  • HOW TO Flex Seal and Homemade Squirrel Baffles using Flex Seal
I have been an avid reader of mostly Science Fiction and Fantasy based novels. I have decided to pursue my dreams of writing in the same genres. This will be one of many avenues I am looking at for on the road revenue.

Nice... I built my own from two thin sheets of galvanized steel overlapped a bit and bolted together, made a hole for the feeder post then installed a stop ( SS hose clamp holding a split PVC tube) under it at the right height and have a squirrel proof shield. Cheap, easy and reliable. No paint required.

Good idea, I had contemplated some kind of metal as well but had no pieces to cut and did have the old sled.

I know this comment is from long ago, at the time for some reason CZcams would not let me respond then, but it is now. I used a hose clamp to keep the baffle at the height I needed, hope that helps.

That is one possibility, lol. However I like the video where someone put petroleum jelly on the pole and the squirrel just kept sliding back down, very amusing and entertaining.

I have the solution to the squirrels. 1/2 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup cornmeal, 1/2 cup all purpose flour, 1/2 cup sugar. Taste like chicken.

...Flex Seal is expensive and not needed bro. Buy some rigid, bendable plastic, cut a large circle (16" or 18" diameter), then a slot to the middle, to the hole in the center cut to what ever size post you are workin' with, make a cone, fasten it with what you got, duct tape, staples, screws, small nuts and bolts whatever......done, under $3

    • @drew-shourd

I don’t get it; why are you spraying these with black paint every year in the first place? Looks like they were originally green. Don’t like the color? Seriously, I’ve never heard of anybody painting them every year. The ones that we have are just black plastic.

    • @mobilehomelife4028

I spent too much on the so called squirrel baffles, none worked. The only think I could find were these bright colored sleds, so I paint them to blend in better outside. Over time the paint chips off due to weather.

Forget those ugly baffles , just buy spicy 🌶 bird seeds . Squirrels will NOT eat it, but it’s ok for birds , research or look up spicy bird seeds , it’s more costly than regular bird seeds , but you won’t be feeding the squirrels either
