Jake Guentzel is signing in Tampa, Domi is back in Toronto, Utah re-signs their D-core and Patty Kane is back with the Wings. That and more in today's NHL hockey video!
Update since 11:50 last night lol Tampa Bay signs Jake Guentzle for 7 years at 9 per year Leafs sign Chris Tanev 6 years at 4.5 per year, full no move Guentzle deal feels fine, Tanev deal with a full no move for 6 years is a little scary but not awful
From what I could watch yeah Kane staying is great. But one player can't make it like the 97-98 era. Or datsyuk and zberg. Franzen, Lidstrom, Kronwall, etc. Mixed them up a bit.
@anthonylepinski8290 I think it's a good move and yes they definitely need more guys but to even get that team a taste of playoffs would be a good start.
@@anthonylepinski8290Well nobody was expecting that type of roster anyway. There are a bunch of young guys that will be ready to make an impact so we really didn’t need to go and acquire a bunch of big name guys
As a wings fan and Kane being my all time favorite player (next to Datsyuk), this put the biggest smile on my face! Hoping for one more solid move in the off-season though. #gowings
Definitely among top 3 players of the whole play offs. Coming from a Bruins fan. He was such a danger every time he touched a puck it was crazy. Good for you for keeping him.
Wings and a Panthers fan. It’s been REALLY hard to be excited about the Wings for a while now. Screwed out of draft lottery picks, failed prospects, etc. Kaner has put life into me again as a Winger. I’m SO glad he’s playing another year in hockey town. Reinhart also commuted to the CUP CHAMPS as well so let’s gooo! 😀
i still view it as detroit was suppose be the team to get the last playoffs spot, thay were by far the best team aswell and could probably do some damage. A real wild card team indeed, which is why i think Kane has the trust in the team to stay for one more year atleast.
A full season for Kane after he's been able to develop chemistry within the lineup could lead to a very different result this year. I'm not sure how they resign Raymond and Seider while aggressively going after Stammer (particularly if the Trouba rumors end up being true), but if Yzerman manages to pull off 3 of the 4 it'll be a very interesting season in Detroit.
There are rumors out there that the Trouba deal might involve the Rangers taking back either Holl and/or Copp which would free up enough cap space for Raymond and Seider on bridge deals.
Kane obviously enjoyed his time in Detroit. He’s got his cups. Why not make a bag and have a little fun at the same time? Hopefully Yzerman can make a few more moves to really cement the wings in a playoff push.
I don’t like the wings but this is great for the wings. Kane had so many clutch moments last year if it wasn’t for him they woulda finished near the bottom. Stole so many games
Let's not forget Raymond turning it up another level in his game. But, yes Kane was amazing. Better than people expected after the hip issues. As a wings fan, happy he signed.
@@josephbrancato1883 Raymond was the real hero of the season, particularly the last leg. He was far and away the most clutch player in the last 15 games.
@@chrismanning5232 Kane in the last 15 games had the game winning goal vs Buffalo, game winner in OT vs Columbus (and primary on Raymond's tying goal late, which was a tap in off a rebound of a Kane shot), the late 3rd period tying goal at Washington to salvage a point, late 3rd period tying primary on the power play at Florida to salvage point (Larkin one timer but Kane set up the entire play himself), the game winning goal against Buffalo again, the game winning OT primary at Toronto (the play was 100% Kane, Larkin just held his stick on the ice), and the walkoff shootout winner at Montreal in the last game. That's just the last 15 games for Kane, and it included the last 4 games where they completely buried him in the lineup and took Cat away. He still won the team 2 of those games.
Glad to see Kane staying in Detroit. I had seen some rumors that the Rangers were interested, but I don't think that would have worked out. I think he's a good fit in Detroit and hope he continues to do well.
I tried talking myself out of getting too attached to Kane so I tried to play it like I was okay if he stayed or went, but now that he's on for another year, I gotta say this Wings fan is super-stoked!
Save the best for last, lol! Of all of this business, so glad Kane decided on another year in Detroit. Now, if they can shore up the D and the tending, we should make the playoffs next year.
I am glad we got Kane back but I feel like Detroit left alot of good options slip away. Letting go of Ghost and Wallman at this point has me scratching me head.
PATRICK KANE is the most exciting sign. He's still arguably the best player in this list of players, and he's got a full off-season to work out while healthy.
@gregorybiestek3431 Honestly, I think there is potential there. Tampa would've already signed him before he becomes a free agent. Wings might not be able to get him the most money but Yzerman and Stamkos have history so who knows?
Overall, the move I'm most excited about is Montour to the Kraken (seriously, I got the notification from ESPN on my lunch break at work, and the rest of my shift, I was celebrating it with a rewriting of "We Are the Champions" ["We've signed a champion, my squids/We've signed Brandon Montour, friggin' rights!/This is a great move/This is a great move/Ice kitty, thank you for your top defenseman" {okay, he wasn't their top defenseman, but it fits the song}]).
As a Chicago/Florida sports fan I just want the guy back in a BH jersey. If Kane was around to mentor Bedard it would’ve been as ideal as possible. Don’t understand why they ever let him walk.
@@tomblade well the punch line is actually that there's so much moonshine there that everybody stammers when they speak, but hey, I appreciate you stomping on it.

Let’s go red wings. We our guaranteed for our 12th cup. Hell yeah
This is HUGE for Detroit. I thought Kane was a great fit on their roster last year and I'm excited to see what he does with them this season

Kane, staying put.

Update everyone Sam Reinhardt has signed an 8 year extension With Florida with reports it is at 8.6 M a year
