That Went South Quick: AKA, When A 4 Wheeler Yeets A Wheel In The Middle Of The Road

- Everything was going so well up until it wasnt. Luckily it’s not a busy road and nobody and nothing was hurt. It’s a good thing I had the toolbar unfolded because that’s what kept the rear frame from going all the way to the ground. Honestly probably what kept any pivot parts from breaking.
Wheels do fine for 50 years
Takes off duals:
Immediately loses wheel
The mind boggles.
Like Kenny Rogers always sang, "You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel". Glad you were able to get back together Farm Boy. Could have been worse!!
A lot worse.
Wasn't -THAT...."WEIRD-AL'...."
@@davebur3350 Yes, that was weird--And don't call me Al!
You always have the best adventures 😂 Glad you are ok and had no major damage.
Keeps things interesting
That's one really bad day ! Good thing you had spare u-bolts for it.
Sometimes being a hoarder is helpful
Really thankful that you weren’t hurt Ethan and glad that your equipment wasn’t damaged. Dad and I have a few stories like this from the 1980’s. We just got back up and put things together just like you did. You are a good planner and also good at adapting when thrown a curve ball. Thanks again for sharing your experience with us.
That’s all you can do.
Talk about a world-class Oh-shit moment. Providence must've been with you that there were no injuries or major damage to the rig. Thank the Lord for extra hands to get things recovered/reassembled.
My guardian angel must be a nervous wreck.
STRAIGHT💪🚜UP!!!
I look at the bright side. It happened on the road, where you had solid ground, instead of the field. Also, you had spare bolts to put on the wheel. The 4 wheel drive seems to be a great tractor to use with the tool bar and tank. It was a great video overall. I sure didn't see the wheel falling off coming. Really glad nothing serious broke on the tractor, tool bar, or the tank cart. Take care and I'll see you later.
That’s what we were saying the whole time we were putting it back together
Farming is filled with adventure. Thankfully, this adventure was fixable. Thanks for the ride along Ethan. Take care. Fred.
Yep
That tool is working perfectly, pulls straight and follows between rows Great, good job on that tool.
Thanks.
Ouch! At least you got it back together.
Luckily.
That tool bar really saved your day.
Glad you are putting in all new u-bolts. My Oliver mechanic/friend Joe tells me a person should never tighten up old u-bolts, but should always replace them with new ones. Good call!
So cool to see one of these doing the row crop work it was actually designed for. Glad you got fixed up and no injuries or serious damage.
Just another day in a farmers life, glad to see you are okay and that the tractor is back together, thank you again for taking the time to make the video’s
Thanks for watching
You mentioned screens on each of your rows. My old setup on my planer had that. It tended to cause uneven distribution as well as even a little sludge would mess with flow. What I did is remove all screens downstream of the visagage and put one big inline screen between the pump and visagage. I think I used a 30 mesh. That solved all problems on the planter and got those running even….now if I could just get these knifes working.
Always something! I put light bars on the 4-180. What a game changer.
Wow, that is crazy. Definatley woulda been an odd, sickly feeling. Glad you're ok and the equipment never got damaged, and nobody in the road.
Glad no one was hurt and nothing damaged.
Yep
That’s one hell of an adventure for the day. we lost a wheel on the 2150 last summer, that was hell to get it on a trailer.
Usually not something you’re expecting to happen.
It’s wonderful that you have the great friends that you have. Everyone helps each other out of bad situations. 👍👍
They were life savers.
Like a frog a tractor goes deaf if it loses more than one wheel 😂
Excellent job
That's farming for you Ethan always something to hold you up glad no damage done what an experience
Thanks.
I’m glad you’re ok and you were able to repair the tractor
Thanks
Great stuff Ethan
Last year we had simillar happen to our White 8600 combine: the box beam break off at the final drive on the left side when we were cutting oats
I seen that before wheel falls off. That big Oliver tractor would pull that side dresser easily
Whoa! How in the world ? 🎶 you picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel 🎵🎶
Yep
Wow! I am glad no one was hurt and nothing else was broken.
Wow, dang. Crazy stuff happens tho in the farm life. I know a guy who had the same thing happen 20 years ago.
"You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel"
Great recovery OFB from the incident, should sleep well after that day. Pretty fortunate that it wasn’t worse. Take care young man🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
I slept pretty good that night for once.
That corn looks good.
Well you'll have that... Crazy how stuff like that happens.
Yep
Well you got it sorted, that's what counts 😎👌🏼
Yep
One more piece of bad luck. Hopefully with good luck you are right about nothing else being broken. You seem to roll with the punches, I would probably go ballistic.
Nothing you can do about it once it’s done.
Reminds me of the time the same thing happened to my dad with the old Nufield 1060 bringing a load of firewood home in an old trailer made out of a 64 Ford truck we repurposed, except he made it to the driveway & that's where the wheel fell off. lol
Shorter trip for tools that way.
Dang it!! I can’t believe how that came off and didn’t wreck anything. I bet that sudden drop scared the crap out of you.
It was a short adventure
Those bare back tractors are neat looking
If that was a John Deere 7810 that wouldn't have happened you should look into getting one
That setup seems to follow awesome for side dressing in my opinion.
It still needs tweaking.
Glad it worked out ok, always seems to happen when things are going great.
Never fails.
The things a guy has to do for good crops this year. Plenty to do in the off season I guess. Great camera angles again.
All this work for corn that isn’t worth anything right now.
Well that throws a wrench into the plans. Good thing it didn't take out the pump when it came off the axle!
Could have been a lot worse.
Nice save
Could be an illusion but looks like the toolbar hitch bar has some flex in it and may not be straight any more. Cool video with the camera on the tool bar
You have the weight of 300 gallons of 28 hanging on a 6 foot long piece of box tube. It’s gonna flex.
Nice rig. I switched to urea for side dressing this year on a small portion on the acres. If all goes well at harvest. It's much more efficient and cheaper by far. Lots of people around me do it.
Urea is the same price or more expensive than 28. Very rarely does is get cheap enough for a noticeable cost difference. With urea if you don’t get a rain within 24 hours you are already loosing nitrogen back into the atmosphere and the higher the temp and humidity the faster it evaporates. Top dressed urea for the last 14 years. There’s a reason I finally built a 28 applicator.
@Oliver66FarmBoy treat the urea with anvol and it stays put. Different area with different prices. Wish you the best
U keep it up, you'll geter done
At least it wasnt an axle that broke
Yep
Just a question. Why at the end of your rows don’t you have a turn around area instead of running over the corn? I am not being a butt but just wondering
Because that’s a waste of dirt.
Ethan, wow that had to be like getting a kick in the you know where 😳 I was thinking would it help if you put some lights on the side of your cab going sideways into the field when you turned around where you would be able to see your cornrows? Hopefully the rest of things will go better for you. Thanks Michael
Well, you don’t see that everyday! Nice save tho.
Good to see it being used
Sorry about the tractor
Shit happens.
Can't imagine what that felt like. I have blown out tires on tractors front and rear but never lost one. Glad it didn't damage the tractor or plow. Be sure and change your underpants...
It was a ride.
Ooooohhh my Ethan I did that once our haggie at 35mphs going down the road lost a wheel enough to fill your pants.
That would be interesting
Why do you use such a big tractor to do your application?
Because it’s muddy…
My neighbor was mowing with his JD A and it just walked right off and he never noticed it walking or anything and he was happy me and my brother were driving by and we had to go get our skidloader to get the hub and tractor back up.
Right place at the right time.
The one positive thing at least is it didn't take out the pump with it.
Crazy how much worse it could have been... Just to basically lose the tire and nothing else damaged is amazing.
Sometimes bad luck comes with some good luck.
Tire just wanted to go for a swim.
Apparently
It could of come off in s mud hole in the field while you were spinning with everything behind you, just think about that situation so to make you feel better,,i had a rear drive wheel planetary one of 3 gear pins worked its way out and loose dropping a drive gear in our new Case 1175.the tractor only had 125 hrs on it and it was new . My dad got on the phone with the dealer and told them he wanted a new tractor out the next day otherwise he was going to take them to Court,as he didnt want this one fixed, as the metal grindings were now though out the total hydraulic system of the tractor and polluting all the other bearings thru out,, The next day we had a new tractor out and he sold it at 12,345 hrs on it ,no issues or repairs on that straight tranmission model at all done, other than changing fluids
At least the dealer was good about it.
Could be worse. My Grandpa was driving his CIH 450 Quadtrac home after installing some drainage tile and the motor exploded.
I would go back and see about the warranty package possibly a recall 😂jk
Go back and find the guy that tightened the u bolts.
2,4,D ester
Well if you're going to have ragweed you might as well have the giant ragweed isn't that an amazing plant
It doesn't matter what color you have you use it things break
For sure.
The slipping and sliding on the wet greasy dirt in the feild. Sh t happends.
Well your 28 bar works fairly well but the only thing that makes me a little nervous is how much the long tongue on the rear of the bar for the trailer flexes up and down looks like it could stand a gusset on it maybe before next year. Sorry about your bad luck incident but nothing was hurt especially not you. After that long of time you would think that wheel would be a bear to get off but apparently all that stress on just one wheel was too much.
Better to have the hitch flex than have the cart beat the hell out of the toolbar.
I've heard it said if you weren't struggling, it wouldn't be called farming. It would be called something else.
About right.
OMG
Where did u aquire the parts to bulid that aplcator
Here and there.
At least the wheel fell off in the middle of a road instead of in a muddy field
Yep
😀🤣😁😅🤣😀😀🤣
Blame it on the MEDS....
Gobber
You are a strange and rather creepy person. Probably somebody that should be on a government list and not allowed within 1000 yards of a school.
Keep up it hard work love ur videos love to meet u some day an talk tractors an farming
😳💥 I bet if you try to remove one it would not budge with a B.F.H. 👀 Thanks
Paul from Iowa, at least it didn't break the rear housing, nobody got hurt, I don't believe, could have been a lot worse.
That’s what I was worried about when it first happened
Wheel fell off the wagon. It obviously happens but to your tractor? That must hurt. If duals on not a problem, but bad days get good ones and better days ahead.
Yep
I have some WHITE Equipment brochures that I picked up that I would like to give you. I need to know where to send them, they are my gift to you for all the videos you do.
John
Shit happens your not the only one.
Never fails.
And if you wanted to get that wheel off it would have been two days with torch and tools ....
That’s the way it goes.
Sorry
This is what happens when you don't change your engine oil! And your missing the outside tyres Open your eyes!
Are you drunk?
@@Oliver66FarmBoy I think the education system failed this guy
why not plant beans on the end rows after you have planted and sprayed top dressed or what ever you then you wont flatten the corn and waste it and you've get a crop off the headlands before you need to harvest corn
So you go from running over corn to running over beans and you have to make 2 trips to every field for every operation from planting to harvest?
That tractor is kinda like a woman. There's 3-5 days a month, something bad could happen.
Lmao 🤣🤣
What a thumbnail!💩🤯
I lived on a farm, so I can certainly tell the difference between a staged thumbnail, and when things go south . You sir, are obviously way down south.💩💩
God bless I hope it gets better 👍
Thanks
Go get ur tired out of the dich
The hell do you mean? It’s literally back on the tractor by the end.
