I'm a fan of retro's, but, of all the 'modern' bikes, the NC range makes most sense to me, personally. In this country of 50mph limits this level of relaxed power and economy is in a sweet spot IMO. Wish they could get the weight down by another 15kg though. I'm going to have to get myself a test ride. I'd like one styled in the way of new CB neo range!
I like the foot pegs on the scooter! Makes sense for riding off-road. And for more control & comfort on the road. I can sit in the "chair position" about 45 minutes on my scooters before my back quits.
Other reviews noted the DCT on the new NC 750 lacks the sophistication of the DCT on the Goldwing and Africa Twin. What are the measurable differences?
I have a 2019 nc750x dct, love it! Why doesn't Honda put the X Adv upgrades on the nc750x to make it a smaller version of the Africa Twin?!!? đ€ŠđŒââïžjfc
How do you find the windscreen? Bad buffeting?
@@SteveWKk replaced original with givi windshield and givi windshield attachment. Combo works great for me! đ
Hoping against hope that one or both of these will be released in India and at affordable price point !
why NO cruise control? This would costs very little $$ to add to these bike that already have ride by wire controls.
Future upgrade ???
Tom G I totally agree!
Now that it has ride-by-wire you can just install your own, those kits are around $60
"No body is likely to take a NC750X off road" but a XADV scooter is fine for off road adventures.
My sentiments exactly!
The ADV tag on that scooter is misleading but i guess for folks who just want to putz around it on the highways, itâs still an adventure.
The NC750x can handle offroad duties well by adding 50/50 tires and skid plate and engine guards and radiator protection system.
@@razur9065 Because you never tried off roading with matics or scooters.

NC750X good for occasional off road rides?
Nice review. I do wish that the X-ADV750 was coming to North America ....specifically Canada.
Would love to see it here in the USA too!
@@marksalisbury5076 same in the USA
I think the 2021 NC looks a lot sharper than the outgoing version, and the lower seat helps improve the aesthetic of what was a bit of a lanky looking thing. Given the target market - those looking for an economical commuter/tourer - price will be crucial. Can't see Honda deviating too much from current prices.
I am wondering... did I hear you saying itâs âfull colour LCDâ on NC750X? I am not sure how this LCD is full colour, it looks monochrome to me to be honest
@Donaldo You didn't watch the video, did you?
@Donaldo It's on 2:09
My God I'm getting old I've found myself thinking nice set of panniers and top box and that NC would be a great bike!
Ha! The tell-tale sign is when you start considering practicality and riding position comfort over power and torque.
Cheers, Michael
hahaha.
Im only 22 yo and I'm already considering these type of bikes lol.
Maybe try a few nakeds and sports bikes first ? :-)
@@captainaverage721 I have a naked, but I want a more upright position even more than a naked lol. I plan to own multiple bikes in the future, so I will probably end up with every kind of bike out there.
I have a 2012 NC700X Honda for sale. Runs like new, recent service, new tires/chain/battery. Has a windscreen. 18,000 miles. 65-70mpg. Listed for $3500. Obo.
What city are you in?
Have thought about the XADV for last few years but thought they might have an upgrade with the the design and TFT from the Africa Twin. Donât know what it would be like to ride 40 years riding and never even been on a scooter. The XADV sort of sits in the middle really a motorcycle dressed in scooter clothing. The new changes might make it a real possibility now Iâm getting on a bit in years.
I've been running one for 8 months, its a hoot. Tours at sensible speeds, plenty of underseat storage and fun to ride. Try and sort out a test ride, well worth a proper look.
The coolest looking scooter I've ever seen :)
Will the XADV be available here in the USA?
Most likely not. If the Honda upper crust do not perceive at least 850 to 1250 units for the USA market on the first go around, they will leave it for the European market until it becomes soft. There thought is the US buyer won't pay the big bucks for a over priced scooter. And although it looks like a scoot, it really isn't !
They built in all the features of a ADV bike w/ DCT and adv wheels and tires and ergo's and then are to stupid to tap the market in the USA for which is was made for. This bike is perfect for older riders that want to get out in the back country on a reliable adv bike without having to straddle a 35-36 " seat height CRF450L and try and go balls to walls and relive there youthful days of long ago. And come on folks The baby boomer/bikers are the ones who could afford such a great ADV bike of this caliber and design.
I mean after all, there so scatterbrained as to only bring in the CT125 trail to the US market only in the RED trim, when 75% are more of the potential buyers are all screaming for the tan color. do you think there smart enough to get it correct regarding a marketing decision about one of the best products they have built in the last twenty years. Bottom Line most likely = " Stupid people have stupid ways and if your waiting for this scoot your wast'n your days "
@@davemorgan6327 I just hope Honda will do USA a favor and make it available. I been waiting for that day since I let go my Honda Silver wings. I have a DTC CTX-N meanwhile but I don't like it...
Will this be in the USA? We need the X-ADV750 in the USA
I'll be first in line to buy it!!!
Why on earth wouldn't they redesign the front end of the Nc? If it would look like the Xadv, it would have way more riders getting their wallets out.
Question... Have they fixed the seat slop ??
Was it bad before?
@@SteveWKk it is notorious problem for some people, each time you just end up with your nuts on your frunk and it's not that nice
Does anyone else think a slammed suspension travel, more streetified NC, just may signal a Corsica (halfway to Africa and a famous rally..... ) Twin on the way?
Im so mad us in the USA only get the smaller 150cc version of the XADV.
What a great bike the NC750x would be if it had at least 80hp
The hp is not a problem at all , brakes are the only problem.
@@silotx
The suspension is mediocre really.
The rear suspension sucks with two person riding and the front suspension could be better as well.
After being through two rear shocks I have now a Wilbers which is really good.
Rear brake sucks big time, front should have a second disc if you do a lot of mountain riding.
Safe rides đđđ
@@silotx the brakes are totally not a problem. Maybe you need to work on your skill? No bike will fix that.
Where do you put the fuel in?????
under seat
Holly poop, I must of have been living under a rock. I have never heard of an X ADV. Do they bri g it to the US? That is an off roading scooter. Crazy but super cool!
About the NC750X, I've always liked that bike. But, even though I am not a hardcore adventure rider, I am looking for a bike with a little more ADV spirit. I am planing a trip through Central and South America. I have seen plenty of videos of people doing the same and riding on some pretty rough dirt roads that you can find yourself in in third would countries. Can this bike handle that?
Plus, the lack of power is also a factor. At under 60hp how well could it handle all the extra gear in an efficient way?
And lastly, I get that Honda wanted the bike to lose some weight, but the extra space used for storage rather than gas definitely makes it a no go. Some of those those roads in the middle of some countries can be very long and lonely, with excessive miles in between stations. Some people carry extra fuel, but here the lack of power can show it's ugly face again.
I wish Honda had released a mid weight African Twin rather than just upgrading this bike. But since they turned this bike a road bike rather than an ADV, perhaps they did that to open room for a baby African Twin. I sure hope so!

The 2021 NC750X is a great all round bike. It can and does, like most modern bikes do most things really well. Sure itâs not a hard core adventure bike , but for real off road capability you need a CRF250, not even a Africa twin ! And who really takes even the AT seriously off road ? Itâs too big and too heavy thatâs why thereâs a CRF250. Itâs more than a commuter - itâs a fantastic all round bike - you can use it as a daily work horse, and you can tour on it. Yes other and much bigger bikes may do things a bit better - but itâs all relative - at ÂŁ7,500 brand new ( manual version) it makes a hell of a lot of sense and for most riders is more than enough. It has loads of torque in the right ranges, stick heated grips and panniers on and itâs hard to beat as a affordable package. CZcams is full of positive reviews and global touring evidence. Extremely comfortable, plenty of power, bullet proof reliability, and does what many other bikes do for often 3-5K less.
Anybody see the crappy factory weld @ :57 on the NC
Oh..TC mode,Oh... yes two Head light, and yesss...Rim 19 inch.
looks 17 to me
Where is the fule filler cap and fule tank of the NC and XADV
On the NC the tank is under the seat and towards the rear with the fuel cap under the pillion seat. on the XADV, the fuel cap is in between your knees.
Cruise control ?
No Cruise Control
@@Darren-Trim you can buy those to attach to the throtle, very easy and not expensive
@@p.santos6694 and dangerous as well
But the only thing the NC750XD really needs is an all-day comfortable seat !!!
X-ADV sounds better now, and a steering lock that can't be broken by turning the bars !!! Could this be the breakthrough bikers have been waiting for against bike thefts.
The problem is a lot of bikes are just thrown into backs of vans and then drive away maybe the clutch system steering lock in conjunction with a tracker
Put a tracker in it
I'm wondering, even though Honda can't be bothered to sell me the bike I want to buy (X-ADV), why the X-ADV gets a beautiful TFT display and the NC750 gets a crappy, old-tech LCD?
NC is MUCH cheaper.
@@ReValveiT_01 but ultimately, theyâre the same bike
@@motorbikemeditations6763 Yes, but the X-ADV has higher spec appointments such as a better TFT display, which is why it costs (much) more.
@@ReValveiT_01 The NC is positioned as an all round, sensible bike for most riders. The X-ADV for helmeted Armanis beating commuter traffic into Milano. The latter group, being much more willing to pay for strictly unnecessary fripperies which look, and possibly even feel, a bit more premium. It's a Toyota vs Lexus thing.
@@motorbikemeditations6763 they're far from the same bike. They have the same engine and that's where similarities end.
X-adv more interesting
Whereâs the other presenter
Still same brakes, honda please put 2 front discs and better suspension on nc, everything else is just cosmetic. I own nc700x 2012 and you still didnt change that. And start working harder on small africa twin
1. second disc would not add any performance, 2. it would increase the price and NC is meant to be cheap bike and that's why it sells so good.
Why wont Honda bring any of this to India?
maybe because of your sick import laws and taxes
@@domints Honda has been building and selling mediocre products in India, if KTM can design - develop and sell a compelling product . .. so can Honda . .. if they move above their mediocrity.
And you need to do some fact check on the import laws and tax structure
@@nishantmachhar well, you once agree with me that itâs true that youâve got terrible import laws and taxes to increase local production and then tell me to fact check... @@liberals_destroy_everythin2497 well , if is worked or not depends on how much value one gives to his / her time .

The ADV model looks like a scooter on steroids! The ADV tag is somewhat misleading, i canât see that bike going offroad.
We south asian love off roading with not for off road bikes. Because those not for off road bikes can do what GS and KTM adv bikes cant do.

read and stop moaning. That bike is more than capable of going off-road, you just have to stop being wussy about "only real adv bike can go off", probably riding R1200GS that never saw even bit of gravel not to mention anything harder.
@@domints i wasnât complaining about it just making an observation. I ride a Triumph Tiger 800 that has been off road plenty. Maybe you shouldnât read into these comments too much and assume you know anything about the person who wrote it you peckerhead.
People buy these for the economy, low-down torque and reasonable price. So Honda decide to raise the power, move it further up the rev range and reduce the economy....Jeez.
Agreed. I don't get that either. Perhaps, they sell more of them with DCT. It will explain the first gears shortening.
It still has practically the same down low power. Perhaps even an improvement power-to-weight. Indiscernible difference in economy in practice, just gearing which may not mesh quite as optimally with tests.
The added power comes from a higher redline, which is a very good development on the manual version, since you're less likely to bang into it midway through an intersection, overtake, whatever. Additional redline has no downsides, and some upsides, as long as it can be added with so little negative effect to anything else (I'm assuming reliability isn't harmed by the higher piston speeds. Honda generally seem to have good control wrt reliability, though.)
@@paulnorman8274 Paul, I don''t think we can be sure of any of the ( possibly valid) points you make until we see a power curve. The changed higher gearing is an attempt to recover the economy but the people who I know don't buy this bike for power. As for hitting the limit at an overtake or intersection I'd say anyone doing that needs to learn how to ride better.
G
How is it that every other maker can achieve power in the upper 90's HP from a 750/800cc engine, and yet honda can only manage the mid 50's. Why does Honda persist with this engine ? I did own a 2018 X-ADV and I can say from two years of ownership, that mid 50's hp doesn't make for an engaging ride, it's OK for town work, other than that, it's boring (I now have a Tiger 900 GT PRO, much more fun).
Its designed for the commuter/fuel saving market.....
That is partly true, but Honda and other manufacturers have bike which are not only much cheaper but are lighter and are equally frugal. Where these bike are suited (in my opinion) is for touring as they are comfortable and the X-ADV in particular offers really good weather protection, and could cruise all day long at 80 plus, but unfortunately, they are compromised in this role by their small tank, the most I could get from X-ADV was about 150 miles, and as I said, they are just not engaging away from touring.
@@gordonLP because HP is retarded measure and doesn't say anything about actual performance of engine.
Possibly, but is a good comparative guide against other bikes.
@@gordonLP except it doesnât compare anything. Itâs like comparing hammerâs ability to put in a nail by its handleâs length.
Is this a joke? 58 horsepower from 750 cc. Honda I'm sure you can more than that.
They probably figured power-to-weight similar to a Civic Type R, was good enough for a practical commuter/light tourer/weekend getaway bike.
Its literally a half an engine from a Honda fit......its designed to rev super low and let crazy good fuel economy.
yeah, so find another 750cc engine that has over 60Nm at 3000RPM. Good luck with that.
Not a fan of ride by wire and riding modes...
Neither is Honda. But, like them, you'll have no choice either......
This is not a review! Youâve just read from the Honda catalogue!
Where have we said it's a review?
Quite correct, it's not a review. Nobody in the world has ridden them yet except those employed by Honda to do so. I've read from our own article that accompanies this video that was released when the embargo was lifted on this news.
Thanks.
