I think ED is the perfect example of a well balanced characters. Not the overly aggressive DR all over the screen but rather controls the pace. Wish the upper tiers were more like this
He doesn't have a good reversal, his dp is too slow, lvl 1 too slow, no overhead, shortest jab in the game, bad low options, and is still the most fun character in the game and manages to be balanced and not gimmicky. Too good
I like playing him but he has too many holes in his kit, that makes him unecessary complicated. I think he could be great and for people who don't play him much, I guess it looks impressive as in the trailers but it's always a gamble, you have to have two two rulers and a stopwatch attached to the screen and this doesn't need to be the case. They should cut down his frames a little, he still has long start ups and recoveries for his minimal damage, at least his light DP should come out faster, his LP should have a normal range and he needs an overhead and he's fine.

Ed I feel is the one character in this game that is actually designed around playing neutral. Like Capcom specifically made his zoning a bit of a gamble, his up close pressure pretty lackluster with obvious holes and with as little neutral skipping as possible (basically just ex flicker which is not without it's weaknesses). They want you to play Ed with a whiff punish heavy gameplan and patience to take your risks with care. Which of course compared to the top tiers that do have better ways to play with less risks and less neutral it's difficult for him to thrive. Personally I would improve his jav, light DP and movement speed, like if you want me to whiff punish and play strike throw please let me walk my opponent without that much risk. Also maybe f HP should have slightly less recovery on whiff, that move is not that rewarding to have such a weakness
@@BiggBossChanel Since Capcom seems to be very aware what the community is thinking, it showed a couple of times, and we all have pretty much the same thought about Ed, I hope they agree. If they fix these things we all name ooor the top tier characters around him and Ryu and other mid tiers then we'll have a great second season. I love his playstyle, it's a strange but fitting idea they made this itteration of the character, like they've done with their new ones (judo/ballet, sprayer/ninja, drunken fighter/breakdancer) but like you mentioned I'd also like him to lean a bit more to his close up boxer side than his psycho power zoner side. He's the only boxer we have so far, it would be appropriate.

One thing a lot of people don't realize about Jamie is that the drinks are a huge part of his mind game. I understand that you're basing your opinion on tournament results but I don't think Jamie deserves being bottom tier. The drinks to me is part of his pressure game because most players will be so busy trying to stop him from drinking, they throw themselves off and get caught by many of Jamies moves and then when he gets them on knockdown then he can get his sip or go for throws or do low roundhouse kick. Its all a part of the fun of playing Jamie and without his drink mechanic, he will lose that guess pressure. I see a lot of players try to wait for me to drink then I go in for Drive Rush lows or overheads. I think Jamie at least deserves Low rank at 0 - 1 drink, Mid on 2-3 drinks and A rank at 4. That command grab is so broken bro. Even saw a Jamie player do an infinite combo on me. So he has that as well and lets not forget he regains drive meter when he has devil within or 4 drinks. Also devil within also refills a lot of drive meter while he is at 4 drinks.
@@mappybc6097 Mena has been using Blanka from the start. Right now It's not just Mena. Problem X got 2nd at a major in Europe using Blanka, that tournament had Tokido and Endingwalker and other top EU players in attendance. And he beat Punk in LCQ for Capcom Cup going all Blanka in grands

I love playing Honda he got some cool shit, but yeah he's horrible high level its a nightmare to play him at times. Can't wait to cook with him at combo breaker gonna be my first big boy tournament
Very nice list. My take is that if a character is A or above, it's normal to see them win tournaments. B-tiers can show up at Top 8s, but rarely win. C-tiers and below rarely show up at the top, and never win. If they win, it becomes headline FGC news, like SnakeEyes at CPT.
Man, the Blanka down play is GOAT tier lol . Du broke down the 2 touch situation (which much feels like O.D. Amnesia pre-patch). St.RH is possibly the best normal button anti-air?! Its got my vote! His level 3 alone? Yeah, nuff said. His kit IS ACTUALLY OD, WITHOUT the tech!!! It truly does feel like CvS2 Blanka, which I will admit, is a large part of my disdain for this character lol. He needs tweaking, thats all. Key word NEEDS though. lol
Season 2 Ryu probably will be more like shoto zoning version of Marisa. Ryu get denjin stock, he doesn't care and he get in, Marisa level damage. And if Ryu wants to take away your drive meter, he would just loop 5hp -> high blade kick, it just take away so much drive meter, comparable to Marisa.
I prob just don't know how to play against her but I don't understand how to play against Lily. Shes basically plus on everything and can go through fire balls I just don't get what you can do.
You have to drive reversal when she does her charged moves. After that you are on your own trying to punish her while she doesnt have anything charged.

I've seen like 4 of these lists so far and I'm pleasantly surprised that everyone seems to agree Marisa is very well-balanced where she is. Hits hard but can't answer to pressure very well
Juri is S tier..idk how ppl have her any lower. Her only problem against zoning is Guile, Luke, and JP, literally the best zoners, lol. Problem is shes so used to bullying that when they have to play they get nervous lol. If you only have issues with S tiers, youre S tier lol. Shes just at the bottom of it.
This. Her level 2 is the best now that Rashid's level 2 has been nerfed. Even better than Blanka's. There's just so much mental stack when that thing activates.
Nah completely disagree, she should be at the top of A but her problems go deeper than both Chun and Cammy. She's still good but not as good as the top tiers in the game right now
TLDR, You’d understand chun’s weaknesses if you played her, her representation in tourney doesn’t show top 5 I can’t see where this chun overplay comes from. Most her normals are stubby her hk and hp aren’t cancellable. Her dmg isn’t higher than any shoto and only blows you up in corner like every1 else. Aerials so weak it doesn’t reliably connect into hk, bad hitbox for jump ins. That slow fireball she likes to wall behind is slow start up and recovery, punish countered by any anti fireball move or jump in on reaction. Fmp has good range but looses to spacing with heavies and rly good fireballs which is what it needs to compete with bc her heavies are mediocre at best. No target comboes make actually getting dmg off reaction in neutral expensive. Lmk is shorter range than most characters, and those who it is larger than likely don’t space with Lmk. Ifchun was this crazy she’d be more prevalent in tournies like deejay, Ken, guile, jp, AND NO WHERE NEAR LUUUUUKE.
I think its fair though, Manon has to literally get a command grab in while Jamie can just sit back whole screen away and chug at will plus now having grabs and other moves that allows him to drink. I think they should let him start every round after first with 1 drink. The drink mechanic is part of his trolling pressure game that throws people off. I wouldn't want him starting every round at 4 drinks.
That’s not the problem. The problem is even at level 4 drinks… Jamie doesn’t reach those levels of the top or even high tiers. He does all this work to still lose. Keeping the drinks would be unbalanced yeah, but at the same time he doesn’t reach god tier character when it takes him a while to get all drinks
Manon getting in and earn a successful command grab is a lot harder than Jamie getting a drink. So it's fair that Manon keep her medal for next round while Jamie didn't keep his drink level, considering Manon shortcomings such as doesn't have wake up reversal (Jamie has), kinda stubby normals (Jamie has great normals), short DR, don't have reliable move to get through projectile (Jamie has breakdance), and more. Jamie can get easy drink just from normal throw or do crouch MK > target combo. Heck, Jamie Super lvl 2 gave him temporary lvl 4 drink.
Can we name the top tier category Luke from now on no matter what's the topic? So, in other fighting games and non fighting games or lists that don't have anything to do with games at all. I think blanka doll and air ball is what made blanka so powerful. The lengthy limbs and anti air baiting rainbow ball already put him on a pretty good spot. But giving him tools to mixup into half health combo in the wall is what increased his tier
Pretty solid tier list honestly, I don't know why people are going so rabid in the comments. Only thing I'd change is putting Guile in S tier. He's the only character that can consistently negate the games most offensive mechanic (Drive Rush) I think that's definitely worth putting him in S.
I agree with your comments on Dhalsim. He is just a horrible tournament type of character because of poor matchups against certain characters (just like Zangief). Characters that are well rounded tend to do well in the big tournaments. This game relies so much on pressuring your opponent in the corner, so when Jamie is drinking he is NOT pressuring and taking advantage in the corner situation. This is why Jamie's match tends to be longer because he needs to do multiple drink setups.
36:28 "Blanka beats Guile"???!! Bro, even MenaRD as well as any best Blanka player in the world states that Guile IS Blanka's stronger Counter. MenaRD being able to stomp other Guiles might given the wrong idea but it is due to his constant practice vs Caba and it doesn't make Blanka suddenly good at that matchup, just MenaRD being amazing player. This Tier List seems perfect, I 100% agree on it.
No, Chun is not S tier. She is A tier. No one has one a major tourney. That means she is strong but not without some issues like floaty jump, mid health, and some top tiers have slightly better buttons. She is top 4-6 tier.
She is not top 10. There is a reason no one uses her, and she doesn't win. She isn't better than Marisa. Guile is better. And neither of them is top 4-6
I haven’t played in a couple of weeks but I’m mentally preparing myself to learn AKI is S2. I love Kimberly, but in diamond the reward just isn’t there for the amount of effort I put into winning the neutral. I feel like I have to win way more situations than my opponent all the time.
I still can't imagine why a few keep placing Dee Jay on top of Ken. There are only two probable reasons: they have never played Dee Jay and seen his clear flaws, or they don't know how to fight him. When you play Ken, you can do anything. You have defense against anything, and you have several moves that solve two or more situations with a single option. Yes, unlike Luke, he requires some degree of execution, but tiers are built around what characters can do when played perfectly. Dee Jay, on the other hand, doesn't have a level one that can save him in burnout, his level 2 has a slow startup, so can be bated with a ligt punch, has no low medium into DR (actually, not only that, but his low forward is really slow and short compared to Ken's, for example), has no overhead to pressure from DR, has few cancellable normals that are not susceptible to DI, has a charge DP and some angles at which opponents will jump at you comfortably and force you to a throw-hit mixup (because you don't have a broken normal as Luke's crouching HP), and his last nerf made his scrubbiest move (sway-low) way too risky to spam. If you put all of these weaknesses together, train hard enough to punish his DR (it's really not so hard, especially if you're playing Ken, Luke, JP, Marisa, or Manon), and keep spacing right, he simply has no way of opening you. I challenge anyone to come up with a comprehensive list of flaws for Ken. You won't make it half as long as the one I've made.
They should make Jaime keep half the drinks for second round, so if you got 2 drinks you start with 1 and so on. In the case you got three make him start round two with two drinks. Gameplay would remain similar cause even starting at two drinks you would want to get the rest. How things are now you get to 4 drinks when you have already destroyed your opponent
I agree with Kimberly tier placement but Dhalsim, Lily and Gief all won CPT events, tournament results is an indicator of strength and meta, and while we may feel Kimberly is better than gief/sim/lily results say otherwise. I put her at the bottom of C or at the top of D.

I agree and disagree on some here....first no there is NO LUKE TIER, yes he is the best character but not like in SFV that no character had any chance of beating him.....here many does, Ken, Blanka, JP, Guile, Juri, Chun and Cammy can stand to him and beat him, so he is just S tier to me......JP even with nerfs is STILL S TIER cause the issue with him was never damage output, yes was insane before but the issue is, YOU CAN GET CLOSE TO HIM, even the characters that supposed to be bad match ups he eat them, Luke, Cammy, Juri, oh yeah Mena destroyed Kakeru, tell me who other Blanka have done that?....no JP is broken and need still nerfs. Guile I not going to say he is S, but he beat Cammy, sorry you can't even bait his Flash kicks, with Light Divekick as that move have so horizontal huge hitbox cover half of the screen and his buttons are ridiculous, to me he is the 7 in the game, so I move him 1 spot over cammy (as JP is on S and Luke as well)......the rest....Agree, I think this very accurate, so my top tier would look almost the same only differences are: STier: Luke, Ken, DJ, Blanka, JP, Chunli ATier: Guile, Cammy, Juri, Rashid, Marisa (no dude common B tier my butt with that damage output and so easy no brain required gameplay strategy). If it's my tier, i would put Ryu, Jamie, Kim, and Dhalsim at B tier. They're definitely not weaker than Marisa, Ed, and AKI. And Vesper, no way in hell Rashid at B tier when he has one of the best Super and mixed up in the game. Rashid at least A tier.
No dhalsim is good they're just a bunch o scared spammers, with that said, his tp is ridiculous, he can tp after some air attacks i barely win against one bc they're all scared bitches and can't stop teleporting And to be fair blanka was misplaced he is top one no doubt, especially bc of that bullshit air ball
Guile is great, but those timing based combos are useless to me, cannot do those for the life of me... without these difficult combos damage is crap. But yeah, top tier if you are are godlike...
Ken was not as good as Luke and he now is definitely not as good as Luke, but along with Cammy and Guile I think there is a larger S-tier. Cammy's weakness seems to be a few other top tiers wielded by the best players in the world. And a Guile with great reactions like NuckleDu or Lexx can shut so many characters down that I think he is S-tier. I also love the AKI placement. She takes work, but is very solid when you know how to play her (which I don't).
Look I get that when comes to tier list the characters on the top is consider to be the strongest but why do yall tend to put 1 character that's either strong or weak it's own tier list? Just leave it how it is and just put Luke in S, like we get it that his buttons are great and he does a absurd amount of damage but the other characters before him do almost the same thing but in a different way and has other elements to them. Putting Luke in his own tier just says he's the most broken character ever when he isnt really cause he's not winning many tournaments and other characters are capable of beating him that are played by players that have the almost skill set as the other player. Most of he would be banned of how broken his kit is like he's the final boss like Akuma in SFII turbo. I'm sorry that this comes off as a tangent and I'm not trying to downplay Luke in a way but this just urks me in way whenever someone does a tier list like this and leaves 1 character a tier list on there own. If a character is in top tier it doesn't specifically means that their unbeatable and if they are bottom tier that doesn't mean they can't win any matchups. Here's the thing my friend, when you're so used to playing strong characters like Luke and Juri, sometimes you can forget what its like to really have to struggle or "find ways" to adapt to certain uphill battles. As you know, Luke does not "struggle" against anyone. He may not have a super high easy win rate over a certain character, but, he has so many tools and is so strong that even if he has to work a little bit harder, the confidence you have and are able to still compete with no worries can muddle your thoughts on the reality of the current situation. Juri as well, but not as strong as Luke. Now compare this to me and a few others who main Manon since the game released. It has been an absolute uphill struggle going against the majority of the cast and constantly having to outplay people over and over and over. No plus on block normals, no projectile, worst drive rush in the game (arguably), no OD reversal, on and on and on and on bro. Im not doubting your personal skill, but I am saying you have no idea what its like to play a low tier character for the majority or all of the first year and have to struggle in every match and almost every situation favors the other characters.

And while yes I do %100 agree he does not struggle as much cause he has every tool imaginable but those tools don't often win every match espically against some certain characters that are actually brain dead and makes it easy for players to abuse with say E. Honda, I know he's not really great in this game but he still annoying to fight whenever (some)players spams his buttslam & headbutt. What's more is that aside from Luke & Juri I started to learn Lily cause she is also simple to use but not that very great. Her CR.MK is horrible to use and I'm glad Capcom is addressing that from the leak patch notes that I learn & she has hardly any tools aside from Condor Spire to get past fireballs which is gonna be more problematic for her when Akuma drops. Speaking of which Akuma is probably gonna be on the same boat as Luke with how not much of struggle to as for he is a fan favorite, yeah he has low health but that never has stop him before and neither will it be in SF6. And trust me when I say as someone that feels ya when your having to deal with other characters like Luke that has every tool situated for every match, you're gonna have a field day/year when Akuma drops cause he's looking to over throw Luke for S tier spot and I'll be surprise he starts winning every tournament in the forceable future.
Marisa feels balanced, I like that I'm never out of a round and can always bring it back. But good lord that anti air is awful and getting LVL 1 on superman punch is insane
I think its hard to talk about Juri because of a combination of the character's placement and overall user base. Most people who play her aren't Aiai, they're sweaty sub fetishizers. She doesn't have the kind of flavor aesthetically people who like the game are concerned about but at the same time there's just stronger character vs. her placement here i.e. the Ken and JP bros don't NEED to force themselves to use Juri even if her placement is extremely high she has a bag of tricks that could compliment being a pocket character/secondary. Besides there's an attractive decently tiered character in the form of Cammy for all the horny GOOD players Blanka sort of fits that mold of character who is insanely powerful but doesn't fit the aesthetics of most players + the history of him being low tier. Its why he flew under the radar for so long
Nothing from Ed screams A tier, especially when his moves and gameplan are very risky to get jump and DI. Heck, the startup for his OD Psycho Upper is 13 frame, the slowest invicble reversal in the game that can be bait by normal medium. Now you compare with A or S tier characters like Luke, Ken, Guile, Dee Jay, Chun Li, Cammy, Rashid, Blanka, and Juri and all of them has 6 frame OD DP. Even Ryu OD DP also 6f which is faster than Ed OD Upper.
wow this list shows me that i always pick suck characters, and i should not keep hoping for my favorite characters to be in the game cause they will end up in the trash tier. perhaps i will never get back into luke fighter 6.
@@cosmic5665 He might be stunnable very fast plus the low HP, yes. You might be able to jump over or punish his demon, which as critical art cannot be kara cancelled. His teleport doesn't have invincibility anymore. His double kicks are punishable by ducking under the first.
I disagree. Blanka is NOT "S tier". He more like A. He suffers against who has good normals. Especially Ken or Ryu. Thats why i don't believe in tier list.
I think Guile should be lower, and here's why: Nobody plays against him correctly. His biggest weaknesses are DI and jump-ins. You can easily DI when he booms at closer ranges, and Guile's only good pokes all lose to DI. People also really need to jump on him more. Think about it: He keeps booming you; it's in your favor to randomly jump in. If Guile guesses right, doesn't boom, and AAs you, you're only eating around 900-1200 most times, depending on the AA and timing. Keep doing it. If you guess right and your jump-in beats his boom, you get to do whatever you want and deal 3000-4000+ dmg. It's far more risky for Guile to boom in close-mid ranges, and pretty pointless in longer ranges. This has also been said a lot, but just parry his booms and they do pretty much nothing. I seriously don't get the Guile up-play. You don't see him placing high much in tournaments and no one plays him online. I'd accept lowest of A tier, or high B tier.
Good guile players are always ready with a flash kick or anti air, booms are fast projectiles which he can dr after and combo. He can also just not throw booms consistently. I feel like your describing lower level guile players. He's always a tricky fight in every game. This one is no different.
@@hmd3008 You can only be ready with FK if you have enough charge time (which most times you won't if a good opponent jumps at the correct time and distance). More so than not, charging FK leaves him a sitting duck and vulnerable (which is why I personally prefer his c.HP as an AA). He can DR after boom, but that's really only useful in closer (getting jumped-in on) ranges (which a lot of other character's can just do anyway without a projectile). Good players will parry his booms, and take chances with their jump-ins and DIs (at the right distances) for much more favorable trades. Most Guiles have the same plan because he's very one dimensional with slight variations (which is fine), but he has a lot of downsides.
I'll consider this comment only if you are Legend rank or close to Else, it s either you dont know what you are talking about, or you didnt play Good Guile BTW, if Guile can FK he can also Super

Easy combos. Good projectile zoning. Can play back up and turtle game if need be. Easy anti airs Exceptional "drive rush just to throw" game. Easy use in Modern. Exceptional spammability. Terrific damage. Botting/scripting potential galore. This tier is cheat city. 🤣 A - Gief, Cammy, Juri, Honda, Marisa, Manon For Cammy, Juri, and Gief. Fast poke-y normals. Don't really gotta learn crazy combos, but you have them. Some great high damage options. Projectiles are decent for those that have them, exceptional DPs. Good Modern use. Spammable moves. Can get blown up if wrong guesses are made. 🤣 B - Jamie, Chun, Guile, JP, Rashid, Blanka, AKI Not so many crazy spammable moves, and you kinda gotta work/ or learn combos for wins...but there's still plenty bullshit to go around. Some busted normals, specials, and movement options(JP, Chun, Blanka, Guile). Aside from maybe Guile, Blanka, and JP...scripting/botting options are starting to not be so great here as well. 🤣 C- Lily, Sim, Lil' Kim Not much you're cheesing and cheating with here, but there's some ass pull potential. Kim is decent for her movement speed, but she's playing SF 6 season 3 when the damage gets nerfed across the board, but everyone else is still in Season 1 and 2. Plus there's not many cheese set ups she can run besides maybe teleport into HK or run into MK. Sim is hard as shit to use...but the limbs can be a problem and teleport has cheese potential. Lily has the command throws but not much else. 🤣🤣

Ed I feel is the one character in this game that is actually designed around playing neutral. Like Capcom specifically made his zoning a bit of a gamble, his up close pressure pretty lackluster with obvious holes and with as little neutral skipping as possible (basically just ex flicker which is not without it's weaknesses).
They want you to play Ed with a whiff punish heavy gameplan and patience to take your risks with care.
Which of course compared to the top tiers that do have better ways to play with less risks and less neutral it's difficult for him to thrive.
Personally I would improve his jav, light DP and movement speed, like if you want me to whiff punish and play strike throw please let me walk my opponent without that much risk.
Also maybe f HP should have slightly less recovery on whiff, that move is not that rewarding to have such a weakness

If they fix these things we all name ooor the top tier characters around him and Ryu and other mid tiers then we'll have a great second season.
I love his playstyle, it's a strange but fitting idea they made this itteration of the character, like they've done with their new ones (judo/ballet, sprayer/ninja, drunken fighter/breakdancer) but like you mentioned I'd also like him to lean a bit more to his close up boxer side than his psycho power zoner side. He's the only boxer we have so far, it would be appropriate.

One thing a lot of people don't realize about Jamie is that the drinks are a huge part of his mind game. I understand that you're basing your opinion on tournament results but I don't think Jamie deserves being bottom tier. The drinks to me is part of his pressure game because most players will be so busy trying to stop him from drinking, they throw themselves off and get caught by many of Jamies moves and then when he gets them on knockdown then he can get his sip or go for throws or do low roundhouse kick. Its all a part of the fun of playing Jamie and without his drink mechanic, he will lose that guess pressure. I see a lot of players try to wait for me to drink then I go in for Drive Rush lows or overheads. I think Jamie at least deserves Low rank at 0 - 1 drink, Mid on 2-3 drinks and A rank at 4. That command grab is so broken bro. Even saw a Jamie player do an infinite combo on me. So he has that as well and lets not forget he regains drive meter when he has devil within or 4 drinks. Also devil within also refills a lot of drive meter while he is at 4 drinks.

Very nice list. My take is that if a character is A or above, it's normal to see them win tournaments. B-tiers can show up at Top 8s, but rarely win. C-tiers and below rarely show up at the top, and never win. If they win, it becomes headline FGC news, like SnakeEyes at CPT.

Man, the Blanka down play is GOAT tier lol . Du broke down the 2 touch situation (which much feels like O.D. Amnesia pre-patch). St.RH is possibly the best normal button anti-air?! Its got my vote! His level 3 alone? Yeah, nuff said. His kit IS ACTUALLY OD, WITHOUT the tech!!! It truly does feel like CvS2 Blanka, which I will admit, is a large part of my disdain for this character lol. He needs tweaking, thats all. Key word NEEDS though. lol
Season 2 Ryu probably will be more like shoto zoning version of Marisa. Ryu get denjin stock, he doesn't care and he get in, Marisa level damage. And if Ryu wants to take away your drive meter, he would just loop 5hp -> high blade kick, it just take away so much drive meter, comparable to Marisa.

Juri is S tier..idk how ppl have her any lower. Her only problem against zoning is Guile, Luke, and JP, literally the best zoners, lol. I can’t see where this chun overplay comes from. Most her normals are stubby her hk and hp aren’t cancellable. Her dmg isn’t higher than any shoto and only blows you up in corner like every1 else. Aerials so weak it doesn’t reliably connect into hk, bad hitbox for jump ins. That slow fireball she likes to wall behind is slow start up and recovery, punish countered by any anti fireball move or jump in on reaction. Fmp has good range but looses to spacing with heavies and rly good fireballs which is what it needs to compete with bc her heavies are mediocre at best. No target comboes make actually getting dmg off reaction in neutral expensive. Lmk is shorter range than most characters, and those who it is larger than likely don’t space with Lmk.
Ifchun was this crazy she’d be more prevalent in tournies like deejay, Ken, guile, jp, AND NO WHERE NEAR LUUUUUKE.

The big problem with Jamie wasn't so much being unable to get all his drinks; it's that he is unable to keep them like Manon's levels.
I think its fair though, Manon has to literally get a command grab in while Jamie can just sit back whole screen away and chug at will plus now having grabs and other moves that allows him to drink. I think they should let him start every round after first with 1 drink. The drink mechanic is part of his trolling pressure game that throws people off. I wouldn't want him starting every round at 4 drinks.
That’s not the problem. The problem is even at level 4 drinks… Jamie doesn’t reach those levels of the top or even high tiers. He does all this work to still lose. Keeping the drinks would be unbalanced yeah, but at the same time he doesn’t reach god tier character when it takes him a while to get all drinks
Manon getting in and earn a successful command grab is a lot harder than Jamie getting a drink. So it's fair that Manon keep her medal for next round while Jamie didn't keep his drink level, considering Manon shortcomings such as doesn't have wake up reversal (Jamie has), kinda stubby normals (Jamie has great normals), short DR, don't have reliable move to get through projectile (Jamie has breakdance), and more. Jamie can get easy drink just from normal throw or do crouch MK > target combo. Heck, Jamie Super lvl 2 gave him temporary lvl 4 drink.

Pretty solid tier list honestly, I don't know why people are going so rabid in the comments. Only thing I'd change is putting Guile in S tier. He's the only character that can consistently negate the games most offensive mechanic (Drive Rush) I think that's definitely worth putting him in S.
I agree with your comments on Dhalsim. He is just a horrible tournament type of character because of poor matchups against certain characters (just like Zangief). Characters that are well rounded tend to do well in the big tournaments.
This game relies so much on pressuring your opponent in the corner, so when Jamie is drinking he is NOT pressuring and taking advantage in the corner situation. This is why Jamie's match tends to be longer because he needs to do multiple drink setups.

I haven’t played in a couple of weeks but I’m mentally preparing myself to learn AKI is S2. I love Kimberly, but in diamond the reward just isn’t there for the amount of effort I put into winning the neutral. I feel like I have to win way more situations than my opponent all the time.

I still can't imagine why a few keep placing Dee Jay on top of Ken. There are only two probable reasons: they have never played Dee Jay and seen his clear flaws, or they don't know how to fight him. When you play Ken, you can do anything. You have defense against anything, and you have several moves that solve two or more situations with a single option. Yes, unlike Luke, he requires some degree of execution, but tiers are built around what characters can do when played perfectly.
Dee Jay, on the other hand, doesn't have a level one that can save him in burnout, his level 2 has a slow startup, so can be bated with a ligt punch, has no low medium into DR (actually, not only that, but his low forward is really slow and short compared to Ken's, for example), has no overhead to pressure from DR, has few cancellable normals that are not susceptible to DI, has a charge DP and some angles at which opponents will jump at you comfortably and force you to a throw-hit mixup (because you don't have a broken normal as Luke's crouching HP), and his last nerf made his scrubbiest move (sway-low) way too risky to spam. If you put all of these weaknesses together, train hard enough to punish his DR (it's really not so hard, especially if you're playing Ken, Luke, JP, Marisa, or Manon), and keep spacing right, he simply has no way of opening you. I challenge anyone to come up with a comprehensive list of flaws for Ken. You won't make it half as long as the one I've made.
They should make Jaime keep half the drinks for second round, so if you got 2 drinks you start with 1 and so on. In the case you got three make him start round two with two drinks.
Gameplay would remain similar cause even starting at two drinks you would want to get the rest. How things are now you get to 4 drinks when you have already destroyed your opponent
Blanka deserves to be top tier. Just like Baraka got a glow-up in MK1(story-wise), Blanka needed his flowers now.

I agree with Kimberly tier placement but Dhalsim, Lily and Gief all won CPT events, tournament results is an indicator of strength and meta, and while we may feel Kimberly is better than gief/sim/lily results say otherwise. I put her at the bottom of C or at the top of D.

Sounds like season 3 Dhalsim lol. It depends how much more air mobility they want to give him. His float is pretty unique.
Ken was not as good as Luke and he now is definitely not as good as Luke, but along with Cammy and Guile I think there is a larger S-tier. Cammy's weakness seems to be a few other top tiers wielded by the best players in the world. And a Guile with great reactions like NuckleDu or Lexx can shut so many characters down that I think he is S-tier.
I also love the AKI placement. She takes work, but is very solid when you know how to play her (which I don't).

Look I get that when comes to tier list the characters on the top is consider to be the strongest but why do yall tend to put 1 character that's either strong or weak it's own tier list? Just leave it how it is and just put Luke in S, like we get it that his buttons are great and he does a absurd amount of damage but the other characters before him do almost the same thing but in a different way and has other elements to them.
Putting Luke in his own tier just says he's the most broken character ever when he isnt really cause he's not winning many tournaments and other characters are capable of beating him that are played by players that have the almost skill set as the other player. Most of he would be banned of how broken his kit is like he's the final boss like Akuma in SFII turbo.
I'm sorry that this comes off as a tangent and I'm not trying to downplay Luke in a way but this just urks me in way whenever someone does a tier list like this and leaves 1 character a tier list on there own. If a character is in top tier it doesn't specifically means that their unbeatable and if they are bottom tier that doesn't mean they can't win any matchups.

Here's the thing my friend, when you're so used to playing strong characters like Luke and Juri, sometimes you can forget what its like to really have to struggle or "find ways" to adapt to certain uphill battles. As you know, Luke does not "struggle" against anyone. He may not have a super high easy win rate over a certain character, but, he has so many tools and is so strong that even if he has to work a little bit harder, the confidence you have and are able to still compete with no worries can muddle your thoughts on the reality of the current situation. Juri as well, but not as strong as Luke.
Now compare this to me and a few others who main Manon since the game released. It has been an absolute uphill struggle going against the majority of the cast and constantly having to outplay people over and over and over. No plus on block normals, no projectile, worst drive rush in the game (arguably), no OD reversal, on and on and on and on bro. Im not doubting your personal skill, but I am saying you have no idea what its like to play a low tier character for the majority or all of the first year and have to struggle in every match and almost every situation favors the other characters.
@@johnnieboy66 I appreciated on what you saying and look I get what you mean but I pick up Luke for a change of diversity for I often always play Ken or even Ryu for that matter. And while yes I do %100 agree he does not struggle as much cause he has every tool imaginable but those tools don't often win every match espically against some certain characters that are actually brain dead and makes it easy for players to abuse with say E. Honda, I know he's not really great in this game but he still annoying to fight whenever (some)players spams his buttslam & headbutt.
What's more is that aside from Luke & Juri I started to learn Lily cause she is also simple to use but not that very great. Her CR.MK is horrible to use and I'm glad Capcom is addressing that from the leak patch notes that I learn & she has hardly any tools aside from Condor Spire to get past fireballs which is gonna be more problematic for her when Akuma drops. Speaking of which Akuma is probably gonna be on the same boat as Luke with how not much of struggle to as for he is a fan favorite, yeah he has low health but that never has stop him before and neither will it be in SF6. And trust me when I say as someone that feels ya when your having to deal with other characters like Luke that has every tool situated for every match, you're gonna have a field day/year when Akuma drops cause he's looking to over throw Luke for S tier spot and I'll be surprise he starts winning every tournament in the forceable future.

I think its hard to talk about Juri because of a combination of the character's placement and overall user base. Most people who play her aren't Aiai, they're sweaty sub fetishizers. She doesn't have the kind of flavor aesthetically people who like the game are concerned about but at the same time there's just stronger character vs. her placement here i.e. the Ken and JP bros don't NEED to force themselves to use Juri even if her placement is extremely high she has a bag of tricks that could compliment being a pocket character/secondary. Besides there's an attractive decently tiered character in the form of Cammy for all the horny GOOD players
Blanka sort of fits that mold of character who is insanely powerful but doesn't fit the aesthetics of most players + the history of him being low tier. Its why he flew under the radar for so long

Nothing from Ed screams A tier, especially when his moves and gameplan are very risky to get jump and DI. Heck, the startup for his OD Psycho Upper is 13 frame, the slowest invicble reversal in the game that can be bait by normal medium. Now you compare with A or S tier characters like Luke, Ken, Guile, Dee Jay, Chun Li, Cammy, Rashid, Blanka, and Juri and all of them has 6 frame OD DP. Even Ryu OD DP also 6f which is faster than Ed OD Upper.

@@cosmic5665 He might be stunnable very fast plus the low HP, yes. You might be able to jump over or punish his demon, which as critical art cannot be kara cancelled. His teleport doesn't have invincibility anymore. His double kicks are punishable by ducking under the first.

I disagree. Blanka is NOT "S tier". He more like A. He suffers against who has good normals. Especially Ken or Ryu.
Thats why i don't believe in tier list.
Blanka's level 2 is overpowering. Lasted too long.

Cammy is the most consistantly overrated character in the game
I think Guile should be lower, and here's why: Nobody plays against him correctly. His biggest weaknesses are DI and jump-ins. You can easily DI when he booms at closer ranges, and Guile's only good pokes all lose to DI. People also really need to jump on him more. Think about it: He keeps booming you; it's in your favor to randomly jump in. If Guile guesses right, doesn't boom, and AAs you, you're only eating around 900-1200 most times, depending on the AA and timing. Keep doing it. If you guess right and your jump-in beats his boom, you get to do whatever you want and deal 3000-4000+ dmg. It's far more risky for Guile to boom in close-mid ranges, and pretty pointless in longer ranges. This has also been said a lot, but just parry his booms and they do pretty much nothing. I seriously don't get the Guile up-play. You don't see him placing high much in tournaments and no one plays him online. I'd accept lowest of A tier, or high B tier.
Good guile players are always ready with a flash kick or anti air, booms are fast projectiles which he can dr after and combo. He can also just not throw booms consistently. I feel like your describing lower level guile players. He's always a tricky fight in every game. This one is no different.
@@hmd3008 You can only be ready with FK if you have enough charge time (which most times you won't if a good opponent jumps at the correct time and distance). More so than not, charging FK leaves him a sitting duck and vulnerable (which is why I personally prefer his c.HP as an AA). He can DR after boom, but that's really only useful in closer (getting jumped-in on) ranges (which a lot of other character's can just do anyway without a projectile). Good players will parry his booms, and take chances with their jump-ins and DIs (at the right distances) for much more favorable trades. Most Guiles have the same plan because he's very one dimensional with slight variations (which is fine), but he has a lot of downsides.

Blanka A tier he s strong but beside crouch mp is button game is pretty weak. The slide is a huge risk you cant spam it so fireball char. Is a problem. But yeah mix up and damage put him like high A cammy guile is better

High damage for no thought whatsoever. Easy combos. Good projectile zoning. Can play back up and turtle game if need be. Easy anti airs Exceptional "drive rush just to throw" game. Easy use in Modern. Exceptional spammability. Terrific damage. Botting/scripting potential galore. This tier is cheat city. 🤣
A - Gief, Cammy, Juri, Honda, Marisa, Manon
For Cammy, Juri, and Gief. Fast poke-y normals. Don't really gotta learn crazy combos, but you have them. Some great high damage options. Projectiles are decent for those that have them, exceptional DPs. Good Modern use. Spammable moves. Can get blown up if wrong guesses are made. 🤣
B - Jamie, Chun, Guile, JP, Rashid, Blanka, AKI
Not so many crazy spammable moves, and you kinda gotta work/ or learn combos for wins...but there's still plenty bullshit to go around. Some busted normals, specials, and movement options(JP, Chun, Blanka, Guile). Aside from maybe Guile, Blanka, and JP...scripting/botting options are starting to not be so great here as well. 🤣
C- Lily, Sim, Lil' Kim
Not much you're cheesing and cheating with here, but there's some ass pull potential. Kim is decent for her movement speed, but she's playing SF 6 season 3 when the damage gets nerfed across the board, but everyone else is still in Season 1 and 2. Plus there's not many cheese set ups she can run besides maybe teleport into HK or run into MK. Sim is hard as shit to use...but the limbs can be a problem and teleport has cheese potential. Lily has the command throws but not much else. 🤣🤣
