Hey there, so I just bought a hitachi-lg portable dvd player, downloaded their CyberLink Media Suite 10 disc, and am able to watch my homemade old 2000ish kids dvds on my laptop. I want to put these on my computer now and eventually on a USB or send them to my older kids. I see youre using a portable external dvd player also. Am I able to do this with the portable dvd player?

I have a series of BBC Drama DVDs in my collection which my brother and I really like, but none of the shows are on any streaming platforms that can be accessed outside of the UK. (I live in the States, my brother lives in Turkey.) Well, this solves our issue. Also, I must say I really enjoy the Windows98 vibe from the design of this software. I am looking to take my dvd movie and converting them in order to save on external storage device.
I have an external burner( dvd ) burner to rip the copy and save it on the desktop, but i need to format it to avi or mkv ( which is better to play from external drive to later watch on a tv) does this app convert the ripped or burned dvd file to avi or mkv and decode any possible blocks? If so is there a step by step tutorial and what is the cost and how long does the app work?

Thank you Stu, for your easy to understand video. I have a 2011 iMac, and successfully downloaded the winx software in the way you advised. I have loaded two DVDs. One a music DVD. The other, a TV series DVD. Both times I got "No Disc Found". I can hear the drive clicking away, but it will not load. After about 45 secs, it ejects the DVD.
I should note, that those same DVDs will not play on my iMac using Apple's DVD Player. Perhaps I should do what you do, and and buy myself a new DVD drive. When I eventually do get a new iMac, they no longer come with a Disc Drive anyway. I should add, that the iMac drive is able to play CDs, but not DVDs? Can you advise please. Thanks.
Thanks David. It’s really sounds like either the discs are at fault or the digital lens of your Disc player is faulty which is a very common fault on older machines, they have a lifespan (in my experience at least) so you could try and clean it. I would do a quick CZcams search on how to do that but maybe a new disc drive is the way to go. The good news is that if you need to buy a new disc drive it’s not that expensive only £15-£20. I’m sure I have a link in the description to a drive similar or the same as mine. The apple drive should read DVD’s if it’s the official usb version.

Officially I think the free offer was valid until the end of this month or it may have been sooner. The free offer had limited functionality thou if that makes you feel any better. Sorry about that.

Once it’s ripped and MP4 file it was just a simple case of making a DVD using your normal tried and tested method.

I’d love to help you but other uninstalling and reinstalling I’m out of ideas as that shouldn’t happen. Have you tried customer support? Is the dvd damaged in any way? I know dvd’s have a shelf life so is it happening on all dvd’s or just one?
H, once I download the movie digitally will I still have the 6 channel audio from the movie? I need that because I do movie editing and need to remove background music from the movie so it need to be 6 channel audio.

That entirely depends on your computers processor. Im afraid I can’t give a definitive answer on that. I was able to carry out normal tasks while it working away using my M1 Mac mini and I seem to remember similar when I was using my previous iMac which was a 2012 21imch imac.

Hello, I just encounter you tutorial and I found it amazing! Now I have a question? I want to put all my dvd collection on an extern harddisk. I have installed and bought(!?) several programs to do so but the only thing they do is that you got VTS files and everything is ready to burn it on an empty dvd, but that is not what I want...!!! I just want to have the entire movie and his menu(completely, trailers & subtitles) that I can merge & muxe like the original dvd and save it on an external harddisk and so I can "Stream" !!! Is it possible to do so with that program?
I have spent enough money till now or I am a stupid one not able to used those programs properly!!! You must always look on internet for the subtitles and sometimes it happens that it doesn't run synchro(another program to install) I freak out!!! Can you confirm me and do you have experienced everything what that program is able to do, otherwise it has no sense that I install it... Yes it can be done but it would be just one file and no menu as that is a dvd or Blu-ray attribute. If you want all the contents of the dvd you select all the files and also select merge. You will get one file which you can organise or arrange how you please on your hard drive.

I’m not to happy with having a large pile of DVDs I would like to make a back up copy and donate all the movies to local thrift store for newborns they help at hospitals! I just tried to copy and first one was like I was going blind and color blind. 😮 Second time worse and needless to say I never made a copy after third try and downloading two converters that I suck at and am Apple dumb, even after something doctor on my Apple devices use. Sorry Dale. It must be frustrating for you. It is a paid for service. They inform me that it’s a free period every so often and ask me to promote it without saying when it will end. Hello Stu, You have answered me yesterday very quickly about that program you higly advice to buy and you confirm really that it is absolutely possible to copy an entire dvd with his menu(trailers,language & subtitles)! I would ask you a favour if it is possible, can you make a tutorial or explanation how to do it with WinX Dvd Ripper because I have decided to buy it(already installed but you can use it for 5 min. trial) before it's to late and it becomes more expensive I buy it this evening after your answer- because indeed I have ask support about the Clone Dvd software I bought and they have confirmed that it does everything exept that you are able to save the movie and his menu on external harddisk. @@StuTech Hello Stu thanks for everything! I have already bought the program, but certain things with the subtitles it doesn't do!? I have also good results with MKV, and for the moment I used both programs. A lot depends how I have masterized the dvd, registreted the movie from tv or copie with the program,becaused on that fact WinXdvd informed me that the dvd was damaged or cracked and it didn't rip it! But for me it's ok if you do a tutorial for august,I will be notified when you have a new one!!! Have a nice day and thumbs up for the big job you do,bye!!!

Ha! I wish. No, I’m sorry you are wrong in that assumption. It was free for the first month after the video went live. I’m sure I mentioned in the video that it was time sensitive. We (youtubers) don’t all make referral payments for every video we do. It’s a popular misconception, I wish I did, that way I could possibly quite my 9-5 job.

No you can’t put subtitles on it if you wish it either has them and you can rip them or it doesn’t have them you can’t add them you can’t put them on it’s not a choice for you all you can do is choose which tracks to to rip
Correct. You can only work with what you have on the original disk. Subtitles are on 99% of all shop bought DVD’s.
