Putrescent Knight RL1 No Roll/Block/Skills No Buffs/Aux/Blessing No Damage

- I was originally planning on doing this with the sunflower weapon, but you miss out on a lot of cool punishes with such a slow moveset.
I rather enjoy this boss. Has some... questionable hitboxes and a couple lingering ones too, but they're easy enough to play around once you know about them. It'd be mediocre if it wasn't for the cool combo where they separate, it's very fun and rewarding to dodge. There's also this one that I didn't get in the kill: • Other melee combo And those two carry the fight for me. There are some other strafes/ducks available in the fight, but I don't think they're very useful.
The way I do the punishes on the separation combo is quite precise, the final jump almost annoyingly so as any change in position will change how the skeleton and the horse track you so you might have to jump in different directions.
You have to be very careful on punishing the driveby, if you hit the side you'll get instantly slashed at (or horse stomped, but that one's avoidable)
The only RNG element in the fight is the boomerang throw. Unfortunately because the arena isn't flat it'll sometimes fly much too high to jump, though you CAN play around it and outspace. (Just as often the boss will just throw it below the stage lol).
Attempt got a little long because I didn't get any stance breaks.
the positioning and punishes on the spin/horse charge combo are so rad, especially where you jump over the horse. i also like this fight a lot, even though it seems like most people regard it as mediocre.
So far it's one of three bosses I like in the DLC: Rellana, Midra and this one. I've yet to fight Messmer, Romina, Metyr, Gaius and PCR though
@@mouseinatutu very interested to see your PCR, as it seems there are some moves that aren't possible for no roll, unless there are a ton of jumps you figure out while trying him out etc.
@@mouseinatutualso Metyr has a finger attack from her sides that I noticed if you hit her with a charged r2 before she does that move, holding an immediate second charged r2 will avoid getting hit by the attack. This was with the starfist and I didn't try to see if you can just r2 duck the move but it seems very possible
This boss is great once you know you shouldnt attack when he jumped off his horse

More combos that separated the 2 wouldve made this boss way cooler

0:24 you can jump here for a free jump heavy, every other attack in that combo can also be jumped consistently ( except the initial leap, which you space )
0:42 you can stay somewhat close after strafing the overhead so you can jump attack this followup, better punish

IDK what's a better punish than a charged heavy. You can actually walk under the slam too, but then he doesn't do the followup so it's worse. For the horse combo, if you can roll you can charged heavy the 2nd punish rather than tap, and roll in a better direction for punishing after. Punishing as he gets up on his horse is very scary for no roll because he can do overhead or another horse combo immediately which my shitty reflexes struggles to dodge
@@mouseinatutu yeah thats fair. for the low sweep, it seemed to me like you were doing a regular heavy instead of a charged one, thats why i mentioned the jump. for the horse combo its still worth it to jump over the second attack in the combo with a jump heavy ( the one after the leap ) because the second one misses anyway and you have enough time to run from the horse. maybe you'd actually get a stance break then haha
@@keskorian5820 I've checked the table, 2 r2s is 29 poise, while 1 jump r2 is 24 poise. So it's definitely better to do those ( 5 poise and 7-800 damage). This is assuming you can outspace 3rd part and still get the r1 after like I (try) to do in this kill rather than double jump like in your clip video as I assume that was just to showcase the jumps working.
Your jump r2 on the three slashes combo I'll try to remember next time I do a PK kill though, that looks nice.

My savior! This boss is fucking elusive and I couldn't find any reliable openings expect for the horse combo(Was using fists).
Some range is nice
i use golem fist jump r2's and simply erased him. standard attacks always freeking whiffed though unless I was in super deep.

Very impressive but isnt the red feather talisman a buff? Along with the shield?
All talismans are a sort of buff, but I (and most of the challenge run scene) consider buffs to be separate from talismans or equipment. Buffs in this case being anything temporary from consumables, spells or skills.

If you plan to do Gaius I saw a clip on twitter of Radagon hitting Gaius during his charge and him getting stunned. Similar to the fallingstar beast charge. I have yet to see a player try to do it, so I don't know if it's actually possible. And I can't confirm since I didn't back up my save file but that could make it possible to do Gaius no roll if it works.
(nvm there is another counter to the charge no roll but I am really curious about it working)
Actually it's from the video "Can ANY Boss Survive Commander Gaius? - Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC" and it was Radagon's projectile parry. But I'm assuming it was the hitbox from the parry that stunned Gaius and he didn't actually parry it.

Why does he moves so slow when doing the rolling attack. When I play him seems like he is going way faster. I guess seeing in a video is different.

To me it also feels unreal watching the video. But probably it's just about focus. I'm sure the speed is the same. Since when playing the game it takes all my mental strength just to stop myself from pressing the buttons too soon.
