Ka-Bar TDI Law Enforcement: A Great Knife For Close Quarter Defense

- trusurvival.com/ka-bar-tdi.html The TDI Law Enforcement Knife was designed to be used as a inlast option in knife. In extreme close quarters encounters where a suspect is attempting to take an officer's handgun, or the officer cannot access his/her handgun, the TDI knife is available. Designed as an off hand knife that draws like a pistol, the reversible sheath can be worn on either the right or left side of the belt.

3:40 What!? It was literally designed to stab... The designer himself points it out in his instructional courses. They layer clothes over dead deer to show that slashes won't do as much damage as stabbing will to clothed areas. That's one big reason why it curves forward like that, to put it in line with your arm to stab. You should know the products you sell.
It's designed nicely for stabbing but karambits are meant for that reverse grip, this blade would do some severe damage with the slashing. Imagine a dirty boxing type slash, or like in wrestling shoot in for a single leg takedown but instead use an upward slash through the thigh will cut the femoral artery which is only about 1.5 inches below the surface, a femoral artery cut will stop a person by itself, 2-5 minutes before death if they don't stop the bleeding so they can get emergency help.
Thank you for the good upload, very helpful.
If I may, I'd also recommend the CRKT Obake if you are worried about sheathing and what not. I really enjoy the concept of a lightweight concealable fixed blade affixed somehow on the belt for self defense. Just makes sense. I appreciate the vid mate and keep em coming.
I sold mine to a buddy LEO a while back for the same impracticality reasons. The way it's positioned, it tends to print a bit too much as an EDC blade. As a weapon retention tool, i.e. clipped behind a cuff case, it's perfect. May order another one as my ESEE Izula, while handier, doesn't do self defense anywhere near as well.
great review thinking of getting this knife
Great video
Well made video, i dont think i have seen one where the person covered in detail the features and uses of this blade and sheath like you have. I love the design of these knives great forward or reverse grip. The only way id like this more is if it had a blade on the backside for slashing in both directions
Parabéns pelo vídeo.
It's actually primarily a thrusting knife , ur more supposed to punch with it similar to a push dagger , cutting and slashing with a blade that small is rarely effective . Not saying it can't cut , just the thrust is far more effective with a smaller blade
Nice knife. I have two of the larger size that I carry just in front of my hip bones. One for each hand. Carry my pistol at 4 o'clock and spare mag at 9 o'clock. I'd hate to be the recipient of two of these things slicing me open. Great video.
@@kevinmorrice those are some harsh words coming from such a pussy. Come to the states and get yourself laid out on a stretcher, fool.
Where do you live that you have to carry two knives a gun and a clip? Goddamn u should move bruv
@@lexusvip4003 you act as though the US is the only place that’s violent, bruh go to Kingston, London, or Caracas or Natal and u might be on that stretcher
This video also sold me the jacket.. You need some kick back royalties bruh.. Lol
What brand is the jacket?
where can i buy that beard?
walmart
You grow them. Four years of MRE's should be fine.
what is your favorite everyday carry knife? thanks for the vid im looking into grabbing this one. Its under 3 1/4 inches im from MA and a blade for carry can be no longer that.
The larger TDI knife better?
Is Serrated TDI better? I realize answer may be personal preference, but what is your personal preference?
Nice jacket indeed. What's the brand?
Is this guy former military? He seems like it. Thanks for the review. I will buy this knife.
I eat apples with mine
Is this knife illegal to conceal carry in Michigan?
LIKE THAT HOODIE... WHERE YOU GET IT??
I bought one so I could have something on the days I walk to work. I’m waiting for it to show up in the mail so I can start having it on me. I can’t have a gun at work, but the TDI is okay.
I carry 3 pistols. Czp09 open in a shoulder rig. 2 xds on off hand and strong hand both concealed at 4 and 7.
bro
1 year later and we are still wondering who asked...
@@bwilcher9501 Probably in relation to using this knife as a backup if your dominant hand is injured or pinned down.
Why?
Patriot Arms and Outfitters in Tampa Fl. has that knife online for $10.49.
+Tea & Empire that was 2 months ago. maybe not now.
No they don't have that knife for $10.00, they carry a LIKE knife for that price not the KA Bar TDI.
Is the metal belt clip on this knife sheath meant to be worn facing towards the body or away from the body? Thanks
sheath goes toward the body
"It's worked great." You used it??

nice beard
I wonder if it makes a good beard trimmer🤣
This is a great option when you go somewhere (NEW JERSEY) that carrying a gun will get you 5 years automatically. 100% legal and will do the job close in.
ace iconia call the police?
@@my1125 "Excuse me, dear attacker, but may I ask for a time out from this particular attack session so I can call the police? Thank you ever so much..."

Anyone know if this will fit inside a waist band of your pants?
ASMR Operator Yep
Tru survival, do you even realize that this particular knife was DESIGNED to be a weak side carry for the purpose of firearm retention, ect?
Did you watch the video, he literally spent 3 mins of it on that use scenario
This tactibro shit has really become tiresome.
I used my to clean my my lil toe, I broke it.
Cops aren't the end all be all. I wouldn't follow what the police do.
How do you know it’s great? Have u stuck anyone with it? I bought one and a chunk of steel was missing from the edge about the middle. Something like 3 mm or so was gone from the edge, had to reprofile the edge, that and the sheath is practically junk. The clip is absolute junk. I can say this though...nothing beats a good old Gerber Mk II for cutting through jeans and meat.
LOL you're a tool. You bought it with a "chunk" of steel missing?! I've NEVER gotten a knife that had a "chunk" of blade missing. Why didn't you just return it and get a new one? Is it because you're totally full of shit? A Gerber MK II???? That's a 6.5 inch fighting knife you jackass! I don't see many people (nobody) EDC that thing. Learn what the difference is between what rolls knives are used for before you comment.
@@aceiconia7215 you know what’s better than an mkii? An RPG that’s my daily carry. I live in Kandahar :p
Make in Taiwan.
Enough said. Buy American made, the job you save may just be your own... Or your children's... Or your neighbor's.
+ZeroKills there are no illegal immigrants from Taiwan... How would they get here? Don't be ridiculous.
+ZeroKills your logic is lacking serious reasoning. Go troll another post.
Ever heard of "the candle maker's petition"? Look it up...
franky1l look it up yourself
Jason Adrienne Reeves I know what it is. I suggest you look it up, so you'll see why your economic point of view is idiotic.
