  • Today we build two automated farms! An auto wheat and sugarcane farm both powered by villagers. Wait what, villagers harvesting sugarcane? Yep, we befriend some villagers and they help us farm these crops. We also find a mysterious message from an unknown source. What could it mean?

      I mean it is a nifty design and I love a good cosmetic design. But it's not the most efficient design, if your goal is pure resources. Altough with the limits I dont know how much more one could improve using a villager as the trigger.

    What I love about this is getting the villagers permission to use them in the farm, rather than throwing a few in the back of your windowless black van and take them to their cell. The ethics of villager based farms have always bugged me a tiny bit at the back of my mind.

      Same here. I try set up villages for free roaming employees when i can.
      The exception is Librarians. When i need a book i don't want to try to track down that one who sells it. Especially when they start swapping work stations. So i just try to think of Librarians as bureaucrats. Once i made that mental switch it didn't bother me to lock them in a 1x1 room with no bed. ;)

    In my world I don't use the nether roof and I don't dupe tnt, this has made me make a perimiter in the nether for piglins and make a very efficient blast chamber that connects to all of those type of farms, also consider using the auto crafting in the carpet mod it feels vanilla and opens up a bunch of redstone contraptions to design and build.

  • @sharangramakrishnan5402

    A suggestion for a rule:- use villagers very intensely compared to anything you have done before like for example you can get the most of your terracotta from masons, only get glass from librarian villagers instead of smelting sand when you get a decent emerald income and a decent librarian trading hall (which is kind of a positive thing), redstone from clerics, etc.
    And also I suggest making a one wide tileable trading hall for the series.

  • @shanemason8674
    @shanemason8674 Před 2 lety

    I think a good way to use villagers for sugar cane is to use them for both potato’s and sugars cane. Do the hopper Minecraft trick to collect potato’s from the village. Every time he goes to try and feed the other villager and throw him potato’s he steps on a pressure plate the triggers the pistons for the sugar cane. It’s a double win.

      I was thinking something similar. Observers and string will also fire twice: entry and exit, while a pressure plate would only fire once. So less piston noise and less inefficiency.
      But based on the ending of the video, he may have just needed an excuse to go to the Nether. Though all the comparators for those minecart dropoff stations would've been reason enough too.

  • @BYtheHORNsGaming
    @BYtheHORNsGaming Před 2 lety

    A challenge I've seen pop up over the last couple of years by way of a server rule in some servers is no elytra in the nether. The gameplay "reasons" have varied (a cool one I saw was putting an elytra on in the nether made you shoot up as if you had levitation with the reasoning being all the hot air makes the elytra act like a hot air balloon) but the intent is forcing you to really confront the terrain and inhabitants of the nether as you explore the structures, establish transportation infrastructure, and whatever else you'd be doing without having the ability to just fly off over a lava lake and be fine. Which paired with the no nether roof could make for a more interesting experience.

    They other day I combined a villager breeder with an iron farm, the head of the iron gollum burns in lava contained in a forge of a blacksmith house, the flames go up as he burn which is a nice feature . When I turn of the bopping zombie the villagers go breeding, they are in the basement together with the farmer who feeds them.
