- Ira - Hey guys I want to tell you about a recent opportunity I had to paddle a special river near & dear to me, the East Fork of the Tuckasegee aka Panthertown! This river has been on my radar for well over a year now. It was finally running but none of the Portage Posse crew was available so I had to get outside my comfort zone & meet some new paddlers. This is my favorite river to date that I have been able to paddle. Big slides, pristine wilderness & impressive scenery make this western Carolina river a hidden mountain gem.
