Not really a twist, in fact she’s onscreen for about 2 minutes, if that, before revealing she’s the killer. The only mention of her or Jason is a “boy who drowned” in a list of bad things that happened in the camp’s history
"Pieces" wasn't about "rebuilding his mom". He's the one who dismembered her with an ax. She caught him doing a jigsaw puzzle of a naked lady and got rid of it. He killed her in retaliation. Now he's building an actual naked lady out of parts.
Oh man. "Identity" makes another list -- this time, in a good way. I don't know if WhatCulture loves this film, hates this film, admires this film, wishes it was never made, thinks it's underrated, or feels it's not really worth a watch. YET.....here it is again. Making a list. I believe I can state this with full confidence WhatCulture covers this film more than any other channel doing lists! For the record, I really like the concept (i.e., twist) of Identity. I've commented on this before.
What baffled me about the original was the simplicity of the motive. All the sequels were just revenge plots to avenge other killers, but it all started with a bored housewife having an affair.
Although it's not a good movie, I would nominate the twist in the final act of "Rock & Roll Nightmare" aka "The Edge of Hell". It makes a somewhat middle of the road horror movie more entertaining.

Definitely the best choice...It must have been quite an experience at the time. There are some really good articles out there which capture how exciting and different the movie was, breaking a number of taboos (this being one of them), and also how Hitchcock's film actually changed the way movies were viewed in theaters.
Idenity is such a great movie with a great Twist in it and Has Really Good Kills outside of one kill of the movie and the movie did not deserve the hate the movie was just a Modern Day And Then There Were None

I don't agree that Brenda being the "Urban legend" killer qualifies as a "twist". That's one of the typical "whodunit" slashers and Brenda is simply one of the suspects. I for one even correctly guessed her to be the murderer beforehand. She stayed alive long - always suspicious in these movies - and the mid-movie fakescare, where she appeared to be under threat from someone who turned out to be a harmless bystander, was so obviously a diversion attempt that it only made her look more suspicious. Oh yeah - "Identity" is awful. All "it was all in your head" movies are just moronic and insulting.
Identity's twist was unfortunately such a turn-off to me as that entire hour and 10 minutes was simply inconsequential. I get why people can appreciate it, though. Perfect choice for # 1!

That said, Scream, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (all originals) are near perfect classics. And That twist 🪢 that Everyone was talking about being so clever on all these Top 🎩 100 horror movie shows, That I had been dying to see. 😮Was One Of THE DUMBEST THINGS I'VE EVER HEARD!!! (Kai actually got himself in hot 🔥 water 💦 4 this one----He didn't tell me how bad 😞 it was. Like it was his own surprise twist 🪢 The way it was hyped up I thought 🤔 the twist was gonna be great 😃 Butt 🍑 It was Actually one big set up. WTF 🤬 Then why even bother with Setting ANY of that up in the 1st damn place.... And yeah I'm sorry, butt 🍑 if I'm watching a horror film 🎥 When ya get to the weekend with a bunch of Drunken College Kids, Only to find out that it was one big set up? 😮The last thing that Anyone would think would be that it's Hilarious! 🤬Now I Am a fan of 70's horror like Friday the 13th (because movies like That R Clever, Scary, Gory and awesome! Great movie all round! It has some of the best kills in slasher history (even the more archetypal ones are filmed from such an original perspective).

Even though we accidentally predicted it right before seeing it in the theater, the ending to Bodies x3 is still pretty great satire.
