Gold Tissot PRX: 35mm vs 40mm

- The Tissot PRX has been a revelation since it’s release in 2021 but whilst the stainless steel versions are rightly revered, the 35mm and 40mm gold PRXs are sometimes overlooked but also offer great value for money. If you want the gold watch vibe (think Rolex Day/Date, Vacheron Constantin 222 or Piaget Polo) without the gold watch price tag, it is amazing affordable option.

Your content, style and tone is so refreshing. I’m suprised you don’t have a much bigger following. I’m hoping one of the big watch bloggers will discover you and give you the boost you deserve 🎉
Thank you! I hope so too!
Great review! Fourth time watching!
Haha awesome! I think you might love this watch even more than me!
I had the prx 80 bleu and ended up flipping it. I am with you a 37mm would be perfect. The crazy thing is I just ordered the mint green I also ordered the leather strap to see how it hugs the wrist. I hope to keep this one for a while unless they drop a midsized version. The 35mm looks great on you. I am closer to 7¼ and found it a little to diminutive. All the best and enjoy with good health!
Thank you! Enjoy your new PRX!
38mm!
Nice review and very helpful looking at 35mm v 40mm. I ordered the new automatic 35mm gold version with the waffle dial in gold pvd. I have no problem with a 35mm dial, but unfortunately the bracelet was just to small for my 7.45” wrist and had to return it. May have look at the 40mm as an alternative.
Thanks! That's a real shame. Tissot needs to do a mid-sized version ASAP!
Great video. Great watch with great value for money!
Thank you! I couldn’t agree more!
Great points!
Cheers! Thanks for watching!
Any more affordable ~35mm watch?
mate, 35 is just TOO GOOD. It's suuuuper elegant, while keeping this 'industrial' 'brutalist' aesthetic. It's a pretty minimal watch (yeah, golden version is bit flashier, but still) 3 hands and a date and with a smaller dial it has less negative space. I'm a bit biased since I don't like big watches too much and 40mm prx looks more like a 41-42mm, which is way too big for my liking, but still - original 1977 Seastar was in 35 and since PRX is very very close to the original (to the point it genuinely looks like a proper reissue) the proportions and vibe on a 35 is just right. It just works. Specially the gold version or white with a 'rose gold' hands. It's like a 70-80s in a nutshell. I wish they did a proper two-tone white dial version and with a rumours of 35mm coming they might actually bring it to life.
I was really attracted to PRX when I fist saw one, but the only reason I've skipped on it was the size. I thought that 35 might be 'too small', but 40 is way to big for me. And then I saw the picture of 33mm AP Royal Oak and this flipped my perspective on PRX and watches in general. And I also have a Raymond Weil 5768, which is a really small Cartier Tank homage and yet again - looks amazing. I think I could even go smaller. With those angular shapes or integrated bracelets - smaller is usually more elegant. And if I'm getting the integrated bracelet watch, I really wanna to showcase the bracelet. I want the bracelet to have a lot of wrist presence, specially on a PRX. Great video, as always!
Absolutely spot on! I’m sure a lot of guys could easily pull off smaller watches if they were a bit more open-minded. Thank you for your kind words. Cheers, Louis.
Will the 35mm look slightly larger or smaller than my 36mm Rolex datejust because of the integrated bracelet? Thank you
I think they would look quite similar in size. The integrated is only really an issue if the watch/bracelet is too big and it overhangs the wrist. Cheers, Louis.
Small size=Right size for Vintage style..
Classy, with Sporty
100%!
Just got a 40mm gold prx today (ebay) its my 5th prx , green pm80, blue and mint 40mm and green 35mm,thinking of putting the mint movement into the gold.. I've omega's and tudors but love the prx... Great content.
Wow! Sounds like a great project and cheers I appreciate it!
Haha I was thinking about getting 3 or 4 different colors. Doesn’t really seem like a waste they look totally different
Good video. Well done. 👍
Thanks!
My wrist is exactly 6" and I am 5'6". Which size should I get in both the PRX and the Everytime? I want to get both of those watches but am not sure what size to get. I want the gold since it goes with my warm skin tone. Gold tends to be overly blingy so keeping it minimal is key. But minimal can be too dainty or feminine too though so there is a fine line to walk when sizing the jewelry item. That includes watches.
I think the 40mm PRX would be too large for you. As for the Everytime I would go for 34mm personally but I guess it’s down to your preference 34mm is pretty small.
@@thewholecutI like the look of both of those watches. I want comfort. I want to be able to wear it often if it is comfortable. The 40mm dial would look about right on my small writst. But the lug to lug distance might make either watch too big for me. That is why I am having a hard time making a decision on sizing.
35 mm easily
Love this watch, have 5 PRXs including one gold pvd and a chrono version...
Wow! You can never have too much of a good thing! Thanks for watching!
@@thewholecut agree! BTW, I have exactly the same 3 versions - colors of the opening photo. My only quartz is the gold pvd one, they are all 40 mm (well, the chrono is 42mm).
@blackhawk5950 That’s awesome man. I like having lots of options myself and if you really love one particular watch then why not have a few? Enjoy!
Hello a have one question what do thinks prx gold 40 mm is better than seiko srpe 74k1 ?
I would say yes. I haven’t tried that particular Seiko but I did own the SNK366K and the PRX is much better.
Thanks bro
Great review, thanks. 35mm is good.
Thanks for watching!
35mm is like a bracelet that tells the time, it’s perfect for my 7.25 inch wrist
I’m glad you like it too! Cheers, Louis.
This is a gorgeous watch, IMO.
You’re right!
I am convinced, 35mm would be perfect for my wrist. Visually close to the one(Piaget 36mm) worn by Sylvester Stallone, in Tulsa King 😁
I’m sure it would! And oh yes what a beautiful watch if only I could afford one!
I wish the 35mm came with the vertically brushed finish on the dial like the 40mm.
Do you prefer the vertically brushed or sun burst dial?
I definitely prefer the sunburst but maybe I’m just biased as the 35mm is the one I actually own!
I'm the opposite I wish the 40mm came with the sunburst dial 🤣
At 40 mm a Prx gold tone watch with a sunburst dial would be a little over the top. I prefer the 40mm with the brushed dial and the 35 mm with the sunburst dial.
As gold colour is so eye-catching, it must wear small. A big gold colour watch especially gold Sub is difficult to carry well by most people.
100% agree. Thanks for watching!
I’ve owned both and prefer a 40mm on my 8 inch wrist
What is the lug width of prx 35?
The width of the bracelet is 24mm tapering to 16mm but it attaches via the centre link (which is about 11mm) so you’ll need a strap that’s designed specifically for the 35mm PRX. You can’t just use any strap unfortunately :(
How does this gold model age? Has anyone owned one for a while?
I’ve owned mine for more than 18 months now and there’s no sign of wear at all just some light scratches as you might expect. It definitely feels a cut above cheaper gold plated watches I have owned but I guess time will tell.
35mm!
Wrist size, please?
6 inches / 15.2cm 👍
Rose gold would be amazing
Yeah I really hope it happens!
Might be interested if it hit the seconds but it's just hit and miss
Yeah lots of brands can't get this right for some reason.
I HAVE THE 35
A great choice! Enjoy!
if i go gold it has to be real gold, went w black dial powermatic 80
got a 7.5 in wrist so its fits me pefectly at 40
I respect that I would do the same if I had the money. Enjoy your PRX!
What is the best gold watch under 500 $
I don’t think you can go wrong with the PRX. It feels a lot more expensive than it actually is 👍
@@thewholecut thanks
And pagani watch is normal watch ? And dont have any exsperience
Pagani Design is not bad for the money but most designs are copies of famous watches like Rolexes. The best thing to do is to watch videos, read reviews and learn as much as you can before you buy a watch. That way there’s less chance you’ll buy one you will regret buying later 👍
@@thewholecut thAnk you
Watched again! I gotta get a life!
Oh boy!
All PRXs but the colorsplash limited look like Chinese fake watches
I totally disagree but thanks for stopping by 👍
i want one... but a Automatic Version with the Black Waffle Dial 🥲
Get one! You won’t regret it I’m sure!
