@@JamesHussain82 Explain how I got schooled? Chelsea got to the final of the CL the season after Mourinho left. Real won it the season after Mourinho left 😉 Why didn’t Mourinho win it with those teams?
The examples I’m using are simply in response to the examples being thrown at me. The fact that a manager didn’t win a CL in any particular season doesn’t, on its own, mean he’s not the best manager.
Look at the overall trophy haul and the quality of the performances and results of their teams. Which of the two has been more influential on the way the game is played. If both of them were being considered for the same job, which of them would get it. That’s the best way to determine the quality and merits of a coach. Pep beats Jose hands down.

Gary is saying Utd are an attacking team to score points with fans, but Jose wasn't backed properly and can only work with what he has got.. You can't play scintillating attacking football, when the club has spent most of its money on players like Pogba, Bailly and Lindeloff, who needed extra help from midfield, and had under performing players like Sanchez, Martial and Lukaku. How Jose won the Uefa cup and finished 2nd with that team was phenomenal.

I actually cant believe Utd won 3 titles in a row in front of this Chelsea team which imo was stronger than Utd, Utd had also great players like Rooney, Ronaldo but imo they were not strong like Chelsea. But its sad what happened in his last season at Chelsea he totally lost the team and I feel he downgraded somehow as a manager and based on what he did at his last teams but tbh I want to see him again at a big club to really see if he can still do a good job or not

@@TheBigD_ for me they werent, i wasnt a fan of a football team untill 2006 or 2007, i remember i used to watch manchester utd tv also and chelsea tv back in 2006 and 2007 but idk I started to like Chelsea more cus of Drogba, Lampard, Terry, Cech. Utd had Rooney and Ronaldo playing good but giggs and scholes ok played decent but they were getting old, i feel Chelsea had the edge its ok we have different opinions

There is nothing that Gary said that isn't true. It's not a dig at Mourinho, I don't know why it was thought of as this way.

It would be great if Mourinho would go back to United.

  • @ProgressIsTheOnlyEvolution

I agree with Mourinho. Though of cause it is easy to say than do anything which amount to success. The problem with Gary Neville's statement in saying the managers coming in should have the same philosophy to what Manchester United supporters has grown up with, is that it leaves no room then for something better...it will also be virtually impossible to find and it would be very hard to find too many managers with the same philosophy, unless the philosophy is as simple as a "whatever it takes to win", which will never be the best philosophy.
So Mourinho's answer "depends" makes more sense, though it would be good to get more details about what he think it depends on. For making the best of what you have will of cause depend on what you have, and overcoming what you are against will depend on what you are against.

I mean how on earth is Gary qualified to talk about management when he failed so miserably himself, not only in football but in business ownerships like clubs and restaurants. Stick to your punditry Gary forget everything else mate! 😊

Why I respect Mourihno is because he chose challenges. He could have gone the Pep route (And I mean no disrespect to Pep). He could have taken manager positions at the top club in each league. Bayern, Juventus, PSG, Man City etc, and won league after league and cup after cup. Instead he always took teams that had the potential, or were the underdogs, to win something.
When he took over at Chelsea (Both times), Inter, Madrid, United, Spurs and Roma... They were all 2nd fiddle to someone else at the time, hadn't won much or were just plain underdogs. This is why I have so much love for this man. He wasn't afraid to take on a challenge. Pep, for example, after Barcelona said he wanted a proper managerial challenge. Then he went to Bayern... No knocking Pep, but Mourihno never went that rout.

Like the only other person to do so was fergie with Darren fletcher, and Roy keane….Jose is having a hard time not because he is bad but because the amount of men on the field that understand to truly achieve the best in physical competition is yes a good leader that will support you on an emotional level on a spiritual level that is when you are struggling but he won’t reveal this to the public..in public when you down he’ll call you a lion…so that when the time comes when it matters…you will run through walls for him…notice mourinhos best teams the world beaters when you ask his best players they all say the same thing they were willing to die for this man
