- Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by vegan activist 'V-Gan Booty' AKA Tash Peterson as well as Fox commentator Tomi Lahren to discuss the recent reports that vegan products are starting to come off shelves due to lack of demand and whether veganism as a belief is faltering.
Tash compares the animal cruelty that happens on farms to the likeness of the holocaust, which Piers and Tomi both refute as incomparable. Tomi explains that growing up on a ranch she saw the animals reared for consumption were loved and nurtured their entire lives.
Piers then explains that the reason for vegan products starting to come off shelves is because veganism is a 'fad' that is starting to pass, before discussing Bear Grylls, the explorer who used to be vegan but turned his back on it.

However, Piers is very good at optics ... he will always invite an anti-vegan on to “balance” the vegan arguments; in reality there is no balance, since Piers is anti-vegan (though he confesses that he “has nothing against” vegans, it’s obvious where he stands on the issue). So, the voice of one vegan against two anti-vegans will always be drowned out by the noise. However I have found the vegan arguments very boring as well. no one supports factory farming it’s disgusting, but we do support ethical farming and will continue to eat meat as we are omnivores. Vegans keep generalising that all farms operate like factory farms and abuse their animals which is just not true, I’ve been on multiple farms where all the animals are healthy and happy

The word 'love' is subjective here. The rancher loves and respects animals for their place among us, as a food source. She loves and respects them for what they represent to us and each other.
Those who love animals ensure they lead happy, healthy lives & when the time comes, a humane death. Some humans would be thankful for such a life. Vegans who hypocritically claim to love animals would make them extinct as there would DEFINITELY NOT be animals running around in the fields if everyone became vegan. What would cat & dog owners feed their pets? How would zoos with lions & other meat eaters survive?
I think many Western Vegans need to take a trip out to Africa, Outer Mongolia or the indigenous tribes of South America. There is a deep and natural almost spiritual connection between Human & Animal in these places and yet they still consume them not out of maliciousness but necessity, their natural body simply craves it like they also crave vegetables, nuts & fruits. To eat meat & fish is to be human, we have evolved, survived & thrived thousands & thousands of years on an Omnivorous diet. To become a Vegan would be to deny one's humanity.

If someone did care about animal welfare, it seems unlikely they'd spend a second denouncing factory farming, then spend the rest of the interview attacking veganism. I agree farm animals are victims when treated poorly, live miserably and killed inhumanely. In a similar fashion eating meat is not unethical, but eating meat 5 times a day without understanding the environmental consequence of our gluttony is. Plant diet is way more environmentally efficient and sustainable.
I've always been on the side of old fashioned farming. However the problem with it, which I feel a lot of my "allies" don't want to admit, is that it is much less space efficient than battery farming techniques, thus the cost on the other side of it which isn't discussed is cost and destruction of habitat that goes along with it. And in a country like England, we simply cannot practically do it whilst also feeding the population.
Vegan food is often VERY VERY high in salt which leads to high blood pressure.
Potatoes, lentils, beans, chickpeas, rice, tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli are high in sodium? That’s news to me!
Most vegans are avoiding certain foods and not finding a balanced vegetable diet. The specifically vegan foods like cheeses and yogurts have little protein and many times filled with synthetic unhealthy ingredients!
Not sure about MOST vegans, but yeah a lot of vegans aren't seeing the processed junk as a "treat" alongside a healthy whole food plant based diet, and instead over indulging on it and getting just as sick as they were on a standard diet.

I’m a plant based, whole food person (sometimes lumped in with vegan) for a variety of reasons.
The extreme activism doesn’t work. Calling it murder and a holocaust just gives people something to pushback against and ignore some of the worst things we genuinely and unnecessarily do in raising and slaughtering animals for food.

He also states in the book that he ate what he calls “honest meat” (which he defines as non-factory farmed and unprocessed) alongside his mostly plant-based diet. While Grylls did appear to eat a mostly plant based diet he has never made any public assertion that he followed the lifestyle completely

A solution for the people who want to be more conscious could be buying from local farmers who raise their cattle in good and free conditions instead of buying from big corporations. I was a vegan/vegetarian for about 3.5 years. For some reason eating animals bothered me. Then I went back to eating meat again. It isn't uncommon for this to happen to people. Who knows why. Maybe I saw or read something that caused me to become this way. Maybe my body was telling me something. I do wish animals were treated more humanely before they are slaughtered still.
It’s like quitting any addiction. It’s so easy to slip back into old ways. You just have to keep reminding yourself about the victims and how you would feel in their position.

I was raised vegetarian and then vegan at 14. I wasn't addicted to meat- yet I started craving red meat so bad too the point I was dreaming about it often and salivating when I would see beef. My body kept telling me it needed meat- and when I finally listened my health and strength became amazing. I never knew what true health felt like until then. I also became less anxious and depressed. My mind was better too- I could process and retain new information so easily. The only way to stay vegan despite your body telling you otherwise is to force yourself using fear and shame tactics on yourself. It's not natural for humans to be vegan!

Veganism is not a diet. Not every person who eats a plant based diet is vegan, but all vegans eat plant based. It's not about human health or the environment.
Veganism is a philosophy and abolitionist rights based movement, i.e. basic rights, the right to not be killed, noninterference, bodily integrity, etc. At its most basic level, it is about the abolition of animal ag and all the other ways we exploit sentient beings.
