    I enjoyed your video Danny. Knowledge like this is invaluable for many of us who are doing the clutch install ourselves! Greasing all the right places can prevent many future clutch issues and pain in the neck noises caused by metal against metal friction or premature parts wear from failure to lubricate them correctly.

      zayuhtoven It’s much easier with the exhaust off first, and a 1/4 inch drive little ratchet helps getting on it.

    This is great info on clutch installation, I've been having problems with my clutch cable hanging up. I just ordered BBK cable and firewall adjuster. Any tips on installation? Really like your channel and your brothers. Great stuff!

    The problem with wet moly lube is that when the clutch disk material sheds off, it's fine pieces of metal that will be accumulating on the moly lube which in the end will crust up the lube. When the clutch disk material turns the moly lube all crusty, it'll be moly-clutch metal lube which squeaks and squeals.

      There are dry lube spray with Teflon or PTFE from WD40 and DuPont that may work as well but I don’t know how long it would stay.
      But the nice thing is that it resist dirt, dust and oil build up.
      But 2-3 coats of it should be good.

    Hi. My 03 Yaris won't select gear intermittently. I notice the slave is not leaking and seems to operate the fork. Last time it happened I noticed I could select 1st after turning engine off but I feel a slight pull when I dip the clutch.
    Can you advise me as to what could be the problem? Thanks

    Hey Danny, I'm about to throw an RXT into my 2003 Cobra. Should I resurface/re-use the factory flywheel or just get a new one with the clutch kit? Thanks! 🙏🏿

      I would go with all new parts, but if your flywheel is in very good shape maybe it could be resurfaced. The cobra has an aluminum one and all the kits I see for the mcloud show a steel one. If the kit is new verify it doesn’t come with a flywheel (I see them as a package all the time).

    Hi Danny, is it necessary to replace the fork? Going to replace the clutch in my 03 gt soon and was wondering if I should replace it....

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Před 4 lety +2

      It should be ok if the fork clamps onto the pivot ball tightly. If it falls off easy it’s time for a new one

      @@dannyjohnsonsgarage i think I'll replace the pivot stud while I'm in there though. Its got 164k on it.

      If it’s designed for the car I’m sure it still will. It’s probably a Ford thing

    My clutch makes a funny 'phmmph' noise when reverse is riden a little, and also when coasting in gear and releasing the clutch gradually. Doesn't seem to do it when shifting up and accelerating. Any ideas? Sounds like a squeeking big metal gate for a 1/4 second. In neutral when engine running, no noises. 🤔 vid of noise below....
