Versatile were some good ass tractors, very large farm around the corner from us had a 955, the 850 Cummins overheated and died one day so he took it out and dropped a V12 Detroit in its place. It had a 5 inch straight pipe so you knew when he was at work.
Lol my neighbors have a versatile 500 and a 555. They had the 500 first, and their ex son (long story) was hot rodding it down the road and tried shifting it on the fly, jammed it between gears and i swear that tractor jumped 4 inches off the ground and broke the fork off in the trans. After he left the farm, my neighbor had the fork welded and its been working until the drive disk behind the engine grenaded at the intersection in town. They bought a 555 at auction for $2400 and it also has a broken shift fork. Both tractors actually have 3pt and pto, but both tractors are currently broken still.
I had a 555 in an international 2070 A truck and my uncle had 2 555 versatiles all 3 of em threw the flywheels off the cranks. I could fix the truck but both tractors were trashed. We put cats in both of em.
Row crop 4 wheelers didn't really become a thing til the case steigers offered those row crop special in the 1990s that had the steerable front Axel and there was also a fixed frame version that used steering axles. I know IH back in the day tossed the idea around of 2+2 up to 500 horse with Cummins engines. As I type this the Magnum Articulated is on display in Racine and it would have been a decent row crop machine.
we had a steiger rc 210 3208 cat series 3 wild cat with bar axles with a white semi mount planter 12 row corn planter bought it all new in 1977 to plant with
You should really get rid of all that Oliver junk you have and get a John Deere 7810 like I have and a John Deere gator. I wouldn’t touch that junk if it was the last tractors on earth. Good videos but get some better tractors or I’ll have to unsubscribe

I like the retaining wall. Looks nice. it's a better design than I've ever seen.
Great stuff Ethan gonna have a whole new a adventure with that set up ,you will Handel it .

That would be a cool tractor.
very enjoyable vid ethan...look forward to see this setup in action!
Thanks.

The ole girl ain’t use to row crop either 🤣G’job Ethan 🇺🇸
We had a 895 versatile with a 855 Cummins in it. Damn good tractor!!!
4-150 looks great hooked up!
Thanks
Very Nice setup
Thanks.
Case 1470 rigid frame is an excellent small 4x4 for row crop. 1200 had kindve an orphan turbo’d 451 Lanova but was also quite small.
Going to be great to see this rig in action Ethan it's a case of needs must
Yep

on 1 of your vids with this tracctor in it i said then that 4-150 is perfect size 4x4 for your farm
Ethan, they say when there's a will there's a way. Hopefully the 4-150 will do the job like you're hoping it will. Thanks Michael
Can’t do any worse than the 1800

That was a BTO setup in its day.
Awesome
Every thing you do seems bad ass compared to my farm lol
Growing up in central Indiana we had 2 fully optioned Versatile 145's.
Those would be sweet tractors.
@Oliver66FarmBoy last I knew when they were sold at auction they were heading north up your way.
Hope everything goes well for you.
Thanks
4-150 doesn't look as strange singled out when there's something actually hooked to it. Hopefully you can get over some acres with it.
Drives really funny though.
Go big or go home buddy be safe out there your buddy from Nebraska
Thanks.
The IH 2+2 are less HP but they might be about as big as a 4-150, if not they're pretty close
I think the IH is probably a little heavier tractor
The 4-150 had 151PTO HP and weighed about 15000 pounds, the 3388 IH 2+2 had 130PTO HP and weighed about 17000 pounds
He is an Oliver man, right or wrong but thats why we love him
Oh good day...a bloke that gets it done his way👍
Thanks
You shouldn't lack for ponies and traction now. Hope the weather cooperates enough to get side-dressing done.
Doesn’t even have to cooperate with this rig.
How about getting IH 2+2 for row crop use
It wouldn’t be any different than the 4-150…
555 non-turbo cummins is only 200 hp in a truck... VFD I was on had a water truck with one in it, it was gutless.
But the 555 non turbo sure sounds good 😊

She may look funny but whatever it takes to get er done Farm Boy!!
Yep
Why can’t you use big tall skinny tire spray rig?
Let me just pull one out of my back pocket.
Stout setup
Yep
What would a single dual weigh even? Gotta be close to 700 pounds a wheel
Somewhere in that range.
We have a 555 with the 3pt and pto. An engine swap is in its future Im afraid. Like you said, good tractor but shitty engine.
So it still has the 555 Cummins in it?
@@loganbeedy5950 unfortunately yes. DT466 would be cool. Ultimately it will either be sold or get a 8.5 Cummins swapped.
Why versatile put such a poor engine in such a well built tractor is beyond me.
Id much rather watch your channel than millenial farmer, im an oliver fan too
Thanks.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy what will you do with the 2255 oliver?
You are getting kind a old if you ever decide to go into retirement early I want Dibs on the Quincy and the Bridgeport
He's literally only 30 years old
You are a strange individual
