@@Techkhamun just to share, I work as Product Head for a Singaporean company and I work with designs and videos all day long. Fortunately its Mac-centric place but I could use the extra horsepower for these illustration and coding platforms. TBH my personal and work M1 Pro works however the chips really piques my interest. Apple is serious in this segment.
Ahh okay! Well I will be getting the base model 14 inch as well as my specced out 16inch so it’ll be a good comparison to see how much extra performance do you actually get for your money!

I got both the 16inch with the M1 Mac and the base model 14inch, I’m super curious about the base model 14inch because Patrick Tomasso who is a full time video and photo editor is picking up the base model 14 inch for this work and doesn’t think he needs more than that! But I’m going to put the two against in each just to see what the “worst” and “best” is like against each other and is there actually a meaningful time different in export times for example. Thing is I have a four 4K cam multicam setup so it’s gotta handle that haha

Looking for 3D rendering comparison of Cycles against a windows laptop. Everyone who uses Blender will likely be intrigued by this.
Which windows laptop? What spec of MacBook and what spec of windows laptop? Need to be more specific
Just want to clarify that a desktop 3080 is not the same as a laptop 3080. The desktop draws about 340 W, while the laptop one that apple compared to draws about 150 W. Just so you don't have unrealistic expectations :)

@@Techkhamun Awesome, that sounds good! Nonetheless, I’m super excited about these new chips. They really are something else! That memory bandwidth and the amount of unified memory is insane. Imagine the GPU having access to 64GB of memory… at 400GB/s… in a laptop. Pure insanity.
1. I hate the idea of a notch. I seriously absolutely hate it.
2. Where are the different colors? Meh.
3. I don't think there is much comparison between the laptop versions of the RTX 3080 and the desktop RTX 3080. The desktop version is much more powerful. Comparing the desktop 3080 to the new Macbook Pros will be informative, but also very unfair for the MBPs.
4. Even the laptop versions of the 3080, it depends on what version. Unfortunately there are more than one 3080 depending on the watts.
5. I like the return of more ports, finally!
6. I am poor so the chance of me buying either the M1 Pro or the M1 Max is zero, but I have to say I like how they look in terms of improvements. I think Apple is on the right track.
7. I would love to see how they perform (compared to the first M1 too) running proper Windows 11 (through virtualization of course) and how they are handling demanding applications including games, like that.

10. For me the best thing about them is the lower power consumption for the good performance. Not because I care about the environment, but because it's the best thing for technology.
