Hi Stu, what is the difference between the free download and the one that’s available for purchase? Besides the price, is there performance difference? Thanks
@@eltruheyo Looks like the amount of processing power will be variable. The paid version will convert faster I believe
@@TheGreatArloManalso you can only convert up to 5 mins i think with the free version
Another great video Stu just what I was looking for 👍👍👍
Managed to get a VERY important piece of footage off of an old DVD of my Nana for her final send off this weekend, thank you my mate :D
Awesome video brother STU. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an amazing day. Much love
Hi Tim. How are doing mate?
many thanks for the vid. If there are several audio channels on the DVD, how do you pick a specific one with the software?
Thank you, thank you, thank you,you don't know how long I've been wanting to do this,I have a good amount of movies on DVD and this software seems to be just what I need to convert them into mp4 format, once again thank you,no one is doing videos like this anymorep👍
Did you do it
Dont do this, this will ruin the quality
Compared to a DVD player? Plus the whole convenience factor can’t be overlooked. I personally can get great results but it’s all subjective really.
@@StuTech You dont know what your talking about. DVDs arent originally in Mp4 and by doing this shitty method its better off to screenrecord. Dont follow this shit guys, if anyone is interested to not lose quality, reply to this comment.
Top stuff Stu! (Loved seeing the younger you! 🤣)
I peaked that day….it’s been al downhill since 😎
Good stuff. Thanks Carlton!! 👍🏽👊🏽✊🏽😊💯
Hi Dallas. Thanks for watching 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent !! This works great !! 😎👍🏻
Will I need to merge files before mp4 conversion? Like if the vhs was stopped in the middle and the dvd has broken up into multiple chapters and 2 parts?
Hi Stu, what is the difference between the free download and the one that’s available for purchase? Besides the price, is there performance difference? Thanks
I believe it’s just the free version is limited to 10 mins or so.
@@StuTech Thank you! I’m making the purchase based on your great review. 👊🏼
Thank you. Enjoy
there is a comparison chart on the same page that shows what the difference is between paid and free version on the software website lol
What is the name of the software you are using that will work on windows and can you use the software to upload your videos or DVDs to CZcams?
Hi Stu, Does this software allow you to finalize a DVD after it is burned so that it can be played on DVJ players?
I’m sorry I can’t answer that I’m afraid. That would be a question for the support team.
@@StuTech ok, thanks
@@StuTech you spread misinformation and you clearly dont know about optical media, everyone dont use this guide. And I know you will see this comment so stop giving trash advise to beginners. This shitty guide will lose the most quality. There are lossless free methods (better than paid shitty software like he showed), if you want a proper backup send me a comment.
Do you know how to get the subtitles to work on winxdvd I've been trying to convert star trek 3 and when the Klingons speck the English subtitles don't come up ?
The link when I download it still takes me to the free trial version where I can only download 5 min of my movie. Is there a different link for the licensed one?
Well done Stu
Stay Frosty
Great video, thank you very much. What quality settings do you use the most. Do you upscale?
I usually upscale to 1080p. It does a decent job of it.
@@StuTech when I tried that with this program, the results looked horrible on the pc.
i'm losing quality when i rip to mp4 from dvd. i'm using winx platinum... any ideas? ive tried using make mkv but the files are HUGE and i can't get handbrake to work on my computer. i'm getting so frustrated
Stu, great video! Do you have a link to a discount price for a lifetime licence version?
Thanks
Sorry, the discount code I was given was for only for a limited time.
Excellent!
I bought a Verbatim device and all I could do is get video and audio files. What do I do next?
Nice video Stu!! Are dvds still a thing? Lol I don’t think I own any. If I do I think they will look like them private ones you got 😂
It’s surprising but there is still a market out there. My dvd videos are some of my best performing ones.
The private vids are the best. I wish we had video cameras in our pockets growing up 🤣
Thank you sir.
Thanks for this Stu! I have 133 DVD’s full of home movies that I converted from VHS. I need a new laptop so am thinking of getting the MacBook Pro to do this. Do you recommend saving the converted video onto the Mac before transferring to an SSD? Or will that not make a difference to the speed?
Keep the dvds the ssds don't last long a dvd is more reliable than a hard drive all my customers for my video tape business always want dvd very rare that they want a digital file
This video is full of misonformation. DVD to mp4 loses most of the quality of the dvd
can you convert Bluray as well or just DVD? Thanks for this video.
Annoyingly for quite a lot of people like yourself it’s dvd only.
Great info mate thanks 👍
Go Stu 😎
How are you getting on Scotty?
@@StuTech all good mate
And you 👍
Thankfully I’m good too 👍🏻
@@StuTech you had your jab 🤔
End of the month for me and you?
When ripper how we know what is the main movie file ?
Hey StuTech, I have used this to convert most of my dvd library. The last few dvds have an issue where the language comes through as French or Spanish rather than English. Any idea how to fix these ones?
It sound like an obvious thing to suggest but did you select English as the language when you were setting up the rip before you converted? Sorry but I had to ask lol
Haha I totally understand. Yes I have English selected. But it still comes through in the wrong language. Sorry I should have specified that.
Thank you for this excellent video. I’m looking to convert DVDs that used to be VHS tapes of old family videos like you have done here. When they have been converted is it possible to edit them in any way?
Yes, 100% 👍🏻
@@StuTech what method works best to cut unwanted stuff? Thank you for your quick reply. Much appreciated
Depends on your platform. There are plenty of free editing software available. I used iMovie for years. Just google “free editing software” then make sure it’s not just a free download and the software is entirely free. You can also do a quick edit on your phone using the built in software. CZcams is great for finding free software and tips and tutorials too.
@@StuTech thank you
I followed the instructions but after starting it does not convert anything it keeps spinning around at 0% on a new Acer Spin3
Does this work with the new M1 MacBooks? Because I noticed on that Display of the App it said
Hardware Encoder: ✅Intel/AMD/Nvidia
100% yes. I use the M1 Mac mini and it’s want you saw in this video. 😄😄
If I am adapting a home video DVD, and I want to make sure the quality is as high resolution as possible with little storage space...what settings would you recommend me using while converting? I am a little nervous to convert these dvds, because it is the only copy I have and I am concerned with messing up the DVD.
The info will still be on the DVD after transfer. So try some settings and see how they work but don't lose the DVD master, then if you don't like how it turned out, try again from the file lifted from the DVD. The info will always still be on the disc unless you rewrite the disc.
Do you use a special software for interlaced DVDs when you’re converting them to mp4?
Not an expert but I thought all DVD’s were interlaced and it’s hardware that needs to be compatible not the software. I’m assured it works for all DVD’s and all regions. I hope that helps.
@@StuTech I thought so too. I’m trying to convert my DVDs to mp4 and I’m having issues with de interlacing them
Have you ever ripped a DVD movie and the digital copy skips?
I bought the product! and I am NOT satisfied! I tried twice to convert the Movie Speed Zone! The 1:32:00 movie, the first time only 52:00 min was converted, the second time 1H 02M were converted. Both times it says the job was completed. but that was not the case.
I would contact customer service. They are usually good at answering issues such as yours.
In the meantime the first question I would ask is to the quality of the disc being copied? as dvd’s do have a lifespan and can fail without reason which I’m sure you are aware of but I have to ask so sorry if this offends.
I can't seem to get the quality of my conversions correctly, even playing the disc straight to my PC not converted has bad quality, could this be my DVD Player choice or something else?
DVD’s can deteriorate over time. I’ve never heard of bad quality even on the pc before conversion, not in my experience although we we are used to HD and 4K standard definition can take time to get used to again.
Good afternoon Stu thanks
Thank YOU
Hi Stu, I have been playiing around converting on Prism NCH software and works great except I noticed that as the old movie copy I made with commericals as it plays for awhile the audio sync is off and gets worse as the movie goes on. What I have read so far is i should set it up in the options section for the correct bitrate ect.... I have it set to default currently. output is MP3 and bitrate is 224. got any suggestions on this issue?
That's very annoying when that happens. I haven't experienced it in dvd ripping right enough just the editing of video and separate audio. It usually happens when they are recorded in different codecs if I remember rightly (it's been a while). I don't have an answer for you right now but I will try to look into it for you and I'll hopefully have an answer for you.
If I watch the video on my laptop with the dvd it's fine but after I convert it the audio goes out of sync 5 to 10 minutes in after the tv commercial that had finished
How come it's only downloading 9 minutes worth of the film?
Only does 5mins at a time any advice anyone?
How do I burn a homemade usb into a dvd so it can be watched on a home dvd player for people like my mom who’s 78 that doesn’t no technology
Can it convert from Pal to FLV?
Hi Stu great video. I only have blu ray disks, is it possible to do the same
Sorry this does not work for blu-ray for reasons I addressed in the video. It’s dvd only…sorry.
i downloaded from your site, tells me i have to buy programme so not free
Unless someone out there knows how to get by on this or disable this, I'm unable to use this software for my TV shows due to copyright, it pops-up as "ABNORMAL TERMINATION: ERROR CODE:-1". Tried a few software programs that I thought would remove the copyright (Movavi Video Converter, Handbrake, etc.) but seems none of them do.
Any other suggestions folks? For now I'm going the old-fashioned route having to open several software programs just so I can transfer these TV shows to my external hard drive to watch on my smart TV. Was hoping this software would work for everything without having to use different software programs to get what I want, but that remains to be unseen.
Steps and software I'm taking for now...
1. Open DVD Decrypter: It still takes all DVD's copyright or not, even though the software is outdated. And, it's free...COMPLETELY FREE.
2. Open AVS Video Converter: Paid for this AVS Software as "lifetime" user license and always used since 2007 without issue. Not sure on price for lifetime license as of today.
3. Open Movavi Video Editor 14 to edit the video to my liking, again, paid license and used since 2015 without issue. For me, this step is a personal option.
It would be nice to if you can just click one-time and everything would load without issue and transfer without the "copyright" B.S. I paid for the damn DVD's so I should do what I want with 'em! I already understand the "rules" of copyright folks but to Hell with that! Politics and money B.S. again!
Does this still work in 2022
Link provided takes me to a page which just allows downloading version that will rip only 5 mins
Once the file is converted, how do you make it interface with iPhone?
My favourite player for Mac or iOS is “Infuse” it’s on the App Store. It plays from your local drive or even remotely.
Just create an ISO disc image of the dvd then do that process as you'll have the original 1:1 clone of the disc
Yes and in most cases its faster to clone disc first, people dont appreicate discs menus special features etc. sad
How would it be faster to put the dvd 📀 into an iso folder vs just putting a dvd in and running it through the software how much time to convert it into iso?
Stu are you using the paid version that it's saying I have to buy or are you using the free version???
I have the paid version unfortunately it’s a paid for software.
The free version will stop after a short time with a message it stopped abnormally. The site says free version will record only for 5 minutes for a trial.
Try my latest dvd video which is free to use. czcams.com/video/BosGG2YI9rE/video.html
it will only let me upload 5 minuties without buying. Have I done something wrong?
Nope. That's the trial.
Can this rip Blu-Ray dvds? Thanks
Sorry, unfortunately not. It's dvd and cd only.
How do I play these digital videos on ipad
I use infuse . It’s my favourite player for apple devices. I believe it’s version 7 now. I’ve had since version 1. apps.apple.com/gb/app/infuse-7/id1136220934
can't get enough of your accent...
👍👍👍
Hi, is it ok to convert them to MKV?
Yes 👍🏻
Can this convert copyright protected dvds?
Yes, all of them 👍🏻
2:05 "look how cool that is" the UI looks like something from the 2000's
It gives me a 5 minute limit. How do i remove this limit?!!!
Check this video out which should still be 100% free of you follow the guide. Let me know otherwise and I’ll chase it up with the company.

its cost?! i can only have 5 minute limited why?
It's an old outdated offer that was active when the video was produced. Sorry

Thank you 🙏🏻

1:00 ""Not expensive at all"
Since there are numerous totally free applications if you software cost the slightest, then it's too expensive
Fair point I suppose.
If it's not Scottish, it's CRRRAP!
It’s limited to 5 minutes unless you pay 60 bucks what a rip off💀
😁😁😁👍👍👍
Sounds like a YouCrane accent..
He's clearly Scottish.
Not free
outdated offer now
this software sucks ass. it only saves the dvd in 4:3 ratio so forget about watching it on a modern flat screen tv at 16:9
I think you may have made a mistake as what you have said is absolutely not true. If the dvd was originally in 4:3 ratio it will by default rip to 4:3. You can stretch the ration to 16:9 if you wish, just look for that option in the set up menu. I hope that helps.
@@StuTech oh yeah, please do tell?
@@StuTech I'm going to try this again. I hope you are right and I'm doing something wrong. I'm about ready to throw these dvd's away.
It just takes a little bit of familiarising with the software and a bit of trial and error sometimes. Have you reached out to the software creators? I’m not affiliated with them, I’m just a yt creator.
@@StuTech no, but I will try harder. Thanks either way.
Why can’t someone capable of speaking clear English make a video to explain things, smh
Sorry about that. Where are you from?
I understand him just fine.
