5” NSW18 class Thomas the Tank Engine Live Steam - trials

Followers of my channel will note a video of an 18 class chassis running on air some months ago. Here is the product, Thomas in the guise of an Australian, New South Wales railways 18 class, a scaled down live steam locomotive like the one at Thirlmere. The locomotive is 5” gauge to a scale of 1.125” to the foot. It is not intended to look anything like an E2, but is basically the Australian equivalent of Thomas. Valve events are not as good as they could be, and some redesign is required in that area, however it was built in a hurry for my daughter’s birthday party. When time permits my intention is to rework the valve gear for better valve events and steam distribution.
