You need a functioning brain. I have opened boxes like this with just some pliers and a pair of chop sticks. Start the pull with the pliers then sandwich the metal strip between the chop sticks and roll away.

This is the way to set up a long term plan for disaster etc. Stuff like thermal sheets and other survival equipment can keep in good condition for many years
