Reminds me when I saw my best friend crashing in Glamis, broke his back and was knocked out cold for 45 minuets, he's all good now, hope that guy heals up quick 🙏

I fractured my back at the dunes also knocked out but I was riding alone and had to ride back myself, don’t ride alone

Man you kids heal quickly. I thought I was unbreakable when racing as a teenager. Now at 38, I feel all those broken bones and it takes months to recover from accidents like this. Still limping from a wreck in January. Ride or Die.

This is how all of my night mares end when I am riding bikes
I once jumped completely over a chain link fence at Carlsbad long ago. Was on a downhill jump and the track was watered and slippery and I went like 30 degrees right off the jump face and cleared a fence and landed in hip high weeds lol. Took a while to find a hole in the fence and get back on the track.
It was a Chad-a-pult! Except with the super nice downhill slide landing.

Fuck man this brings me back. Raced from age 4-16. People don’t understand some of these wrecks are like getting into full blown car accidents . It takes a fucking mad toll on the body .

Dude i dont know why this was on my home page but i had something pretty similar happen to me at Cahuilla 3 1/2 months ago and is giving me crazy flash backs. I over cleared a 40 foot double by about 30 extra feet and landed flat. Suspension fully compressed and ended up with a hawkins level 3 talar neck fracture. It messed me up so bad. Internal bleeding, emergency surgery, and now i have a 90% chance of losing my talus all together due to avascular necrosis. My surgeon told me i pulled the shortest stick in the stack, and i'll be lucky if i ever walk pain free again. Sucks to hear that at 28 years old, but i'll persevere. Glad homie is doing better now.

Question... Do I bail out, or, do I ride it until impact? I saw a similar crash to this at a world championship race in England. The rider Paul Cooper, hit the jump wrong, drifted and looked like he would bail out. However, he managed to catch the back brake in mid air, and land the bike sideways on a post and rail fence where I had been standing a couple of minutes before. The fence broke from the impact and first aid rushed to the scene. After a couple of minutes, he got up, jumped on his bike and the very next lap was flat out over the same jump... Incredible...

When I was 14 I was racing at LTMX and cased a tripple and went head first into the landing and broke my neck in 2 places in c4 and c6 and was knocked out cold for about 30 minutes is what I’ve been told, I was in a wheel chair for about 6 weeks and in physical therapy for about a year and half
