  • Visualize the Spanning Tree Protocol STP in action using Packet Tracer. In this demonstration you can see how STP stops loops in the network, prevents broadcast storms and mac address table instabilities, dynamically blocks and unbloacks ports and elects the root bridge! A great video for preparing for the new CCNA 200-301
    Here is a link to the Packet Tracer file used in the video: drive.google.com/file/d/1BLS4...

    I don't have to take crash course to learn about switches. I master myself just watching Dan Courses. Thanks for all the hard work.

    The best explanation from dot to dot to understand the spanning tree protocol. THANK YOU !!!!! I only have question which is, as we learned about in general about Network that normally in end to end communication the packet have headers such as source IP and desination IP so that packet reaches the right end user without loop, so why then in STP this loop is caused? Is there no Source IP and Dest. IP in Vlans transport layer?

    • @ebenezeroseiayeh4614
      @ebenezeroseiayeh4614 Před rokem

      The STP is a layer 2 protocol and does not use IP address. By default, switches forward unknown packets and broadcast packets out of all ports except the originating port. This will create a loop and consume all available bandwidth and slowness in the network. STP is the mechanism to break the continuous loop in the network. For routers, when the TTL value decreases to zero, the packet would be dropped.

    This video is constantly interrupted by ads, probably once every 2-3 minutes and it's a major distraction and annoyance. I can understand if you want to monetize your videos and get some compensation for your effort, but having ads in the middle of the video just degrades the quality for the learner. If you could keep ads to the beginning and end of the video that would be great.
