- Scott Moninger stopped by The Pro's Closet Vintage Bicycle Museum to reminisce about his first professional bicycle, this day-glo 1991 Team Coors Light Serotta Colorado!
This bike is on display, along with other notable vintage bicycles, at The Pro's Closet's headquarters in Boulder, CO.

In 1991, Winning magazine did an article on Davis Phinney's Serotta team bike. It was a gorgeous bike.
Currently own and ride a Serotta Colorado LT. Stiffest bike I've ever owned. 22lbs. It hangs on the wall in the living room, like art.
Great comment! But did you enjoy riding it?
@@kamuelalee By stiff, I mean that the bottom bracket feels stiff, not that the bike is uncomfortably stiff - great set of forks. Also put a Brook's all leather saddle on it - super comfy! Thanks for asking.
@@jthepickle7 Sounds like a great bike, tho a bit on the heavy side for a road bike.
@@kamuelalee In 1984 there were very few carbon fiber frames out and titanium was too expensive for me, but all the guys I rode with had steel frames, just like mine.
Gary, the creator of Clif Bars invited me to go on his annual ride, once around Yosemite. Four of us, with steel framed bikes, rode 100 miles a day for three consecutive days, sleeping in motels and carrying tiny packs. I was the only non-racer, the other three were Cat 2. But I had once ridden from Miami to Seattle and had done many back to back centuries. Me and my clunky Serotta kicked ass!
@@jthepickle7 So now, after all those miles, your Serotta is taking a well-deserved retirement hanging on your wall like artwork.
Great to hear Scott's recall. Great video concept .Hope to see more
I want those jerseys in the back!
Oh man I recognize some faces in those 80's pics from his junior days.
I have one of Scott's Mercury racing bikes. It's the metallic gold color from around 2000. He sold the bike at Veloswap in Boulder. Would be willing to sell.
Almost 22lb... that was heavy even back then... I was riding a Paramount that was around 19lb depending on wheels...
Saratoga, NY. Sarasota is in Florida.
Saratoga, CA
@@kamuelalee Serotta’s workshop was in Saratoga Springs, NY
@@bitpuddle Saratoga, CA is where I live.
Aero mullet
That hair tho...
The bike is from the 1990s but the music is early 1980s. WTF?
CZcamsrs get their noses bent out of shape about the strangest things.
