BLENDER: LUNAR GREENHOUSE LAB (PART 1): MODELING

- Starting a new mini-series on modeling and texturing a LUNAR GREENHOUSE LAB. My plan is to model a sci-fi structure that would serve as the greenhouse and put it in a moon-like environment. There are lots of easy details to model. I will do some modeling of the inside of the lab as well, something like rows of plants and some equipment and/or furniture.
Hope this is interesting to you and that you will follow my progress through the series. Thanks for watching!

Cool! Thanks very much
could you please do a 90s computer with a keyboard and a mouse? your tutorials are awesome
I have done some computers here and there on the channel. Couldn't remember where though, so many videos. I could try that sometime but if have to wait until this series is done so maybe a week or longer. Remind me ok
Remember you could use the 'Snap to' function and enable 'affect the rotation' at the bottom to make it snap to a the face you've moved it towards.
Yes, that's right. In my fear of another computer crash, I do all sorts of forgetful things
@@zerobio As someone who can hardly do a basic bedsheet I can defiantly understand. hehe.
@BLACK JAM hey don't knock yourself too much, a bedsheet is nothing to smirk at. But, I hear ya :)
Another great series! I noticed you have some extra MatCaps in your Shading options... is there a good place to find MatCaps for blender? Thanks!
Sorry I missed this. I bought some matcaps a while back but don't remember where, some blender asset website
Thanks for your tutorial. I block at 3:46. When I do extrude and alt+s, it doesn't take the second instruction and the extruded area remains empty. An idea?
Thanks Lydie. I'm sorry the alt-s didn't work for you. Can you please do a couple of things: check that all of your polys are facing outwards, select the wall piece you are extruding from and ctrl-n and recalculate outside. Also, select again and press m and merge by distance in case you have extra vertices. And of you have done any scaling or rotating in object rather than edit mode, select that wall piece in object mode and press ctrl-a and apply all transformations. Then try the procedure again. If it fails, delete the wall sections and start again where you select the edge at the front of the ship and continue from there. Let me know how it all goes for you.
@@zerobio Thanks. With merge, it's ok.
@@lydieblaizot good work!

Sure thing, go ahead and good luck
