I love "Watch It Played"! I thought my children were too young to play a game like "Space Hulk" but with seeing Luke, around their age, playing I thought I'd give it a shot. Well, my girls loved it! Thank-you for inspiring my family to try this style of game!

Over the last few days my self and two friends have been playing Space Hulk and have for the most part got to the grips with it. Watching this video has clarified a few issues we were having but were not totally sure of/misread/got wrong/forgot at the time.
Thank you for putting this video together, you've got an instant subscriber and I can 't wait to watch some more videos. It should be interesting seeing some new games I'm unaccustomed too and seeing how they play.

Rodney, you continue to amaze me! WIP's production value has grown so much since Mansions of Madness. Love seeing how the show continues to grow and improve! Love it!
Nice one, Death Angel is a really good card game based in this same universe. Really has that deadly feeling of fighting on the Space Hulk and is completely portable so you don't have to lug around the box. It has a number of expansions as well now bringing in more enemies and other marines, even some from the Deathwing Dark Angels force.

This space hulk series was the best one so far. The production value of this one was amazing and I loved watching the game progress with so much tension. I wish it wasn't out of print so that I could get a copy

I foresee theses videos are going to get re-viewed again soon - Games workshop is soon going to release Space Hulk again in the next couple weeks (Same as 2009 version with a few tweaks) :D

your videos are awesome ive learned so many games in a entertaining way and not have to read 30 page manual i always tell my buddies like heey my boy rodney has a new video as if we met each other LOL they ask me if we chill at times im like nah hes just a youtube guy whos unreal with videos. you guys make it right awesome to learn new games and normally i cant sit and watch videos for long but ive watched some of your videos up to 3 times and they could be 30 mins long keep it up guys!

It was a very difficult day and when the intro video and music for Space Hulk started playing, I forgot everything and I started smiling like a kid who just got his christmas present. Great job.

Oh I fear that I will enjoy the series and the game (I'm a long time fan of Games Workshop miniatures games, but never had the right combination of free time/money/effort to actually build and army) and that means that I'll have to struggle to find and buy the actual game! Well, I know that I'm alredy tangled up, at least I can watch the game played thanks to you and your wonderful channel :)

Thank you very much for this great channel! I recently bought the 2014 Edition of Space Hulk. I never played it before (i play Warhammer though) but was always fascinated but the gameplay and the optic. Also the fact that you only have to paint 30 Models instead of 36358623082 like for an Warhammer Army might have attracted me a little bit too:-) However, i bought the Game from a Friend (he is also German). It was still sealed and honestly, i did no research on it and nothing so when i got back home i saw that it's in English. Not that i can't read, write or understand it but it takes a lot of the fun. I googled it and saw that the first limited Edition from 2009 also was released in German Language. But to come to the Point. With your great Videos i don't even have to read a lot in the Rulebook cause you explained it even better. So we ordered Pizza before we started playing and eat while we watched your Videos and then jumped directly in the Game instead of reading for 5 Hours. Thanks a lot and rock on! ;-)

Oh snap! This video is awesome! You should consider a career in this field... lol! Space Hulk is a fantastic game that truly stands the test of time! I got pulled into the world of 40K by the 1st Edition back in the early 90s. I just finished painting all of the models in my copy of 4th Edition and have mission 5 set up on my game table....
This video was from a few years ago, but you'll be happy to hear, this is now my full time work! Awesome job painting all your models too - they are amazing, right?

Haha, what an awesome rules explanation! It sounds so simple! You should be doing this for every game... ever. :D I love all the new effects. And the fire coming from the guns in the intro is amazing!
It sounds like there are way more aliens than space marines... In addition, the time to take actions is limited... And Rodney is rolling the dice... These Blood Angels truly are madmen.

Hey Rodney. I just got a copy of Space Hulk 4th Ed and so I'm back here to re-watch your videos. I've heard there are tweaks between 3rd and 4th editions. I read the 4th manual and I'm curious to see if I can spot the tweaks. It took me 3 evenings of cutting, filing and glueing to get all those awesome models together. Now I have to get my paints ready....this is going to take some time...
Those miniatures take some time to assemble! I remember :) But they sure do look nice!

Wow... I have never been a big table top gamer, but Space Hulk is one of the few games of that sort that interests me. Seems to me that Warhammer 40K would be too much to wrap my mind around, but this, this is interesting. I love Space Marines, and the action shooting sequence was grand, creative and cool. What a terrific video. Mrs Badger and I recently instituted a weekly board game night. So far we just have three games. "Pandemic", "Escape, The Curse of the Temple", and tonight it is the turn of "Space Hulk".
I'm trying to select games which are cooperative and as this one isn't, I'm not sure how well it'll appeal to she who must be obeyed. Plus, on checking to remind myself of the rules, I'm not entirely confident with my ability to explain them in as clear and concise a manner as you have. (I could inadvertently massacre these Marines before a shot is ever fired if I'm not careful.)
So you know what? I'm going to fire up your vid again this evening so we can watch it together before we try to play. Shiny. :) I probably won't show the second one as well or we'll be spending the whole evening in front of the tv (which is kind of what I'm trying to avoid) instead of playing. But I'm going to watch it now anyway for extra credit. :)

Played my first two matches now. Few questions arose: 1: Does genestealer player need to asign the starting blips before the marine player takes the first turn? 2: Does genestealer player get a "free of overwatch fire" movement after gun jam removal with CP. Fe. GS moves, Marine on overwatch fires and jams. Then Marine player unjams. Does the unjamming take place during the next movement action of the GS player or before. In this case the question is: is the next move action free of enemy fire because of the unjamming action? Sandglass makes a real difference in tactics :) After watching the whole watch it played, I thought I would get some advantage, but heck no. Died on 3rd and 4th rounds... Do Eclipse as a play through. Though it needs atleast four players to unlock diplomacy/alliances. Great videos, cheers!

Nice videos! Never played Space Hulk, as it's out of stock in my country, but it was good to watch the rules put to action. You should really try Death Angel, it's an intense cooperative card game with the same flavour.

your right that space marine are heavily armoured warriors but they are not just that even without armor they can survive wound that can kill a normal man and fight for the emperor AKA space jesus

i wish you could have also talk about the assault cannon and both the lighting claw,thunder hammer with storm shield combo and the force axe(and the combi-bolters if they are include)
You're right we didn't cover all the weapon combinations, just the ones we knew would come up during the game play.

NOTE:if you want to know castiel backstory is that it was before he was corrupted and he and dallas were friends with him as his second command(PS:when he lost his squad he and dallas were the sole survivors with dallas trying to help him but failed)

Ignatius Wong My schedule will always be full. People with the game, should be able to learn those last couple rules quite easily from the rulebook, once they've seen our video, so I doubt I'll be shooting additional footage for this series.
Wow. A lot of this game has changed. The last time I played it would have been the first edition. If I remember correctly we had an expansion that added Gene-Stealer Hybrids too.
Oh yes, quite a bit different from the 1st edition, I imagine :)

Vert good review, and excellent game, but got a little question: when a space marine is in a square adjacent to a genestealer, can he shoot? Or is he forced to use the close combat rules?

Do the movements of the marines CAN INTERVALE without control points ?; ie, the Marines have 4 action points, you can move a marine 2AP, then a second three one third, etc, and moved back to the first two action points remaining. Sorry for my bad english.

FYI - copies of Space Hulk can easily be had for under $200 - just watch eBay and BGG marketplace and have patience. I've seen unopened copies sell recently for $170 shipped. A lot of money for most, but not bad if you're a big fan of this game and the quality components.

I don't cover out of print games, as it means people who watch the show can't easily enjoy the game for themselves. The irony, of course, is that this series was based on an out of print game. What can I say? I like to break all of my rules at least once. :)

What about the Assault Cannon? It was not mentioned in any of the playthroughs. Is it because it was the first scenario?
It's been a long time since I shot this, so I would guess that was the reason.

hi I have a question. the timer the space marines run on their turns is it reset every turn or is it one set 3 minutes (I have the game and I timed the timer) for the whole game? Ive been through the rules and can't find the answer.
At the start of each marine players turn, you reset the timer.
Thanks very much. I though it would be that way as it would be way to hard otherwise.
