OC looking forward to exhaust mods for this bike, definitely the most concerning part for me because of the location and proximity to your right leg. Hopefully thereâs great options with good heat protection for this bike
As an owner of one of these, I can say that the black plastic heat shield does its job well. Thereâs also a second metal heat shield under that. The panel by the seat that wraps over the top of the exhaust has insulating material under it so it stays cool as well
OC: Since Beau has always been into cruisers. Now with a Harley in the shop. You could do a funny parody video of Beau as Darth Vader converting Chase to the Darkside of cruisers. And since everybody in the shop is a bit of a goofball it's guaranteed to be hilarious.
If you want to transform that bike. go get legend drop in cartridges for the front forks, and a legend rear shock. that alone will transform the way the sportster rides.
Chase, after watching your review on this bike a month ago. I pulled the trigger and got me a Harley sportster S. I am loving the bike, canât wait to see the modifications that you make. Iâve been a long-time follower of your channel and always learn a great deal from you. I am coming from a Ducati Diavel, and regret selling it last year. Was going to get me another one and then I saw your review on this bike. Never thought Iâd get a cruiser or a Harley for that matter. Oh man I agree after riding it, this bike has something special about it. Looking forward to your videos on this bike. Looking forward to what you do with that rear fender. Thatâs the first thing that must go for me. I will follow your lead you guys always make great modifications.
If u want to do a comparison video of the sportster vs the old sportster I have a 2018 1200 roadster in the Atlanta area
OC: exhaust definitely, and a comparison to the Tracer and Livewire would be really cool! The Tracer is a performance touring bike, so I think it's not inappropriate to compare it to a sporty Harley. Which one is comfier, faster, handles better, etc.
OC congratulations guys yall have a amazing channel one of my favorite channels to watch. Also I really enjoy the weekly podcast. Cool cardio hat.
Sick! Canât wait for the long term vids! Very interested in this bike.
OC Can't wait for the Harley content! And definitely want to see something done to make the exhaust look good on this otherwise beautiful machine
Awesome to see Harley giving you guys some love.
Noice bro...seeing channels like this is what inspired me to start my own....have fun and enjoy
Looking forward to every video on these bikes. I feel like a younger person looking at Harley might be trying to decide between these two bikes.
OC! Exhaust for sure!!! I can't wait for all the amazing content on this build!! đ maybe a head to head with the new 2022 yamaha XSR900?! I love you guys long time!
Stay away from the Harley parts (catalog) that is the only thing I ask and think you guys should work towards. Some of their stuff is great, some of it not so much. You could get way better tuners, exhaust systems, fairings, SEATS, etc outside of the Harley âcatalogâ. Plus I think we as Harley riders would love seeing you work on some of the stuff we see in the Harley community anyways.
Im super excited for this bike build and glad to see youâre doing well man. You were one of the three OGs that got me into riding.
Hell ya cant wait for this content just got my sportster s. Play with the exhaust first, make her sound better
STRAIGHT.. PIPE.. đ€€
Live in the area and itâs awesome to see a local rider providing reviews! Love the content sir
I think it would be really cool to see a versatile build. What I mean by that is accessories it in such a way that you change the look and the function quickly. Example of there are quick detach fairings and bags then the bike could go between a touring mode and something more aesthetic.
so pumped for this OC crew
I'm a sport bike guy at heart but I am excited to see future content on these Harleys:)
You have to slap a "my other bike is a Dyna" on the bike ... just for poops and giggles.
OC That LiveWire got me all excited đ€©
OC looking fwd on all the livewire videos!!
Wow. That's awesome!
come on bro! Your hilarious...the t shirt in the beginning. đȘđŒđŻđđŒđ€Ł Wow Congratulations...Free for Me!! Awesome!!!!
OC WOW! Way to go Harley! Now that is a vote of confidence :)
OC: Sportster S has caught my eye as possibly being my first cruiser after mostly riding sport and sport touring bikes. Interested in the basic mods like exhaust and possibly ECU mapping.
Please do dyno runs with big power mods! this is the way!
Congrats, I did a video a while back on what I would do to customize it, Suspension & Risers or new Bars would be top of my list.
would love to see the sportster S made comfortable. new bars, better body position. congrats on the HD
I vote, "Riding 300 miles up (or down) the Mississippi River, on A Sportster" route. It would give good in sight on Gas milage, querks and all that, plus a historic place to ride. đđŒđđŒ
Isn't Beau the resident Cruiser Boy? I thought for sure he'd be riding. Great video! đđœ
Ahh the Smortster S is ALIVE!
Yes!!!!
Looks so good
OC I got long legs so I like the forwards on the sportster s, but I would love to see taller bars/riser options for it.
love the guys over at Killer Creek! i used to work for them last year help manage their online sales.
After a month of ownership, my top two daily rider concerns are the windshield for longer highway rides and not the exhaust but the top of the engine that gets very warm in city driving to the point that I end up only putting my left leg down on full stops which is a bit of bad habit to get. In terms of mods I'm definitely ponying up for a better seat and if I find the left side saddle bag I'd also want one.
Just bought one Saturday and itâs wicked
OC: i would love to see some custom fairings done for the sporster S and have the shop put their spin on it. new exhaust, maybe different suspension. what about a scrambler build, lets make this bike completely different than anything being done with this version
Iâm sure Iâm not the only one but long distance with the sportster s would be something a lot of riders would be interested in. Me included!
OC: I'm curious to know if there's any noticeable difference in the quality of build, components, etc. with the Live Wire now that it's been spun off from the Harley branding and costs significantly less.
OC: I'd like to see exhaust and handle bar options. Also, reviews from everyone in the shop about the bike since you guys all are differently sized.
Guessing what bike you were going to pick up was pretty easy . Your shirt was a very good clue. Interesting side note , I sold my Harley a couple weeks ago . And in less than a hour here I'm off to buy a 2022 Honda Grom ..... My first mini moto. đ I'm excited Have an appointment at the Dealership ..... Keep up the good work . đ
Did you get the mid contols for the sportster? Can't wait for some updates.... this on my list for next bike, just worried about that short rear travel..... yes mod please woot.
Would be interested if it is possible to change out the rear suspension on the Sportster for longer travel.
OC - not sure what to do with it. But super excited to see some stuff on the livewire.
OC. Weâve sold a few of these at my shop in NY and aftermarket exhaust sounds are the biggest thing we all want to know! A fender eliminator is a big ask too. That said, the Harley engine guards go on easy and look great. If you can get your hands on the parts, Iâd love to see the bike get the pillion seat and backrest
The shop that services my Kawasaki had a Livewire up for sale. It really surprised me how small those things are. Yeah I didn't take it out for a test ride but sitting on it in the shop and it felt smaller than the Zero SR/F, which I have ridden. The Livewire was a fine looking machine though. oc
You guys need to do rear set foot controls and either clubman or clip-on bars. That thing would make the ultimate cafe racer!
OC: Being that this is a replacement to the Evo motor, I'm curious to hear how good it can sound. Maybe you can pick up several exhaust options and try them all to find the best one.
This sportster s content is exciting
I'm not personally a fan of the sporty. But I love seeing how Harley is trying to change things up, its crazy they just donated the bike to the channel like that! Regardless, I wish yall the best of luck with the bike, may it bring many good videos.
Oc congratulations on the Harley..
OC I'm thinking of exhaust but don't know if Rhinhart or Two Brothers Racing. Side mount the tag to get rid of that finder that all the new similar bikes are coming with.
OC. Based on the launch video you made. Comfort seat and suspension would be good mods to do. But the suspension might feel different with mid controls
OC: Definitely exhausts and bar-ends
It would be cool to see Chase wrenching on the sporster s alone like he did back in the day. đđœđ
Can the exhaust be changed
Adding one more disc at front will really help the braking
You have to do a track day on the livewire!
Exhaust mods. And ive seen some sick photo of them with an FXRT ferring
Exhaust is a must.
Nooooice đđŒ
I'm very excited for this.
OC
OC: Would like to see the full hooligan treatment. Pipe, intake, tuner, etc. Also interested long term in how those short shock absorbers treat ya.
OC: LiveWire and Sportster S⊠2 of my fav bikes right now. Add the Pan America and youâve got âem all. Really give the seat and suspension some testing on the Sportster S. is it really as bad as Chase said when he hit that bump at the press event? Iâve spent about an hour on the bike and it really felt hard but figured thereâd be room to fix it if I owned one.
I wanna know how many harley guys come at you with "That's a girl's bike!"
I took it to motoamerica for the weekend, and all the Harley riders were absolutely in love. I didn't get one bad comment from any of them. I wasn't expecting that kind of reaction to be honest. - Beau
awesome! a Harley Davidson...no one has those, you'll love blending in with everybody else.
First I would say not to mod the bike at all so the 1 month review is on the stock version of the bike. After that I'm thinking maybe a bigger tank? Black it out? idk. I'm assuming the longer you have the bike the more we will learn about it and kind of make decisions on what to change like tires, suspension etc. Regardless I think it's an amazing opportunity for you guys and hopefully this will lead to more in the future.
OC: excited to see what you guys do to this. Mids are a must imo.
Psst⊠do the heavy breather for itâŠ
I didn't think you could mod a loaner bike?
Edit: I'm a dummy and wrote that less than 2 minutes before he mentioned it being the shop bike now đ
Please make a 2-1 exhaust that turns down.. (not as high like stock, about peg level probably) thatâs what Iâm waiting for on my Sportster S. Iâll prob remove baffles soon if thatâs easy to do, Iâve seen someone do it and it shoots flames. I just want LOUD loud. Also plan on doing a bigger rear tire.
OC: I knew it would be the Sportster S ....get ready chase to pay that "Harley tax" cause it's going to be more than you think!!!
1. Add substantial suspension travel to the bike.
2. Change tires into standard sport 17" sizes
3. That is all.
...
4. Ignore steps 2 and 3, do a scrambler Sportster S/Pan America build with 17/19s and crash protection.
Put a better seat on the Sportster S, preferably one with a butt stop on it to keep you from flying off the back of the bike and then do a top speed video. I'm really diggin this bike.
Cartridge kit in the front and real shocks in the back on that Sportster. That's where I would start, then some braided brake lines and some Galfer pads and rotors.
I dont think it needs a cartridge kit? Figured with usd forks it would already be a proper cartridge setup. My Magna wasn't so I had to do a kit for it but it's also 20+ years old lol
@@fastec5 I'm not sure about the Sportster S but I can say for sure that the inverted forks on all the softail, fatbob, lowrider s, st, fxdr, as well as the Street Rod 750 and any of the older models like the CVO breakout and v-rods were not cartridge style forks, just inverted with standard damper rod internals.
@@fastec5 the 39mm conventional forks on the FXDX and FXDXT were cartridge internals and in pretty sure the Pan America and Livewire have cartridges.
@@mattfreimark5248 huh, didn't know that. I would figure with USD forks that they would have gone the whole way and made actual modern suspension out of it lol
@@fastec5 having worked for a Harley dealer and been around them for as long as I have, I can tell you they don't do much modern. They cater to geezers who don't care about all that stuff. Plus as we used to say H-D stands Half-Done, because that's how they deliver their bikes.
get the '66 series trim pieces from HD, they look sweet
OC - really want to see a full day ride on the Livewire with multiple charges. I did the demo ride in 2014 and know it would be fine commuting to work and back but afraid of an all day ride with friends riding their gas bikes.
OC: Looking forward to sportster s mods. New pipes first imo.
OC: would love to see ya go up against a vrod. definitely want to see ya make it the way you would want - bars, exhaust, tune, paint/wrap. put the CHASE style on it cause ultimately that will be your bike to ride around not mine. as much as I would not mind one I have my vrod and I absolutely love how that power band works.. 2500 and up it just pullss.. anyway lookin fwd to seeing what ya do.
and with the live wire - is it a true daily, or is it a weekend warrior? how is the charging around town, peak kW and how consistent is it with charge.
OC: Turn the sportster into the ultimate sport touring bike
With this bike if you own it indefinitely I wonder what exhaust you would put on the bike honestly ? You always say how you would change it in your first rides but now you can ! OC
1. Have the vertically challenged riders do a ride and review on both bikes.
2. Have Brian tear into the Sportster S and give a mechanic's review on build quality and ease of maintenance.
Adding a fairing would be a splendid suggestion my good sir.
OC: chase how comparable is the sporster s to the Indian ftr? They seem pretty similar on paper I would be curious to see them stacked against each other.
build vids on the s would be sweet
I think you should put a sport fairing on it.
I would love to see what Erik Buell could do to all the cool bikes Harley has been putting out recently⊠this bike in particular
OC:Please try to make it something inline with a cafe racer, something clean subtle yet jaw dropping
OC: I mean may sound simple but some small wind protection? Something go make it doable for a comfy trip for a mountain ride review lol
OC: you should see what is the longest you can go on the Sports S, like a Turing type of ride.
I wanna see the cbr streetfighter!!!!!!
Wow. Shoutout to HD.
YUK
Congrats guys!! Sportster S would look sick if you turned it into big ass scrambler..with some phat nobs!
I gotta ask could you please test ride the cb500f đ„ș
I would love to see the bike turn into a daily rider. A bike that you can leave in a jacket and ride home in a t shirt. Wind deflation, storage and some versatility for a day ride. Its not a bigger, just a fun but capable day rider. Thanks for giving me an opportunity.
Put an exhaust and a stage three on the Sportster S
Moto-camping with the Sportster S
Need some vance and hanes pipes ajd bigger top end build
T-Bar, Exhaust, Filter and Tune that damn thing! That 1250 motor will be stupid after that!
