- My Better Than Cane's Sauce. I started out to clone the sauce from Raising Cane's but ended up creating my own that's even better. The taste is very similar but mine has the supple flavor of celery salt.
Ingredients:
1/2 c mayo
1/4 c ketchup
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp celery salt
3/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1/4 tsp white Worcestershire sauce (Lea & Perrins Marinade for Chicken)

Just tried it, absolutely delicious. Thank you for the recipe. I used exactly what this recipe called for +1/4 tsp lemon juice.
I’m glad I gave this a try, definitely a sauce staple now.
I just made this using regular Worchestershire sauce and it was FANTASTIC!! I've never heard of Cain's but this is really good. I used it to dip my onion rings in. It might be good with a little hot sauce too maybe. Thank you for this recipe! :)
Thanks, I'm glad you like it!
I just found your channel and you are magic with these sauces!!!! This was absolutely delicious and so ia your blackened ranch the popeyes one...WOW!!! Yours are much better than the restaurants!!
Thanks, I think the homemade ones are better.
That's a great looking sauce Tom. I really love it when you experiment and share your results with us. Great job!!
Thanks Troy, I think this came out great. My neighbor is a manager at Raising Cane's, I gave him a sample and he was really impressed.
Well, that's saying something then. Great job Tom!! You are a wizard when it comes to figuring out recipes and improving upon them!
@@TROYCOOKS most dad conversation i've heard in a while😂
Thanks! I made one serving of this to go with lunch in under a minute, it was great!
Hey I was looking for a good sauce for my chicken sandwich. I've never had Cane's sauce but this looks plenty good & I'm gonna make it. I don't have celery salt or that chicken marinate but it's gonna work out just fine. Thanks for the recipe 👍👍
Thanks for sharing!!! I've been looking for a good recipe
I think you will like this one. I just added the ingredients list.
I add a dash of Tabasco and a little sweet pickle relish. Great on Chicken Fingers.
I also use fresh garlic and mix it into the mayo and let it sit for 15 minutes. The garlic permeates the sauce.
I like! Great recipe. :)
Thanks Tess!
This is now on my list of recipes to try.
Thanks Marc!
I don't know why I have not tried the other Worcestershire type. Your recipe looks incredible. I will be making this for sure!!
Thanks Cheryl, it's really good especially with chicken. I might do a video using it in a marinade.
Sounds wonderful :))
I've never had Cane's sauce Tom but this looks like something right up my alley!
Try it Booger, it's really good.
I have got to try this buddy! I just love Cane's sauce
Well here ya go Joe, now you can make it yourself.
Yum looks awesome Tom!
Thanks, it is awesome!
Looked yummy....Awesome
Thanks Cheryl, it really is.
It's amazing how much the addition of anchovies changes the flavors...I don't know if I'll be able to find White Worcestershire sauce but I can give it a shot. The best honey mustard Chick-Fil-A ever had actually had anchovies as part of the ingredients listed on the package..nowadays it's not there and the change in taste is subtle but I notice..I never forget the taste of any chicken or honey mustard I've tried and I notice the differences..like how the chicken poppers at Papa Johns uses taste the same as the boneless chicken bites used to at Pizza Hut before they changed recipes/providers for them.
I agree, anchovies add what's called "umami" it's basically because fermented foods, like anchovies create a natural glutamate. If you can't find the white Worcestershire just use regular.
@@tomstestkitchen Hah! Didn't think I'd find someone else aside from one of the pro chefs on CZcams who knew about umami flavor, this is a nice surprise. And I did pick up some actual Worcestershire sauce that had anchovies, I had previously been using a cheap store brand that while good..didn't have the anchovies so I'm really gonna notice a difference now when I cook with it.
This recipe is great, I add just a little bit of mustard to mine and I find it to be just that much better
I have heard good things about Cane's, yet have not been new one to try it out.
Your sauce looks darn good Tom.
Thanks Joe, Cane's is good but this sauce is better than their's. My neighbor is a manager there, I gave him a sample and he was impressed.
After the manager tried yours perhaps Cane's will be getting there sauce direct from Tom's Test Kitchen!
Great job. Is there a substitution for the white Worcestershire sauce? Its not sold in my area
looks like you have a winner there brother TJ
Thanks John!
Made this 2x now love it !! I added horseraddish cuz we like it w/ a little zip
I love horseradish, great idea.
Looks great Mr Tom.
Thanks Manuel, it really is good stuff.
with the music you picked, this whole video feels like a persona social link event
Yeah, I don't use music anymore.
Great recipe. For a slight variation, follow the exact recipe, and sub with hot/spicy ketchup. Then add a half teaspoon of ground cumin.
You’ve got a new subscriber from this video :)
Looks great.. I've got to try it.. .but you need to correct the ingredients amounts you have listed. 1/2 mayo. 1/4 ketchup.
Good catch, thanks. I was in a hurry when I typed the ingredients in.
Agreed... Would rock a burger!
Amazing
Celery salt. Genius!
Delicious
God bless you sir
That levers on the right side are your brakes. 😂
This sauce looks fabulous! we dont have that restaurant here in Canada ... I will try making this sauce as it looks so yummy :)
Thanks Judi, now you can make it yourself. It tastes identical but I like the supple flavor of the celery salt, especially with chicken.
+Tom's Test Kitchen after watching your video, I searched for other recipes and one had the same ingredients but didn't include the Worcestershire
The Worcestershire is what really stands out, flavor wise. Without it you basically have thousand island dressing. Did it have the celery salt?
I just checked the recipe and it did not call for celery salt ...
I really liked this and even kicked it up a level by adding La Costena Chipotle Peppers In Adobo Sauce but the white Worcestershire sauce (Lea & Perrins Marinade for Chicken) has been discontinued
Ahh I'm glad you mentioned that. I happened upon this recipe and was going to try it on Monday. I wonder if there's a substitute we can find?
Reminds me of Mississippi Come Back Sauce.
I love you, you make me so happy
came back to say IT. TASTES. AMAZING.
That's awesome, glad you liked it.
Tom's Test Kitchen what the correct ingredients for the ketchup and mayo please?
Was it just like their sauce?
@@RememberTheLord pretty freaking close. I come back to this video from time to time to make more. Thanks T Roy.
We don’t have Canes in the U.K. but that’s certainly a sauce I’ll be making. Good looking chef too.... I LOVE that beard! 😍😘😍
Chef getting the pretty women
Lol 😂🤣
Would normal Worcestershire sauce work?
You could call it "Abel" sauce. I'm not even religious haha.
I haven't had canes sauce in a long time. I'll have to fry some chicken strips and try this out. Thanks
This is really good, I like it better than the original
He jst flicked us off secretly... Well played
came for the sauce , stayed for the music
Looks good to me!
It even tastes good too Michael.
if you substitute that Worcestershire sauce with ( bbq sauce + relish) you have the In-n-out hamburger sauce.
Looks good Tom! How is your son after his accident? Hope he is well.
Thanks Kim. He's doing great, the doctors said it would be a long time before he's back to skating. They were wrong.
+Tom's Test Kitchen That's great news! God is good!!!
I’m not even aware of what happened and that’s AWESOME!! Lol going to try this tonight!
And just a little teeny teeny bit of sugar
Dude i got so excited thinking lee and perrins started producing this sauce again. Nope. 8 hears old video lol
Sorry to get your hopes up like that. I really wish they would start producing this sauce again, it was so good.
"Rooster-sheer"
your welcome!

I corrected the ingredients list, it is 1/2 cup mayo and 1/4 cup of ketchup as stated in the video.
thks
Celery salt. Bingo
com'on Tom it's easy, woos-ter-sure that easy. If you pronounce sure like me and not like the Jersey Sure ;-)
IM GONNA MAKE THIS TODAY....WONDER IF I USE THE REGULAR WOOSTERSURE ...LOL ...IF IT WILL BE OKAY???
There's still something missing compared to real cane sauce. Some type of seasoning.
What if I don’t have the W sauce ):
We'll see about that.
Can u help with the list of ingredients if u dont mind
it's in the description below the video
i am your 1000th like
When I made it, it tasted like mayonnaise. What am I doing wrong?
Hmm, maybe you used to much mayo? Friends of mine have made it and say it's as good if not better than the original.
What brand of mayo
Just use your favorite, I used Hellman's. Raising Cane's is a Louisiana based company so I bet they use Blue Plate.
No horseradish?
do you think there is horseradish? I can't taste it if it is.
Missing mustard
To salty, next time I just use celery powder
Love the 80s porn music inn the background.
I'm with Rus, we have Raising Cane's in every direction, and I've never tried their sauce... I'll skip right over theirs and just make this. Then I think I'll try it on a Bison burger (betcha saw that comin')!
Give it a try Dan, mine really is better.
Canes has Lemon Juice
man this is fry sauce
Yep, perfect for fries!
Lol
Isnt this just zax sauce ?
Several others have said the same thing. I have never had Zaxby's, I think there is one near me.
@@tomstestkitchen it's really good I get the wings and things meal everytime you should go sometime 👍
Cane's sauce doesn't use mayo.
The nutritional information on their website lists ESF for food allergies for the Cane's Sauce. That's Eggs, Soy (soybean oil) and Fish ( anchovies in the worcestershire sauce). Eggs and soybean oil are the two main ingredients in mayo.
Tried the recipe today. It’s not better than cane sauce. Too salty. Maybe due to Kroger celery salt being saltier than what Tom used. Perhaps less Worcestershire sauce, a little something extra to make it sour, and a tad less garlic powder. But there is another recipe I tried today as well that copies canes sauce, from Southern Bytes blog. That one produced a closer copycat. Both recipes utilized the overnight fridge method. I just think southern bytes hit the nail straighter.
the music is to loud.
White Worcester sauce, sounds racist😅 excellent combination gonna try it tonight.
Ditch the music
Add lemon juice, try garlic salt instead
