i wish people would get that the lyrics aren’t lost because of the harsher music, but the harshness is a reflection of the emotion and meaning behind the lyrics. obviously the sound isn’t for everyone, i get that, but it’s a lot more powerful than whatever basic pop song they were imagining, especially with the obvious depth of the lyrics.

i love how this is from 2017 but most comments are from this month
I liked that they enjoyed reading and understanding the lyrics but I think that Gerard's interpretation of his lyrics and how they should be composed into the songs with the fast pace is perfect. I mean, yeah, I didn't expect them to just love the music immediately but it's the kind of thing where they've definitely not gotten a chance to be well acquainted with the band; a prime example being 8:20. My Chem is a music for the generations and it's stuff that's intense and wild because that's it's intent and purpose. The goal isn't for it to be something you just lay around and think about it's supposed to get you thinking, moving, breaking through. The head banging and the loud instruments are on purpose and by choice. they have more melodic songs that are slower and more lyric based but thats the sense of their earlier works.

I don't think a few of them realized that rock was made to be controversial. The whole point is that it's different from any other genre, when you take that away it might as well be any other song from any other genre.
Listen to the elders said the lyrics the way they were, it makes me realize even more how poetic MCR's lyrics was.

I love how the oldies are saying maybe if the lyrics were presented differently they'd do well.. Meanwhile, fast forward to the bands reunion: sold out shows around the world with hundreds of thousands of people trying to get their hand on them having waited what felt like an eternity for the reunion.
Notice how they think the lyrics are beautiful and have a goof meaning but when they actually listen to the song suddenly it’s “bad” to them.
lyrics and melody are two different things, you can like the flow of a song but hate the lyrics or vice-versa. I personally don't like some MCR songs solely because of the melody and production but still like the lyrics and think they sound beautiful. Sometimes the noise overpowers the lyrics, especially when you can't even understand the lyrics because of the style of the genre.
When they hear the actual music, they aren't judging the lyrics. Their judging the actual instrumentals. There's a difference between the lyrics and the overall music

Listen, I respect the opinions displayed but saying they should change their music to fit what you define as music isnt okay. This music resonated with an entire generation. Elivis was different and controversial and celebrated rebellion for people if this generation and MCR was this way for people of my age. You know? Amazing video loves these.
