I recently quit and it has been the best choice I have ever made
itâs very liberating thatâs for sure :)
This is a W.
I faced the very same dilemma as you when my channel started to take off. I wasnât sure if i wanted to go back to using social media or not but i knew that it was necessary if i wanted to start a business. At the same time i thought that it would be sacrificing my mental health.
In my opinion and my personal experience, after taking so much time off of social media myself and eventually going back to it, you donât really use the apps the same way. Youâre more conscious of how youâre using it. And when you have the intention of starting a business, it just adds to later of control because you can make that switch from being a consumer to creator. You start to get a better understanding of what captured your attention and what youâre willing to let into your own mind.
I would even go as far as to say that the BEST and only way you can use social media productively is if you have a business of some sort.
thank you for the insight abraham!
i watched your videos a lot when i wanted to reaffirm that what i was doing was right. i remember you saying in one of your videos that you need social media to grow a personal brand/business, which also kinda got me thinking about my long-term goals (and also gave me an existential crisis hahaha).
iâm not sure how you came across my video, but thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts! iâve already started going back on social media & tbh i deleted the app a day after because i found that it was heightening my anxiety, so iâll take into account the idea of shifting my perspective to one of a business ownerâs.
thank you man, your channel helps so many people :)
hey Nicole! tks for the video, it was so relatable! that's a true dilemma - go back to social media to improve your career or stay unplugged - what i think is that it's not certain that social media gives more career opportunities (honestly my freelance clients are mostly referenced from previous clients) but it's total certain that maintaining the use of social media while keeping a consistent sense of personal peace is very hard...
I quit Instagram 3 months ago, and quit Facebook 4 years ago. Itâs only now that I realise that Instagram seems to be working via negatifying your image about yourself through ultra-idealistic content, leading to a depression based craving.
Quitting Instagram literally lets me have 6 hours to myself every single day.
Also, CZcams is far better as a platform.
thatâs amazing & i completely agree! thank you for sharing
I love this video, thank you for sharing your journey! Iâve been on a path of my own to slowly get off of social media and consume more mindful content for what Iâm still usingâ€ïžâ€ïž!
you got this!
im so proud of you and your journey. its not easy but alas so is life!!!!!! đ€đ€đ€đ€đȘđȘđȘ LOVE YOU!
Just stumbled up your channel ,bro you're so relatable ! I just recently got off social media myself,it feels amazing
thank you so much đ„č it is amazing
Great video ! đ
i love ur videos â€
aww thank you đ„č
After my detox, I've never thought of going back on social media so I am very interested in your journey!
I like how you said social media is only bad if it becomes a master and not a servant.
It made me challenge my beliefs on social media and now I know that as long as you use it mindfully it can become a tool to better your life although I won't be installing it back lol
thanks for sharing! honestly, i still have a hard time navigating my beliefs towards social media as well. i think itâs an internal issue with deeper roots đ why did you decide to quit?
I decided to quit after I realized how much time it was taking away from me.
My screentime was 2-12 hours daily consistently,(for about 2 years!) and I couldn't get anything done without checking my phone every 10 minutes.
When I got to my senior year of high school and made me realize I needed to do something with my life and I didn't want it to be me scrolling for the rest of my life.
So I cut it out
I've been slowly reintroducing it into my life for business purposes and decided to make the jump after your video! (thx btw!)
But from what I've noticed in just a week is that it's not the same anymore.
There's no spark or real reason to use it.
Sure I check in on my friends sometimes or see what my favorite creators are posting.
But I have no real desire to use it
I had scheduled blocks of my day for me to check out my socials but I don't even use them for that because it's so pointless for me đ
Curious to see how your journey is going :)
Nice videoo, I felt so related
I love this video nicole please share more content with us
thank u jess luna âĄ
đđ
And CZcams is social media. It's a social media platform.
Unrelated to the video: What mascara &/or eyelash curler do you use? Your lashes are gorgeous!
aww thank you that is my pride & glory HAHAH i use the shu uemura curler + innisfree's skinny microcara zero âĄÌ
are we considering yt as a social media? đ€đ
I think it is , itâs just not as bad as the restđ€·đœââïž
@@sheka9205 I don't know
i talked about it in the video!
@@nicolebasri I need to watch the video then đ
Y'all act like there is something wrong with social media when there isn't. Maybe you are the problem.
Nobody cares
Do you not consider Instagram to be a social media platform? :) I ask because I noticed you're still active on Instagram.
i do, i mentioned in my video that iâm experimenting with getting back on it but with intentionality. my dilemma was with the use of it for progressing my career in this day and age, though itâs not what iâd prefer
@@nicolebasri I gotcha :) Iâm kinda in the same boat, too. I need Instagram.
I know social media is designed to be engaging (or addicting if you will), but I wonder if too many of us are putting too much blame on the platform instead of on ourselves? I know for me I realized I was using social media too much as a form of escapism. Instead of dealing with some issues in my life, I distracted myself with Instagram/CZcams, but once I faced my problems I felt less inclined to use these platforms in excess.
I did enjoy your video btw! :) good luck with uni.
