- Groom your dog like a Professional...here are My SECRET Steps to GROOM ANY DOG! The Idea is to always perform the steps of a groom in the same order no matter what breed or coat type you are grooming.
This eliminates the possibility of you forgetting or skipping a step. Today I will share with you the exact steps I follow every day for every groom…and have put it all together in a demo that is easy to follow.
Here are the order and steps I follow to avoid dog grooming clipping mistakes.
• Clipper work first! All body, head, and leg clipping first...meaning if I use an "A" comb over a #30 blade....I complete all the clipping with that blade.
• Next, I may use a larger snap-on comb on the head and cheeks. So I will switch to that blade or comb and complete all clipping with that comb.
Hint...you can use either a 10, 15 or 30 blade under your guard combs
• I use a # 10 under my attachment combs which makes it easy when it's time for my #10 blade work...corner of eyes, sanitary, armpits, and ear lobes..which is the next step for clipper work.
• The last step of clipper work is to shave the pads of the feet...I use a detachable #30 blade for this step with my Wahl km 10 clipper but you can use a 10, 15 or 30 blade or use your 5 in 1 clipper for this step.

I feel extremely blessed to have come across your channel, and have been thoroughly enjoying all of your videos. I worked at a groomers 25 years ago for a couple of years and I was never taught alot of the things im learning from you. I have been a, dog rescuer for many years and shipped peoples personal pets from coast to coast. I love dogs, and cats. Where i live theres a huge need for groomers. My husband is building me a very nice self contained grooming trailer, and I finally at 52 years of age feel like im going to be doing what i was meant to do. Finding out however, there is more i need to learn and i'm getting that from you. Thank you for this!! My question is do you groom cats? I have always believed unless they are show cats dont do it, cats groom themselves already, mine does. I do however brush him daily to elemenate some of the shedding and furballs. what is your position on grooming cats, and any personal advice as i begin working for myself in this honorable profession? I adopted an almost 8 year old mini-schnauzer 2 months ago and even though the people I got her from said they groomed her regularly she refuses to let me groom her head and face. She also doesn't let me do much with her feet. Any ideas for how to get her to relax so I can groom her more easily? I had another mini-schnauzer before and he was great at letting me groom him.
