    I love watching these 2 amazing players. But just like most matches with fairly equally skilled players, the luck of the break ruins any ability to see who was clearly the better player. I've said it time and again, if they made it so that the person who breaks always gets another shot after the break regardless of whether they make a ball or not, you would see 90% of the luck of the break removed, and pool would become a much better and more interesting game. You wouldn't see 30 different guys winning tournaments then, the top of the rankings would solidify themselves with more consistent results for the best players. We need to cure this addiction to break ego. I will continue to advocate for this rule change for the rest of my life.

      @@AD-kv9kj Although 9-ball has a much less random break than 8-ball. They can slow break the 1 ball into the side most of the time. Or even consistently pot into the corner. With the magic racks, it's so consistent that it's considered a mistake not to pot the exact ball you're intending to. The same cannot be said for 8-ball at all. Strangely Matchroom were trying to change it lately to make it _more_ random, which I thought was very strange. Unless they're just doing it because the layouts were starting to look similar from the controlled breaks. I.e. not only consistent break, but consistently easy layouts as well.

    I'm a very poor snooker player but I would bet I could give any pool player a solid game. As the commentators said it's classed as a mickey mouse game. The reason why it's the easier game is they ball hits cushion but still goes in the pocket so accuracy is not the be all and end all. But in snooker if you hit the cushion first very rarely does the ball pot, plus playing on a 12ft. by 6 ft table accuracy is key and safety play is a large part of the game. Not so much in pool. I'd love to see Mick Hill try a professional snooker tournament. I couldn't see him winning even a single frame, but it would be good for a laugh. Actually, leave the pool table and pool rules and just swap the cue ball for one the same size as the other balls and Mick Hill wouldn't even be competitive.

      The difference between pool and snooker is in the type of positional shots most frequently played and the size of table/balls. Plain and simple. Similar games, but very different too. And both require a lot of practice to become really good at, which is why nobody dominates all the disciplines. Let any of these two players have a go at playing a 3-cushion match and they would come out looking like complete amateurs, as would a 3-cushion player if he went up against the best pool/snooker players

    • @waveyjones3347
      @waveyjones3347 Před 6 měsíci

      This is true for the middle pockets but generally speaking it’s a lot easier to transition from snooker to American or visa versa because the cutting angles are the same and the throw is similar. English 8 ball the cue ball is 1/8 of an inch smaller than all the object balls, so transitioning takes more time. Plus the balls are a lot lighter and smaller on English
