- Not happy with this kill, made a couple mistakes and got lucky.
For some reason, this is the ONLY attempt where it didn't do a ranged attack immediately after the P3 initial lightshow. Not sure what that was about.
The triple lightshow has a weird bug where the 2nd and 3rd volley just sometimes don't spawn any projectiles (happens on the 3rd one here)
You can skip the scripted P2 and P3 openers by spawning the boss in in a few areas of the arena where it spawns above the ground and falls down, cancelling its attack. These areas are 100% consistent.
I really don't like this boss for no roll for a few reasons:
1. It can aim up into the sky with every melee attack, making it impossible to jump them. The aim thing is tied to the arena and can be mitigated through positioning and knowledge of where this happens.
2. The brambles can collide with nothing and explode under you. I don't understand what makes it happen or how to play around it, but I might be missing something. (And no, I'm not talking about it exploding while there are objects near you, that is fine. I'm talking when there are no objects and it still collides with something)
3. The arena completely breaks the game. For whatever reason the game eats a TON of inputs here. Here's proof: • input drops scadu This is from less than 2 hours of gameplay, and only jump input eats that cause me to get hit. There are also attack and lock on input drops, but those don't kill the attempt so I haven't clipped them. After that my input overlay stopped working (and I didn't notice until I got the kill)
4. Charge doesn't always seem dodgeable. I tested beast claws, CKS running attacks and jumps. It's dodgeable when near it or far away, but there's a midrange where it can't be dodged with these options. Might be dodgeable using a different weapon, but idk what that would be.

It's a bug (I assume). Sometimes on 2nd or 3rd explosion there's just no lasers, dunno why
@@mouseinatutu so is the jump still reliable? it seems quite tight for the final explosion.
@@Outofrealman It's pretty tight, and I failed it quite a bit, but I don't think it's unreliable as long as the timing is right

That the explosion in P3? It's a bit rough because there's no super obvious tell when exactly it's going to blow and the shots are delayed a little after as well. I was counting to 3 from when it started to glow just to have something to go on

Welcome back. This boss has some issues (most of the DLC bosses do to be fair), but I'm sure it's a lot better with rolls. Edit: I'm curious if you had the input drop issues that I did in this arena. (Clips in description)

@@mouseinatutudid you get any input drops on Messmer? For me after I roll sometimes an R1 wouldn’t come out. Might be a DLC thing 😅
@@Rbmukthegreat I haven't fought Messmer yet. I haven't had any issues outside of this boss, but it's been really bad here. Could be an issue with the new update as well? When did you have your issues?
@@mouseinatutuso far i havent experienced any noticeable input drops after dlc, playing through it multiple times, or any arena
The only thing ive noticed is more cases of crouching not properly dismounting torrent, I'll make sure to keep an eye out but I'm on playstation so it might just be platform specific

Also are the dropped inputs tied to performance because of all the shit in the arena?
IDK what causes the dropped inputs. Only happened recently and in this arena/patch. I can upload a clip, believe I have one saved.

Do you just look over the list of bosses and teleport to them?

As for your question: No, I always run to the bosses. I like seeing the scenery at least once :P

This is unrelated to the video but is there any way of dealing with Rennala's spirits without having to wait for them to despawn on no roll? She keeps summoning them and it's very annoying to deal with it, especially when she summons the dragon.
With greatswords (possibly other weapons as well of course) you can hit her with CR2s and force retaliation hits, which never lets her summon. It's not quite 100% safe, but good enough to easily get +0 f.ex.
Now, if you're looking to actually fight her summons: You want to run away from all the summons other than giant, which you can just run under its legs and it'll do its despawn combo. They all despawn once they do a specific attack/combo, the exception being wolves, I believe those are just on a timer. (I haven't fought her in a long time).
In my Rennala kill I messed up the strat by accidentally backstabbing her so it's a very long kill if you're interested in seeing summons wasting our time lol. Was done very early on in ER's lifespan though so it was done with greatswords before their big heavy attack speed buff (which made the heavy attack strat safer).
