- There are many shapes, sizes, and bristle types to choose from when searching for the right brush for your dog. In this video, I will break it all down for you and give you a better understanding of how to choose a brush when grooming dogs.
To simplify what brush type is best for your dog, consider your pet’s coat type first.
Slicker brushes for heavy coats and shedding breeds, boar bristle brushes for dogs with short coat types, and pin brushes for silky long-coated dogs.

Are there any specific brands that are a good choice for home? I have a Chorkie or she could be a Yorkipoo.and not really sure what to use on her. The small plastic slicker brush I have does pull out some fluffy undercoat when I use it, but I'm not sure that is the best thing to use. Wish we could post photos LOL!

CZcams is a huge place. You have to realize there are so many people in this world and you have to have thicker skin and stick to your values.💖
I have 2 sisters from the same litter. They are silky cockers. Cocker spaniel and Maltese.
One has smooth silky coat and the other one is curly. What type of brush would be best? I have a pin brush with shorter nylon bristles and I have a long slicker brush.
Start brushing with the long bristle slicker brush to remove dead hair and follow up with the pin brush.
......... I have a Chinese crested. She gets blackheads. I try to bath her every 2 weeks and put coconut oil on her skin. Do you have a "wash cloth" recommendation for cleaning pores?
I have a Newfoundland and have a longer slicker brush. Should I purchase a short bristle slicker?
Longer bristles are great for the Newfie coat.
I have a job interview tomorrow as a bather groomer trainee. I own an Aussue and MAS and do all of my own bathing and grooming at home. What advice if any do you have for someone just starting out?
Get really good at bathing brushing and drying before moving into clipper and scissor work. Master prepping all coat types.

I can honestly say the majority of groomers have some crazy to them 😂
