Feel so weird watching this haha, haven't skated since I was about 7 (My brother did it so I obviously thought it was the coolest thing ever) and now I'm 15 thinking of getting back into it for real
Same
@Alan formula1, I'm 39 and just getting back into it. I don't really care what other people think, but I can definitely say it's a little harder to get back up to speed when you're older.
just for remembering this comment.
your probably 22 now
@@AK-ox3mv yeah
Can ya please help me? Should I skate naked or is it better with clothes? Cheers!
Mark Hawes Keep your shorts on and skate. Cheers, Flood!
wow i cant remember posting this or why i asked such a question! !!???😕
Mark Hawes lmaoo
Naked..i have a beer gut and a 2inch dick..the ladies seem to love it
Naked works best trust me
I don't know why I am watching this.
YOUR HEIGHT AND WEIGHT DONT MATTER JUST GET A SIZE YOU LIKE XD
Start with an 8.0 and decide from that if you want to go smaller or larger
thats a really tiny person filming XD
Great job guys. Best video on skateboard guide so far since other idiots make 99 videos over the nearly same thing but to make more money.
Greedy doesn't win shit. Great job putting all into 1 video.
After 10 years I come across this video one that brought me many years of fun
this is very helpful. this guide already helped me to develop my preferences.
I'm 21 160 lbs. any recomendations? Don't know much about skateboards
I'm 12 and I skate an 8" and that's actually perfect for me. It is most people's preference so I recommend getting an 8" - start off with something like a Route One own brand :)
Matt Bees The board my son wants is an 8.25 is that too big? He's 11 and turing 12.
+liam rappleye honestly, I'd say it is but if he's tried it before and it's good for him, that's good but it's all up to preference. I recommend 7.75" to 8.125".
+liam rappleye some people like bigger sizes I know 12 year olds that ride 8.5s and they kill it and I also know 18 year olds that ride 7.5s and they kill it really it depends on how comfortable you are
LowBudget Productions I see Gorillaz fans everywhere, I can't escape them
I'm just getting a board for riding down to classes for college. I'm not courageous for tricks and so on. Would I be okay with a cheap store brand?
buy a penny or nickel board they are meant for riding around
Thank you :)
no problem
you could also get a longboard , they are really really good. but A Penny board is better since it feels like a long board and you can take it anywhere since its small.
yeah that it why i don't like longboards since they are so huge
"welcome to a lifetime of fun" DAMN RIGHT!
I just got a board from my local shop, and this vid helped out alot, thank you.
Did anyone else notice him smiling when he said "Put your nuts on"? LMAO
im 12. weight 190kilos. height 70cm what kind of board should i get?
i have diabetes.
I cant get up from bed with out help of two other people.
+einsteinium99 HAHAHAHAHA
+Jammy_ Why you laught... that is serious problem m8.
My first board was an 8' Blue print spray heart team edition now ive gone for a beautiful 7.5' death skull deck and its beauitful .... All brought from route One in guildford ... thank you ROUTE ONE
Great vid. Havent skated since the early 90s and going to try again now as a 34 year old (ouch). Difficult to get an oversight though, but this vids helps a lot to refresh some memories and get some new info. Nice tutorial at the end as well. Cheers.
idk what brand to buy,so many choices D:
try walmart lel
Tejas Kaladi ooff couuurse
buy death wish, zero or if ur tight on cash superior or girl
First comment since 1 year lmao
@Jackie Vega .I think that your best bet too buying a board is going to a local skate shop. When most people buy there first board they go to a shop to see, and feel the different sizes and shapes of the boards. Considering that you have smaller feet you may feel better on a smaller width board, but it's really up to your how comfortable you are on the board
very helpful, couldnt have asked for a more insightful vid, cheers boi
I showed this to my mom a while back and it helped convince her to buy me a skateboard thanks for this video
yeh thanks ive already sorted it out and your people were really helpful :)
It.s cool ya try to take the time to reply to alot of ppl.. Lots of respect from here.
this was an awesome video!
i ordered a complete plan b board online, iv only skated a couple times on my friends old board but im excited to start!
No worries, glad to be of help!
thank you! ive been looking for days typing in stuff like 'the best skateboards for street' and ive found nothing but did get some boards in mind. this video has told me everything i need at the moment, you told it so i could understand it to, some people try to be to technical. really glad you decided to put this out though anyway! is there any brand you would reccomend for buying street skateboards? or doesnt it work like that i just know i cant use wide board they feel miles to heavy on me
sick vid, I love to skate and anyone that doesn't skate should give it a try.
Birdhouse skateboards (Tony's brand) are great. Penny/retro boards are great for cruising but not really designed for tricks. Hope that helps!
great information mate thanks
Thanks for the feedback! i'll definetely take that into consideration
I'd really go on what trucks seem to turn best for you as all trucks grind well. It's worth remembering that putting Grindking kingpins in your trucks will drastically reduce kingpin height & stop hang ups from the kingpin occuring.
Both. Theyre called speed rings and combined with bearings spacers they allow you to tighten your axel nut all the way down while keeping the bearing rolling smoothly. this lenghtens the life of your bearings and increases stability while keeping your wheels quieter.,
love the music fits with every video
They're for if you like skating high up, or if you have big wheels and when you turn they snag on the deck, the risers obviously raises the trucks from the decks and stops that :)
good video, really helped.
my favourite boards by far are deathwish and plan b 8.25+ just coz plan b pop lasts forever and i've had at least 14 deathwish boards and loved them all!!
This helped alot. Thank you very much
Blanks are great for a beginner as they allow you to get skating without spending too much. Once you decide that you love skateboarding & know what size is comfortable for you you can then go out & support your favourite board brand by buying a graphic deck.
i Have the enjoy board with the panda and its great for smaller people
the mark of the board with the panda is Enjoy :)
Rado Boxera i know but if i said enjoy not every1 would know
A 7.5 may well be ok but a 7.75 or even an 8 might offer a bit more stability. Best bet is to stand on a few boards, maybe try a 7.5 this time & then get a 7.75 next time. Eventually you'll decide on what size is best for you.
Glad to hear it!
This video is awesome.
i need some help, im 5'4" and i wear a size 7-7 1/2 shoe. What size board should i get? how narrow or curved should it be? im planning to do some street skating and some skate park skating so what height trucks should i get? and what size wheels and how soft or hard should they be? also any brand suggestions for the stuff above? i would really appreciate the help thanks :)
I've been skating for 7 years and my shoe size is also a 7.5, I've skated tons of boards but i think an 8 is my favorite size. It takes time to get used to it but eventually you'll just start to love how wide it is, so yea go ahead.
Sick mate! Good boards those are.
Hopefully one of you guys could help me a little bit before I go shopping!
I'm 6 foot and weight about 150lbs with size 9 1/2 shoes. Not a fan of longboards (I'd rather ride a skateboard) and I'm just planning on using it to ollie here and there but mostly ride it (no fancy tricks). Any suggestions on the sizes for board and wheels?
Glad you like it mate!
Cool video man.
Thank you! Good video
this video helped me a lot
Nice to see a decent shop and amazingly it's here in the UK unless the two in it have buggered off to the USA?
Hey, i recently bought a board like the one at the minute 8:04... Toy machine wood, and wheels. I felt it pretty good but i want to know your opinions about this kind of skateboards.
My setup: creature 8.75, spitfire classics 56mm, Ace trucks 55s, mob grip, bones reds, bones medium bushings......perfect setup for both street & parks :)
This is soooo help full I got a descent one for my first board just to know if I like skating or not and I am getting to make my own board for Christmas :{)
If you're just starting then yeah, that's fine. They're not the best boards but they certainly do the job whilst you decide if you're into it or not. Hope you enjoy yourself mate, skateboarding is rad!
Custom boards are a good way too go if you know how to put them together, all the things you've chosen sound good but I would recommend redz bearings though. Also a good idea would be too buy a skate tool.
You could be putting too much weight on your toes or on your heels, this will cause the board to turn or it might just be that your bushings haven't broken in yet. Bushings are the rubber bit of the truck & like everything rubber they take a little while to fully break in. Maybe slacken your trucks off a bit - this might help. Either way, keep skating down the street & eventually everything will be alright. All the best!
Maybe try an 8.25, it's bigger so should help with the heel hanging off but isn't too big a step that would take ages to get used to. Hope that helps!
What size is best for me? I'm 5'2 and my shoe size is 9. Also, I'm not too sure what type of board I want, I am using it for transportation to school but I do want to do a few tricks.
Really good video
I cant wait to start :D
I bought mine when I was 11 or 12 I haven't used it in a while but now Ik how to do it properly but it's still winter so... I can't wait for summer aha
I'm 16 130lbs and want to get back into skateboarding, I recieved a 8.25 deck and think it might be too big. Any thoughts on if I should get a smaller one? I plan on mostly flip tricks. Any response would help
I buy loads from your ship (RouteOne) keep making boards and keep skating everyone
Cool at the start!
this vid is so helpful
i bought a 8.5 just yesterday i love it. its a Girl one the brand girl its awesome
I remember watching this back in the day
Hey, so I'm 5'5 1/2, 115 pounds, and wear a shoe size 7 1/2 or an 8. What size should I get? I'm not going to really use it for tricks just riding around, I read online a cruiser would fit just right for what I'm looking for.
what was the comeplete board when he was talking about if you should buy you seperate or not
@AnimMations, you usually get two, and one is supposed to go to the bolt, and one for the truck. Hoped it helped.
thanks for the advice man
This video... Was perfect.
lol been skating 15 years and I am watching. Can I just come by that shop you got there?
Age = definitely middle-age plus. Weight 296 pounds. Shoe size = UK 11. Longboards more suitable? What are the best trucks, wheels and bearings - change stock bushings? Broadside & roadside? Cruising/curving for oldies are recommended?
Yeah, should be easy enough to get round. Remember, it'll all come with practice & having fun!
Probably go for something smallish. Maybe a 7.5 or a 7.75. Best bet is to stand on a few boards first & see what feels comfortable.
Deck: Get a 7.5 deck, that is the average board (deck brand does not matter as long as it is a pro deck such as: Blind, Zero, Girl etc.)
Trucks: This is mainly preference but I like tensor and Royal
Wheels: You're gonna spitfire or bones
Barrings: I recommend anything above abec 5
Grip Tape: Grizzly grip is the best out there
Hope this helps :)
5'5 size 10 shoes what board street skating and do you get wheels which work good on ruff ground no smooth surface where I live
hey I'm 5'11 and weigh 55kg, shoe size is 8-9 what should I go for?? I want a board to cruise AND have fun at the park with
great video
that setup is nice
Im a very small kid. 11 years old, 4"3', and im 62 pounds. My board is heavy and too large for me and I cant flip it fast enough. Im more of a street kid. Do you have any suggestions on what to look for?
Dang thanks alot very helpful.
cheers mate just wondering if it was ok. should be getting the perfect skateboard for christmas :) really need a new skateboard because i have a zinc. wanted a cheap one just for starting off. can u tell me what tricks i should learn on it before i get a £115 skateboard plz
I'm kinda new at skateboarding I no how o Ollie I have a Walmart board right now and I'm thinking on getting a better one I want it to be light I'm like 5'1 95 pounds size 7 shoe I will be skating mostly in my driveway and streets what should I get I thinking about a full set because I don't think I'm ready for a build it yourself one ? Help plz
This is like one of those old school educational videos you had to watch in school, but instead of shitty facts I don't want to learn about, this is something I do want to pay attention to lol
I'm 16, 5ft 3 inches and 96. My shoe is a size 8(women). What size do you think I should buy?
im 9 4"1 and 600 pounds. Should i get 53 mm wheels or 54 mm wheels.
it really doesnt matter its all on what you prefer. i am 5'6 and i ride an 8.5 and love it. the only difference with big and little boards that i find is little boards are easy to flip but dont flip very nice. on the flip side bigger boards suck as 8" or bigger are harder to flip but they flip a lot cleaner. just try different board sizes out and see what one you like
Brilliant!
good luck! its a lot of fun but there sure is a lot of hard work. you should definitely start skating :D
rum are rennet boards good to get I've skateboarded befour but i haven't for ages but can kick flip and stuff, I'm 14 and i want to should i get a rennet or not what are good
Hi guys. I wanna ask about the board
Im 14 and im 161cm tall. My shoe size is 9 in US size. I have 8 inch board. Is that too big or not? Should i buy the smaller one?
I'm 13 121 pounds 5'8 tall shoe size 10 and my board size is usually 8 what setup do you guys recommend?
im the same and i ride a 7.75 deck. for vert you want rather thick wheels, 55 mm or more, for street get below 55 mm. the ends of the trucks should reach the edge of the board but no less. bearings, get bones reds, they are the best
Bulgaria ,the capital City Sofia and the big building in the start of the video is called NDKa!!Famous skate spot in Bulgaria :)
I am 6"1 and have a shoe size of 12-13 (whether the shoe runs small or large)
I am planning on purchasing a custom separate:
Baker 8.25"
Independent Stage 10 149mm
Bones 54mm 100s
Speed Metal Slayer Bearings
Mob Grip
CCS Hardware
I think it is acceptable for me, although I currently ride a 8" with 7.5" trucks. I desire more stability for landing but in the sense of more room on the board (i.e. width). Does this seem like a good match for my intentions? (street, park, flips, grinds)
i am new to skating and just wrecked one of those cheap ones for 20euro and i was talking to my friend and he said i should spend about 100-150 to get the best,is he right and if so what type should i get because i will be in the streets and in the skate parks and will try all tricks and grinding.what type do you think i should get?
