  • I resisted buying a lawn sweeper for years but finally gave in. With 1.75 acres to mow and rake it just got to be too much.
    After using a neighbor's John Deere sweeper several times I started researching different brands and models. My choice was the Brinly STS 427LHX Lawn Sweeper for several reasons.
    This video shows the assembly process and I give some notes on why I chose this brand.

    i bought a Parker sweeper back in 07. it has done wonderful for me. but i mow with a jd 2520 62d deck-and i can only throw 2 rows together-or it will slide across the ground. so what i do is let it lay a day and dry out like hay. i think back to helping my one pap put in loose hay when i was a kid. love my sweeper just for the thoughts of that.

      I compost the clippings so some I let dry for brown matter and some is added green. It sure does take up less space when dry. Thanks for the comment! We also have the 2520 Deere. How do you like yours?

      good-i bought mine in 06-first yr they came out. have 1100 hrs on it now. other than the front axle upgrade i did a few yrs ago-and added the better 3pt arms so they didn't rub my tires fine. had a diode go bad once. but it has done all i've asked of it. lots of loader work i put it thru. i compost mostly all mine for several yrs-it made my garden dirt very nice. but i love to put my green grass on or between the rows-keeps everything nice and moist.

    Well that is going to save the back a lot. Also collection mulch or compost at the same time

      +Macca Stacka yes. I'm hoping this will get the compost pile cooking again. And my back will appreciate it too!

    Good video, All Companies that make stuff like this should really include a usb stick or a CZcams link with a video on how to put it together instead of a booklet, it would really speed up things for the owners.

    How has this held up for you? Any concerns a few years in?

    • @CleanSlateFarm
      @CleanSlateFarm  Před 4 lety

      It's really held up well. As you saw we use it on a larger tractor than we probably should so some adjustments had to be made on the mount for the hitch. Not an issue though. The biggest issue is emptying the basket. Let me explain...if you sweep fresh grass you're picking up a lot of moisture. It's best to let the grass dry. Then the basket holds more and it's not as heavy to try to dump. Wet, fresh grass is heavy! And if you have a basket that is almost full of fresh grass the sweeper will "skip" and leave clumps of grass behind. So empty often or sweep dry grass. Other than that the unit is working great. Would I buy again? Yes. Good unit. If you decide to buy it on Amazon please use this link. I'll get a small commission. If you don't that's okay as well. I'd still recommend it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated.

      Jacob Carrazco it’s to pull the bag up to dump the grass clippings. Thx for watching! Please subscribe

    Dear Brinly, see how many views this video has? Get the hint! I used to assemble for Home D.... , how hard can it be? Well, I'm on day 2 soon to be 3.

      Thanks, Ed. It helped that I read the instructions several times and laid out all the parts. It really is amazing how terrible most instruction manuals are. I won't even get into the instructions for the Harbor Freight work bench. What a disaster that was.

    never let the bag drag. it wears out the bag quickly and a new bag costs about as much as a whole new sweeper.

      oops, sorry! you sell bags on Amazon also, don't you, lol !

      LOL. That was good. I left the bag in the higher position to avoid wear. Good comment...even if I don't earn any money from Amazon :)
