Nice to see young people keeping this music alive.
My sentiments EXACTLY
Y’all need to go to the Walnut Valley Festival (Winfield). I felt like such an old fart when I was there! Lots and lots of young people camping and picking, and the competition is tough.
@@sevenandthelittlestmew Where is this festival, near Winfield, B.C. ?
Yea deffiinatly ..its sad the country music industry has went down hill something awful its all pop music with a country accent
@@republican9066 but thankfully there are still alot of great established acts out there like Alison Krauss and Union Station, as well as Rhonda Vincent and the rage just to name two of my favorites
Many of the old time players can't read a lick of music but they hear a tune once and they can play it.
very true!
Robert Lytle: Hot daing yeah.
My old fiddle teacher was like that. Self taught and had good ear
Exactly, and it's even more common than most people realize. I can't read a lick of music but have played guitar in many bar bands over the last 21 years but can also play bass, drums, piano & some mandolin. Fiddle on the other hand has been kicking my butt a little here lately but I'm working on it & am confident I'll add that to my repertoire as well in the future. In the band/musicians circles my experiences have been its way more common to run into self taught musicians that don't read music than those who can read it, especially at bluegrass festivals & such. Ymmv
@@MrMd5555 exactly. Sat down to a piano at age 6. Heard chet Atkins play at age 8 ,said my I got to do that. Grade 5 through ,7 band played Trumpet with the super basics whole single noted music. Can play about any instrument I pick up. However, started learning music theory and basic reading music late in life the back door way. I strongly recommend getting basic paino/ keyboard lessons and knowledge even for ear players. It will make your advancement much easier. I'm retired play my guitars every day. Need to get the piano up and going. And the sax and mandolin just rest in their cases. Perhaps this winter. Too many projects.
The best version I've ever heard. It even comes with a short piece by Billy Bob Mozart. Stunning!
Goddam it you young rascals. there is hope for the US-. thank you .
Love the way she smiles while shooting at us 200 notes per second
Her smile. I'm in love . . .
Best remark ever
Blister 'n' Burn! Straight Fire Moonshine!
I may have been born a yank, but now that's some sweet soundin music. I don't listen to country cuz it doesn't sound like this...but it should! Music like this is true Americana. Delicious like mama's apple pie
You know apple pie ain't American right? 😂
@@Ben-cl2co Nope but it sure is delicious!
You did know this ain't country music, right?
Well I'm From the South..well Kinda if you count Southern California but my Mama & Aunt played alot of Country music was we were youngins back when is was GOOD...there is some Good country now but the line gets awful Blurry at time
It’s akin to Older County Music/Appalachian Bluegrass and Folk Rock (but crossed with Classical…Tchaikovsky) It has it’s origins in Scott -Irish Music our ancestors brought to America…90% of modern Country Music has lost those roots.
This is the best rendition of "The Orange Blossom Special" that I have ever heard. I absolutely love the way you blended Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, I. Allegro", Rossini's "William Tell Overture" and Aaron Coplin"s "Hoe-down" into the song. This is a true masterpiece.
You can't play like that if you are not classical trained
Give a listen to Roy Clark and Jimmy Henley performing this tune, it is really great to watch and listen to.
give this version on pedal steel a chance: czcams.com/video/5VD4LfOOn9I/video.html
My grandfather played this every morning on his fiddle. he is gone now but this reminds me so much of the early mornings at Grandads house in Alabama. Grandad on the fidel and Mimi cooking breakfast. Such a wonderful recall of memories, thanks.
What a great legacy for you to have that memory
My childhood neighbors played “fiddle” music; this brings good memories. 🙂
Awesome share
That’s so cute!!!
One classic part was Mozart's little night music! Light cavalry .
Love how she blends those other tunes within Orange Blossom Special to create a wild medley
THANK YOU GOD!! no computers, no electronics... just instruments and TALENT, real music that really touches the soul
Wow! My jaw's on the floor! That's some natural talent, can't buy that on amazon.
This kind of music allows listeners to freely think, rather than be told what to think via lyrics. Fabulous work done with this group. Keep on playing!
Write the Lyrics ifn' ye's Dare. This is Straight Fire Moonshine Music!
That's what I thought about classical music my whole life. You ask anybody at work if they like classical and they look at you like you're an alien. Then you ask them if they likes Star Wars. Guess what! Pretty much any mega famous movie has classical music. But if you listen to it without a movie you can imagine any damn thing you want.
If you really listen the instruments are talking
Shoot, just ask them if they liked Looney Tunes as kids.
For God we have JESUS amen
I don't know what's better --- the music or the photography. They're both fantastic.
Grizzled old metal banging 62' year old biker here, ALL renditions of this song stir my core. Ol' Roy and boys be proud.
My Daddy absolutely loved both Appalachian bluegrass and Ozark bluegrass. I used to just dread Sunday night because of the hee haw, grand ol Opry, and the other country music shows.
Here I am now 56 years old and love all shades of bluegrass. Thank you for sharing your talents and thank you Dad for sharing your life with me and my siblings.
But aside from the bluegrass, Hee Haw was a stupid show.
Maybe, but it had preddy girls and boregard the hound. What was you a watchin?
Love how it morphs into "Eine Kleine Blauegrasmusik" about two minutes in to the video. Think Wolfgang himself would've gotten a kick out of it too. He was always up for a good "musikalischer Spass"!
BTW, the violin technique and musicality is awesome. And I adored the double bass playing too and what a beautiful instrument!
Thank you so much!!!
Not to forget the Billy The Kid Tell Overture...
and a little lick of Vivaldi Love it! I was a classic violinist elementary school thru college and fiddle is almost another instrument entirely!
@@paulsmith5752 You mean William Tell Overture by Rossini?
Man... you make that fiddle cry with tears of joy!
Well done all of you!
First of all I must say that I am from The UK and don't have much experience with this style of music, but I have to say that is the most amazing "fiddle" playing I think I have ever seen and heard! And I swear there are times in the video when the other members of the band look at her as if to say "Yeah, this one's yours!"
It's funny. Most of this style originated in the U.K, Wales, Ireland.
@@aligator9552 I'ts intersesting as I do associate the fiddle with Ireland, but not really Wales. And I have friends and family from Wales and never thought of it a a fiddle playing culture.I bet tho now you have pointed it out I will hear it!
@@GnrMilligan There is a bit more to it. There was a great movie I forget the name of that traced bluegrass music to England/Music to Appalachia in the 1600 - 1700's.
@@aligator9552 Well music does tend to travell and evolve! And I may well,in the future come across that movie and remember your post and think I wonder if that's the movie that someone mentioned on Facebook ages ago..lol..And I'll watch it!
Actually, many southerners are whose ancestors are from the British isles and Ireland. They also clogged in some of these areas.
Y'all made this mountain boy's heart happy.
Forget “Johnny”. If the Devil went down to Georgia a thousand times, this young lady would have a thousand fiddles of gold.
DrTucsonJim, you stole my comment!😁
No denying it! But you owe it to hear Charlie Daniels rendition. RIP Charlie.
look out charlie!
Wow this blew me away . Talk about a tight band. And what about that fiddle player. GREAT
@@keithmccain4270 And easy to look at too.
As one of the few Australians that have kin in the South, this makes me even prouder. Beautiful ❤
My Son loves this Gold ..They all seem like consummate Professionals yet so happy and relaxed typical musicians
GOD BLESS AMERICA still the coolest country
Wow I’m really surprised that there fiddle didn’t bust out in flames 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Matt's guitar is no slouch either he ceeps up quite well.
According to rumor, it actually did several times. They had to do multiple takes. Rumor also has it that Charlie Daniels' ghost showed up during the recording of this, smiled at Emily (the fiddle player), gave her a thumbs up, and went back to the afterlife.
My teenage son wouldn't get out of bed for me this morning so I played this song as loud as possible, it worked!!
Tell him the fiddle player is in the hall waiting for him.
Well I'm glad it worked out for you, had you tried that with me it woulda backfired on you, because I would be enjoying that immensely
LOL sounds like something I’d do 🤣🤣🤣
Wow.. damn THAT girl can PLAY!!
One of the best mashups i've ever heard, transitions were totally seamless.
Some of the better music I've heard lately.
Southern music is beautiful ❤️ There is absolutely no competition to it.
There's plenty of blue grass in the north too. Where I live in NY is part of Appalachia.
@@maryroller4417 Nice. I live in Kentucky, in the Appalachians.
only one part of this was "southern".
This isn’t southern music, this is middle Appalachian music played with some southern style.
Now, that is music... that you not only hear, but feel and visualize...that train got the Highball signal and took it proud.
Well I love a bit of bluegrass and this truly hit the spot! Well done and thank you for sharing your remarkable talents.
She threw in some Mozart, Copland, and Rossini too!
Blister 'n' Burn, Straight Fire Moonshine Music!
@@chardtomp sad part would be how many people would say "who?"
I'm 54 years old, and I been searching for the name of this song for about 40 of them. Can't believe I finally stumbled upon it (and a great performance). I think I first saw it on Hee-Haw... I think.
when i'm on you tube i always finish my day with southern raised. just plain great music.
Banjo and a fiddle are like chocolate and peanut butter.
Awesome I’m 64 years young and I love it 🇺🇸🌈✨❤️
My Dad use to play this very song. Orange Blossom Special!!!❤❤
By far the best fiddle playing I've ever heard!! Yall have so much talent!! 😍😍
Fantastic arrangement. The classical bits had me grinning from ear to ear.
My Daddy was born in .1912. He played this on an d harmonica when I was child
I'm the 60's. Thank you! 🦁🐑🕊💫
Thanks!!
Phenomenal. Breathtaking. I have never heard anyone play the fiddle like this and I’m old.
I'm blown away! This was truly a delight to listen to! Thanks for sharing your talents with us all.
violin playing expert level
Just about to start coming out of lockdown here in the UK and boy that was a real get up and go piece to help us along. You are indeed a class act. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
OG with all those so-called frightening variants were still going right back into lockdown from what I heard at least in New York state
Love to hear that people in the uk are enjoying some good old American bluegrass
I love seeing kids like this having good clean fun, and making people smile. They are wonderful, and their parents have to be something really special too to raise fine kids like this!
It doesn't matter what kind of music it is, when there's great talent playing it, it's always inspiring. Play on kids, you sound great!
Outstanding!!! Thank you for sharing this!! 🌟🏆🙏✝️
I'd put bluegrass musicians up against any other as some of the most talented on the planet
No they are less talented. All the music is very similar. Also, one should not trespass on the railway. It is dangerous.
19th Century Shredders
@@PreservationEnthusiast But can the classical players do it without reading music No They Can't FInest talent Bluegrassers Not handycaped by having to read the music
@@PreservationEnthusiast As a mater we had a professional Violinist show up to a jam session just couldn't keep up

That was a unique arrangement and it was most enjoyable. Well done!
I keep coming back to this. Love the tracks. Love the girls. Love the tempo. Love the medley.
Every time I'm down I watch this video. Makes me happy. Thank you for your beautiful talent ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hopefully that's not too often Pam, but it won't hurt to watch it even when things are going good! Best of luck, and happiness to you Pam., from Minnesota.
Right on Pam. Some of the best in the world. This old man knew Doc Watson, Van Cliburn, Bobby Dylan, Joan Baez. Knew the last two when they were touring with the Rolling Thunder Review. I'd talked Review into booking into Ed Ball's private nature preserve Wakulla Inn. Ball had married into the wealthy Dupont family via his nice and when her very rich uncle wanted to tour Europe during the great Depression Ed was given Dupont's "power of attorney" to exercise while Dupont was on the other side of the pond. Now take a breath. Words he neglected his power of attorney upon his return and Ed Ball awaited his death and acting for him refused to probate Dupont's estate and thus soon became the richest man in Florida. I was lucky enough to have known him and to have fallen in love with Wakulla Springs and spent my third honeymoon in its Inn. I had been put off that the first time Bobby and Joan visited Tallahassee they stayed at the newer and tacky Holiday Inn and made it my business that they'd not make that mistake twice. Nor will I forget Bob's ire when I told him he and Joan were so popular they could have shed themselves of the Rolling Review and have stayed with Ed Ball at the Wakulla Inn perched on top of Wakulla Springs one of the natural wonders of mother Earth. He looked at me with new eyes and said, "the Review is the only world" they knew. I laughed and promised them both I'd be happy to change that for free...I did and the rest is history. Baker
I am Northern Raised, but love this music big time.
new england has a backwoods culture up north. i'm from one.
Not one single liberal Godless yankee can do this. Our flames of hate and rebellion are only being flamed hirer! Dio Vindice!
I can’t even listen to today’s country. Haven’t been able to for years. I am sure glad to see there are still people, and young people at that, playing this good music!
Kudos to all of you!
EDIT…… and props to all of the instrumentalists, they are great, but the Fiddleist is awesome!
Bluegrass or country?
@@rendhikaakbar6933
Country. It has it’s roots in bluegrass. I can always listen to bluegrass, but todays country is nauseating. It’s nice to see young people keeping the old music alive instead of just following the popular music industry.
@@crocodilegrundee4514 got to pitch in there with you. Bluegrass still gives you hope in music.
I describe the Nashville Pop as country FATT. Fake Accents Two Tempos. Mostly by frat guys who are not story tellers; songs limited to driving trucks, drinking beer, and bragging about how much the girls like them. Country Radio's short play lists=8 songs then repeat.
@@sandburgmartin7947
Yeah, my sentiments exactly. For me, it has to have something more than just a good beat. I will listen to a lot of different music, but most all the popular music nowadays, is just boring. Whether it is pop, country, or Rock, there is just not much to it other than a beat.
Bluegrass I really enjoy though. The FATT acronym sums it up just right. I like that one for the pop country!
Beautiful music. A special compliment goes to the cinematographer. The light is set so beautifully that it drives you out into nature.
I was expecting the good ol orange blossom special, well this really took it to another level.
Fantastic.
Yup as mention per last piece, Americas got "real" talent! Here they are!
Natural blessings!
I started to realized I only listened to old ass music and tried looking up new bluegrass bands.... I am not disappointed 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks so much
This is beyond bluegrass. This is immortal.
That’s some fine finger work there, young lady. Good to see the younger generation playing some good bluegrass. Keep it, guys. 👍👍
One of my favorite songs. WELL done! Really great!!
I could listen to this all day! It's great to see everyone look so happy doing their thing.
America is truly a beautiful country. So many regions each with their own music, dialect, cuisine, and art.
these guys and girls are awesome, love this Band.
From the UK. worked 5 years in Virginia. This made me homesick. Absolutely brilliant!!
I keep finding myself going and listening to this time and time again. 😊
You guys are nothing but the BEST!!!!!
Emily, I was raised country, out on a farm in the middle of nowhere. My grandfather was a fiddle man.
Country & Gospel was all I knew.
Went off to major in music on a full scholarship.
I was away out of my wheelhouse.
BUT, if 100s of hours of listening to Classical music had been played like that, I would have been right at home!
Love Bluegrass music, great arrangement.
Hot! The train they're fiddling up is really burning up the rails. Thanks y'all.
Damn, first time hearing them and they are damn good at keeping it alive.
Breath taking. Just bloody brilliant.
You are all unbelievable musicians!
I was replaying this before the band finished! Don't stop!
Can't help but smile while listening.
Love that the banjo player just lets his music talk for him. That one should play poker....
