    Thanks so much for this!
    I agree completely. Gold & Silver are real money because they're among the most stable elements in existence. Let's stop treating them like precious soufflés and start treating them like what they are, metals.

    It's all about resale in the future. When doing private sales on forums, ebay or facebook you will get at a lot more money for a pristine untouched carded bar than what you would a scratched up out of the pack toned bar. I'd rather an easy resale and the extra money in the future.

    Great Vid ... I've cracked open several slabs as well ... it's nice to get up close and personal with my coins ... plus it's part of the whole experience of educating myself about precious metals, e.g. doing ping tests, weighing coins, doing specific gravity/density tests, test reaction to Neodymium Magnets etc ... but most of all , just enjoying the beauty of the coins ... At the end of the day, Its still Worth 'Spot' ...

    Definitely a valid point here. If you’re selling to a dealer or a precious metals only buyer they’re likely only going to offer you spot price. In that case the packaging doesn’t matter. However, if you sell to someone else “online like eBay” packaging will definitely make a difference as it’s deemed more “genuine” rather than a bar or coin without packaging. That being said it really depends on the demand for the metal. If everything starts flying off the shelves I don’t think it’s really going to matter if you have that bar in an assay card or not. You may get slightly less but it won’t be much.

    He's right of course, but when I handle my nice numismatic metals I wear gloves much of the time. That said I don't know if they were handled before I got them. Certainly old coins were used everyday and the pristine ones for all we know were in someone's old junk drawer 200 years ago and forgotten about so they're in great condition. It's totally up to whoever is in charge. If investing in old coins imo one might want to wear gloves with silver. Gold is indestructible so they say. Bullion is fun. I say touch it ! lol

  • @negochristian1
    @negochristian1 Před 2 lety

    I disagree. Most bullion dealers don't offer the same amount if the packaging is damaged. The bullion dealer doesn't sell products without a packaging at the same price - but with a discount. Conclusion? In the vast majority of cases - damaged packaging negatively impacts the value.

    • @BullionNow
      @BullionNow  Před 2 lety +5

      A reputable bullion dealer shouldn't be selling a product they bought back from a customer as brand new. So even if it's in packaging and the packaging is undamaged... there should be a discount on it anyway. We pay the same price to the seller, no matter if a bar is in or outside of it's original packaging. Just our opinion of course!

America is wayyy different apparently in our silver markets...im not a glove nazi but why trash your stuff. So when that silver tones brown that high premium ox will sell for damaged prices...

    Simply said; if you want to be in the top dealers list; simply show professionalize "all the times" and wear cotton gloves. If you want just to be a regular dealer then you can do whatever you want.
    I'm to Joe's side; it looks to me from all the videos that he understands the collectors mentality.
    Silver 101: Wear cotton gloves all the times. Even The Numismatist magazine recommends doing so for paper money, check paper money preservation article (page 26) in their latest edition.

    whats the use in having gold and silver and you cant touch it or you touch and see it throw plastic what sort of a relationship are you having with the metal...jewlery is meant to be worn ,,,,how can i understand it if I don't hold it ..I myself feel rejected if I cant hold my own gold or silver ....like its separate from me .people held it for thousands of years in their hands ....for me and that's just me Im for the metal ...I don't care about the art work it matters but its got to be really stamped hard on the metal so a scratch cant whipe it ............and I dont care about mintage number's ...theres a market for that and its good that there is ...but im not interested in it .good luck with people who have fun with that side of it .....it takes a certain type of coin geek to go full on into that aspect of the market ..its not for me my mental energy is some were ells but good luck to the people that are really into that side of it .I want the metal in case the economy crashes ..no one knows the future but no one knows the future ..........a 5 thousand year hedge is not a bad start ..I want the metal to keep the value over inflation ....as part of my portfolio...I want the metal to hold in the hand for a sens of security as im reading bad economic news in the horizon ..having something in the hand that's held its value from the times of the Pyramids
