally all just a recap in live action. Think of the ember island players and how they all felt watching them half ass recap the whole series in a shitty play. That's what we got. Sure they were a little more faithful to the original, but all in all, this new live action "series" is just a compilation of little cameos and references to the original crammed together CHRONOLOGICALLY OUT OF ORDER without even giving us episodes long enough to start caring about the characters.
When I watched the original, I was worried about what was gonna happen if the fire nation gained the upper hand. When I watched this crap, I was only worried about how bad the next episode was gonna be.

I haven't labeled it "woke" but I will say that removing Sokka's initial sexism neuters his character and alters the dynamics between him and all other characters. The whole "Sexism bad" is kind of the point... we aren't supposed to be cheering for Sokka when he makes derogatory or insensitive comments. We're supposed to smile when he gets his comeuppance and be genuinely happy for him when he learns better. Sokka in Book 1 is arguably far different from the Sokka of Book 3. The impetuous, sexist brat with an inflated ego has become a brilliant leader who inspires trust in those around him. A person who can see the value in everyone's talents and try to utilize them best. He is a better character for it.
It also seems like Katara's character was changed to be all about fighting (Which sounds more like Toph), and removing her feminine qualities - like her motherliness and passion - also neuters her character. She becomes a bland "Girl boss" who is out to show up everyone else. I suspect that empowering Katara is more to blame for Aang's lack of learning to water bend in this season. I'm not saying she's the worst, but it removes a lot of her faith in Aang as the Avatar. Without Sokka's sexism, it changes her relationship to her brother, and him no longer saying 'women can't do' can no longer be a motivation for her to prove 'yes, she can'. Basically, the stereotypical "Strong independent woman who don't need no man" often comes at the cost of her male companions. If they do anything for her or to their own credit, that somehow undermines the woman and makes her inferior. Toph (I'm talking in the animated series) had to learn to rely on others when she was trying hard to prove her independence and ability to take care of herself. This made it difficult for her to rely on others; an arc that is now more suited to Netflix Katara who seems to have no need for others.
