His death made me kinda sad tho. It’s kind of like cap in endgame, he faced thanos’s army by himself, standing his ground against impossible odds but ready to fight to the death. This big guy here, realizing he will die, did not cry, did not weep, nor moan, he stood his ground with no help, gave a battle cry before swinging his shovel, and took as many as he could. His strength was incredible, but even the strongest shall perish. Honestly, years later and this scene still gives me chills. 5 comrades against a horde of evil. They saved the best for last. Secret War deserves its own spinoff. The CGI is so realistic like damn! This has taken the number one spot. So much badass in a short amount of time, I wanted to watch more of this episode by itself.

No lie I’m thinking about making it into a game where you have limited ammo and there was no way to refill it once you use all the ammo so your force to use everything you have but carefully I’m also thinking of making the ending just like this cause in games these days the survivors always seem to have infinite ammo and somehow survives.
1:25 the scene where the lieutenant still giving order and his subordinates taking his command gets me every every time. These men aren't just fighting for their lives, but for their country and humanity.

Idk why but the part where the soldier shoots himself just as one of those things comes around the rock hits me the hardest out of all the deaths in the scene. It just totally encapsulates what a terrifying and hopeless situation they’re all in
My god same, it hit so hard for me. I actually came to CZcams just to see peopels comments on it. Honestly, I think it mostly fucks me up because yeah, I'd love to be the awesome dude fucking shit up with a shovel, or be smart enough to blew them up along with myself with a nade, or even dy with purpose by activating the bomb...but I think in my heart, the moment I'm cornered my gun would go to my head.
He was a traitor. Instead of fighting to the last end in order to give humanity a chance, he chose the easy way out by comitting suicide. I do understand the terrifying situation he was in but I’ll rather appreciate if he dedicated his heart to the fullest and died like his others comrades.
i used to hate that guy when i was younger because i thought he could have made a mad dash and get the device but now that i watch this again years later i just kinda go “Yeah, i woulda done the same probably.”
Also I feel like I should point out how well these characters were flushed out in so little time. Through just their actions, and how they react to certain situations, we learn so much about them without any of them going into long expositions about their past. That’s some phenomenal writing!

I love how the louder the music gets the more hopeless the fight gets this isn't a about the battle it's about the war. And when the air force arrives just for a moment you can see the monsters know they lost
That's the thing about Russia. It's so huge I wouldn't be surprised if they did indeed fought/are fighting a secret war against nazi-spawned abominations.
@@banjobill8420 In the episode the demons weren't spawned by the Nazis, actually. They were spawned by a high ranking officer serving in the Cheka Secret Police, which was basically Lenin's KGB
It made it more real and badass in the end. They would eventually run out of ammo and be forced to fight in melee with monsters designed for close combat. Then you have five versus a few thousand. The odds were never possible, so that's why the Lieutenant sent his son for Arial support and decided to make a last stand so the huge horde can eventually be destroyed and his son can make it without being chased.
Well this is most definitely a keter class anomaly, and it only cost an MTF equivalent, and a few (probably dozen or hundred,) civilians. That seems pretty successful if you ask me.

Partisans and resistance from ww2 a.k.a the true great war might be one of its example... Yes, were talking about P o l a n d resistance. From the dust they build, from the dust they end.

I love how everyone know that they’re gonna die. They even can took the risk to runaway. Yet they choose to fight in order to hold the position and not let those monsters taking control the forest.

This episode was the best Warhammer 40K Imperial Guard movie we never got. The Vostroyan Firstborn would be proud! Edit: I realize that they would fit just as if not more perfectly with the similarly badass Valhalla Ice Warriors!
The Vostroyan first-born were created with an eye on the armies of the Russian Empire and the states of Eastern Europe in the 18-19 centuries, warriors in fur coats and hats with earflaps inspired the British to create the ice warriors of Valhalla. In Warhammer, there are Russians from two different eras at once.
the russian with the shovel in my opinion is pretty determined because even at the end he uses one of the monsters (that looks like the monsters from suits) to give him some space to you know try is best to kill

You are not entirely correct here. It was a member of CheKa (emergency committee) who summoned those creatures to help them fight the Red Army. The Civil war in Russia ended only in 1923 after the total defeat of the white army in Siberia and far east region. The Emperor was executed in July 1918 in my hometown Yekaterinburg together with all of his family, yet that didn't mean that all of his supporters immediately surrendered. @BelowAcerageLuke As with most last stands throughout history. No point in being afraid anymore. At that point it is clear any chance to escape has passed. Reinforcements are not coming. ( or at least not in time to save your unit) So may as well take as many of the enemy with you as possible before the end.

Idk why but the part where the soldier shoots himself just as one of those things comes around the rock hits me the hardest out of all the deaths in the scene. It just totally encapsulates what a terrifying and hopeless situation they’re all in

This scene was so bad ass. Sad seeing them die though...
