If anyone could answer this i would be very grateful. Under international rules when still deciding colors if there is a touching ball, if you want to play the color that the cue ball is touching (say yellow ) do you still have to hit another yellow and then fulfill the requirements of a legal shot or u can just play away and hit a cushion and it will be loss of turn. The rule is clear when the colors are already decided but when still deciding colors it is a little bit confusing . Thanks in advance for all the answers !
Interesting question, possibly a grey area. I'd say since you haven't chosen a set of colors you need to play a legal shot to select a set than you're eligible to play away from your ball. Just guessing

It's pretty funny having a 'Masters' category in a sport where people don't really get much worse with age. Considering the best player in the world is in it. It's like the word 'master' is actually being used literally for a change.

@@carlogambino1979 A sport is defined as an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.
There is ZERO physical exertion in cue sports. It is what it is.
What does age have to do with it? The masters isn't for any particular age of player.
@@nakkadu Ok my bad I guess. In other sports where there is multiple categories at an event and one is 'Masters' it usually refers to players near or past retirement age. Master is often a polite way of saying 'old' but if that's not the case for this one I misunderstood. I assumed the Men's Singles event was the most prestigeous category there, otherwise why have 2 almost identical categories?
