Idealism is not a practical goal, it's a way of thinking. Politics can exist without fanatism, it's a way of democratic process. Lee Edelman seems to forget the difference between peaceful disagreement and fascist repression. Or maybe that's just the way his 'philosophy' goes. 🖤
Edelman's response to the queer utopian slant of Muñoz et al is very disappointing! He seems to love gesturing vaguely at this work without ever engaging it properly at all. Dismissing it as useless fantasy is such a disingenuous reading of any utopian studies and kind of demonstrates that he hasn't even read these books? idk mans kind of annoying me
