- Finally got a video up of the 1969 Chevy Impala project with a factory 427 big block. This classic car has interesting options including bucket seats, console, power windows, and air conditioning. The car had sat since at least 2004 in a driveway in the San Fernando Valley.

Now, that's power. Hope it gets restored.
In time it’ll get restored
So hard to find,
I had a beautiful 69 Caprice 2dr hardtop with a factory 427 that I bought at a local auction in the early 2000’s.
Had a '66 Impala 427 years ago. They're out there, but not very common.
My Brother Owned that same car back in the 80's But his was factory 4 speed, Posi rear, I remember that car like yesterday Light Blue white vinyl top.
Had a '66 with a four speed and a 427 years ago. Nice to have another big block Impala.
What a Beast. Those 427 callouts, I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody stole the driver side one.
The side marker is missing as well, so it may have been hit and then the fender repaired.
The Astro Ventilation emblems are missing too
shari has the other 427 for keep sale 😮🙄
Great find 👍👍👍
Thanks
What a rare car,, i never saw one.. it would be a beauty to restore in original condition and gold, we had a 1970 caprice in 1982, it was a 454 column shift auto in Gold, beige vinyl top black interior.
That 69 wouldnt be a waste of money to full resto it. Great find and investment.
Beautifull car mate. Keep it
Going to have to save up to do it right.
Amazing car, and nailed the 427. My parents owned a blue 4dr 69’ Impala with the 327. A lot of childhood memories in that. There is a gold 4dr 350 in New York near me, it’s rough.
I hope to find one someday soon for my pops.
You never know what you might find out there.
If I remember correct , back in late 60's many GM cars like the Impala came with a big block in a towing package . Lot of Dads towed trailers back then . It was not a performance option. Just like the 396 ,325hp engine in base Impala also . I had a 4 door 68 Impala with a 396 and it was a slug gas hog. This car here may be rare today , But not a hot rod car.
This one does to appear to have had a tow hitch on it.
Check out the old Bud Lindeman video where he tests a 1969 Chevy Impala 396 2 barrel. You are right, those were sloths. The 427 4 barrel with 385 horsepower was a vast improvement.
At 325 HP it wouldn't take much to bring it to life.
@@buckster2575 Your right ,but you have to address the valve seats ,leaded gas back then. My 396 had two bolt mains , still strong bottom end ,the crack was steel not cast ,also has pop up pistons ,close chamber heads .Head work and cam update ,yes it could be a stump puller.
Great find Mike
Thank you.
Nice find and acquisition. Non-SS Impala equipped with a factory 427 big-block engine are very rare. Worth restoring...Yes! Nicely optioned example...Power Steering, Power Brakes (Disc up front?), Air Conditioning, Power Windows, AM/FM w/quad reverb, and bucket seats with console, floor shifter...Nice! Car should have a 12-bolt rear axle; would imagine it has a 3.08 or 3.31:1 gear ratio? Limited-slip?
Back in the late 80's, I acquired a 1966 Caprice 2-door Coupe with a factory 427 engine (rated 485hp), Turbo 400 Transmission, 12-bolt limited-slip rear axle w/3.08:1 "highway" gears. No buckets or floor console (had a bench seat & column shift), no A/C or Power Windows; but did have a factory tilt-steering wheel, power steering and brakes, AM radio with optional speaker in rear. In researching 1966 full size Chevrolet models (Caprice, Impala, Belair, & Biscayne) with factory 427 engines: if I recall, there were around 2,500 produced with the 427/425hp engine but only around 500 produced with the 427/385hp engine. A Caprice with the 427 engine was rather rare. The 396 big block engine was also available in 1966, and would imagine both [396 & 427] were available through the 1969 model year. As we know, 1970 the 396 was bored to 402 cu.in., and the 427 was stroked to 454 cu.in.
Thanks for making, sharing the video. Tom M., Hawthorne Ca.
This one needs to get restored. Such an oddity.
Ok so 427/485HP!!! Hmmm 🤔 never heard of that one. 427/385 should be rated as in a Vete with a/c as well!! as a 390 hp motor
@@enricomandragona163 The 485hp was a typo; my '66 427 Caprice was factory rated 385hp (not 485hp). If I recall correctly, it was the same engine as the Corvette 427/390hp, but was rated 385hp, probably for marketing purposes (advertise Corvette as top dog]. It's also possible that the Corvette's exhaust system (exhaust manifolds, mufflers, etc.) flowed a bit better.
@@tommiller8714 Correcto ✌️
@@tommiller8714 Usually the intake & whether the car has dual exhaust. Manifolds we're mostly the same in flow
Awesome find, man! I am jealous. What a great car. Congratulations!
Thanks
Super rare 2 door hard top Impala with a 427 Mike. It's a diamond 💎 in the rough. You have a gem there definitely worth a high dollar restoration. Good luck Mike.
I agree. This car needs a full restoration eventually.
This is an awesome car Mike! best of luck with it
Agreed!! You don't see many of them even in Mecum actions
HI MR. MIKE NICE CAR ILL PLAN TO SEE IT AT MOONEYES .
It's entered. It'll be fun to see the reaction it gets
Nice find Mike..
My dad bought one slightly used to replace the 68 Impala he had issues with in 1970. The 68 was a 327 model 4 door. I think dad wanted something more sporty and wanted to sell it to my momma. It despite being a two door and I was the only kid at home he was in his forties and was having a midlife thing. It was a 396 ss. It was Brown with the vinyl like this one. Had console I thought it was cool.
Nice find! 👍
Thank you.
WOW what a great find 🖒🖒
Thanks 👍
The video that I was waiting to watch ever since you showed the car to me .
What a great find !
Now you can go cruise the Impala with the Cholo Low Riders !
I really wanted the car since it appeals to so many different viewers. Honestly never thought I'd ever own another classic Impala. Had a '66 years ago.
Again always dig your stuff and find myself waiting for your next new video. Keep rolling from one vet to another
Thanks, will do!
Nice find
Thanks
Thanks for mentioning my name 🤔😵💫😎 . Dam AAA. Got Scared ! Baby’s. And they tried to charge that run to my AAACard. Did we ever find the Glauck ?gun ?
I’ve looked all over the car and haven’t found it.
Really nice car love it
Thanks
My high school car was a 68 impala 4-dr,307 lots of fun in 82-84
Hello Mike nice car I love Impalas
Thanks
Wow that 427 is impressive find good for you bro! I know this is true now an not the fish that got away lol
There's still some special cars out there waiting to be found.
Good for you!
Thanks!
Mike, watch fitzees fabrications on CZcams. That roof can just be fixed, or find a scrap one. Cool car man.
Going to keep an eye out for another one.
REAL NICE IMPALA. Put alarm on it .
I'll turn the sensitivity and volume to 11 and take it to the swap.
Love those late 60s big block Chevy s
Nice 69 .I have the same but a 4 door 396 sport sedan.
Probably not many with a 396 around as well.
@MikeFrankovich that 396-2V was pitiful; a good running same year Plymouth Valiant 225 Slant Six would keep up with that big Bow Tie
Love that car! Hope you enjoy it.
The Dad built the car on the Assembly Line at the Van Nuys Plant !. Not sure if Shari told you the story.
Please, wash it and polish it up. Beautiful
Going to clean it up. Just left it pretty much as is for the video.
3 427 engine options in 69.. LS1 335hp, L36 390hp, and L72 425hp. You appear to have Caprice side stripes, the impala side stripes are much more narrow. If you plan on replacing those hub caps I can use them on my 69 Caprice.. also with a 427 :)
LINDO LINDO LINDO...................A MAQUINA DO TEMPO........PARABENS........
Thanks
Beautiful find!!!! At 5:29 mark you mention something about keeping the original license plates. Can you repeat what you said?
Remember the giant, el dorado 760 ando caprice 76😛💪🚙👍
Awesome find car is amazing just like that
It's a great car, but eventually it should be restored since it's so rare.
Gr8 memories can't wait to see it restored❤ 6t9 impala 🙏😎😇
Right on. Car looks so solid. What's hp rating on that 69 427 engine. Is it 4brl or 2 barrel. Just wondering is it same basic platform motor compared to 69 Vette with 427
Haven't figured out which 427 it is yet. It has a four barrel carb.
My first car was a 69 caprice with 327
Cool ride
Thanks
Sweet
My first car was a 70 impala hard top with vinyl. Now I'm working on a 70 monte carlo..
rare car my dad was a hevy sales man my mom got a new 69 impala two door yellow with white interior and white vynal topp was caught in a flash flood when two weeks old water over the top
wow! what a find, especially those options, it's just awesome Mike!
The only explanation I can think of is they thought the SS427 was too flashy and special ordered the car this way.
👍👍👍👍
I'd replace the roof with a custom style hard top. Good old triple a. We got roofs in PA. NOTHING from the door Handles down.
So giant Nice car... I love the stutz, 4 Barry white please me with that car Mr Mike? Thanks!!
Find a donor roof and drive it
Going to do that for now until I have funds to restore it.
With the quadrajet carb, it should be a 390 hp
It's a Quadrajet.
It would have been cool to have a 4 speed also.
U selling it? How much for this baby 🚗. I had one just like this in the late 80's, early 90's. Had a small block 327 that ran fast
Hanging on to this one
I just picked up a 69 caprice Four-door sedan with 64,000 miles it needs a rear driver side quarter panel trunk floor pan rear main seal I paid 6,000
Shark (65'-70' Impala/Caprice)
Hey I need help on learning about this car cuz I found one
The Impala is not so Bad I got a 69 convertible
looks like it has a blue light am-fm
It should be made clear that this car is NOT a muscle car. The definition of a muscle car is a midsize or small car with a large displacement or high horsepower engine having much more power than it needs. This particular car has barely enough power to motivate it down the road. The 396 and the 427 in the Big Chevrolets was just above the standard 327 or 350 engine and had standard power.
A 69 Impala Super Sport 427 390hp or 425hp would be considered a muscle car by many,🎉 but thats debatable as well.
Many people these days think any 60's car and some 70's cars are muscle cars just because of when they were made and having V8. It's just not true.
69 sports coupe is what you have
Please don't do donuts when you get it running like some of these idiots on youtube. That car deserves respect. You don't seem like the type that would.
Soooo…how much do you want to sell it for?????
Going to keep it awhile
Make AAA great again 🤣
At least we got it out of there. The family needed it removed that day.
I have a roof, but I'm in Canada
Shipping would be insane. Going to have to search the west coast.
@@MikeFrankovich I'm 3 miles north of the border, 100 miles north of Spokane
LOL ! These are a boat not a muscle car. My dad had one when I was a kid. Just because it has a 427 cubic inch engine doesn't make it a muscle car . The reason you can't get the roof pieces for these cars is that no one wants them.
Oil up the car. Penetrating oil.
Incorrect misleading information. It is not a muscle car. You discredit yourself when you lie to the people.
AAA GUY WAS A HATER....HE WAS JEALOUS THAT I GOT THAT CAR ...HE WAS SENSATIVE.....HE DIDN'T WANT U TO HAVE IT HE WAS AFFECTIONATE.....
Who cares about the T headlamps. Is it mandatory to mention that guys? Gets repetitive. Cool car.
It's a good indication of low mileage when they're still on the car.
It is a SS somebody just took off the badging. If it wasn't an SS it wouldn't have buckets or a slapstick
Not an SS. 427-335 hp with iron crank.
Love it really nice car
Thanks
