There is one game that has actual ai traffic that reacts to stop signs and traffic lights, its a firefighting game called fire simulations. Edit: And yes, we helped make it!!

Initially, AI Traffic seems like a good idea until you realize how will they navigate Roadwork and Crashes. Because even if DOT has set up traffic diversions it will be almost impossible to program cars that can navigate and understand road signs, cones, message boards, ext. set up by DOT.

@@z3ntl3wip Technically yes, but it would be really hard to create a system that can reconise that there's cones in the road and act accordingly and decide wether its safe to make a U-turn without hitting any players or other AI cars. Because no matter how advanced a system is it will never have judgment even comparable to a human and will always make mistakes. ( I am totally with the idea of AI cars but as a game developer as well im just considering if its even possible and if it is really worth how much effort is needed to create a whole new system unlike any other game on roblox)
@@FBI_Media the algorithm will not be a very easy one, for the cones you can detect them and depending on a algorithm determine based on surrounding objects when to do what dependent on what type of object. It is not an einstein issue to solve, still not the easiest, but not that tooo complex as of you speak of.
@@z3ntl3wipit might not be complex, but the devs are definetly lazy (seeing the past updates) and wouldnt even try to do this because its too hard.
I am a Roblox developer I code and build. Adding AI cars would ruin the games preformance no matter what you do because the Roblox engine isn’t really made for that it would cause you to need very expensive computer hardware and very good WiFi/ Ethernet which a lot of people don’t have and there’s the issue where coding that would be incredibly difficult it’s almost impossible to add it and make it realistic. It possible on a super small scale and that’s all
My phone can barely handle loading into roblox. I'm not buying a PC since I can barely afford anytbing anymore. I have a ps5 to play roblox but I can't play erlc on it.

In the graphics menu like in GTA, they should add population density + traffic level settings for mobile or crappy PCs
Yes it would be good bc public servers would be realistic and u could rp also in private servers could have better rp so when u r running radar there are not many cars ever but the ai cars would be there for u to rp with.
This would be cool but also really goofy, like just imagine a shootout going on and then some random car(s) just start casually driving through
AI traffic would be cool but the roads in ERLC are mostly 1 lane, If there was AI Only on the highway that might work. If they change the whole map and make it a bit bigger, they might add AI traffic althought that is very very unlikely as that would take years maybe.
AI traffic is needed I want it because then ERLC won't look like a ghost town when most places r so empty
It would make it really realistic and feel more like real life, def should be added! But if theres like a chase or fire it would be hard to code for them to move out of the way.
the traffic would probably not be too jammed since that would likely lag the game but there could be traffic jams every now and then

Keep in mind that Taxi Boss made functioning AI traffic that can stop at stop signs and traffic lights, can react to other cars, and even has pathfinding.
I would like this because it would be way fun and the roads won’t be lonely there would be more activity like GTA 5

Yes it would be a lot more fun and easier to hide in unmarked vehicles.. it would force some players
The few things that would be more difficult would be the Border roleplays that happen. The cars aren't going to stop which would make it a little weird unless I'm guessing the car is behind the other car. The second thing that would be harder would be trying to get away from robberies. This could make it more fun or less fun because it would help the cops/criminals have a bigger chance to crash which would be better for the other team, but very frustrating for those who crash.
Probably will be a better idea to make it possible for AI traffic to be enabled and disabled in private server settings and it should be possible to choose how many cars would be on the road so you can have the ability to make the roads have a lot little or anywhere in between amount of traffic
Probably PRC should hire more Devs.
It should be an option for servers and it could be voted on or have dedicated servers for it
I think it would be fun and make the game feel more alive and make it harder to just go 100mph round the map constantly. But first I think Car physics need a major fix, as when you get rammed you end up getting flung which makes no sense, and when you're going really fast over a hill you don't jump like you should.
If it does work, AI tltraffic should be qble to use job vehicles, and when being pulledover, sunce you cant talk to them, you should be able to use a popup menu like "you were speeding" ir "id please", then theyll gove you your ID, and you can cite them.and all that and sometimes they might run
There's actual game with AI cars and AI NPCs walking around and it's called "AI Test"
Yes, that game is very good, the ai traffic is amazing, it's a very good game
Dream outcome: full AI traffic with traffic levels and crash levels available for private servers. AI cars crash into each other and make real dents and scrapes based on how bad the crashes are. Some cars would not follow all the traffic laws allowing for police to pull over the AI traffic and cite them.
The only problem I see is emergency vehicles trying to get to calls so maybe a feature were the cars will move over a little to let pass
I would love ai traffic in ERLC. I understand that some people don’t drive properly, but on the highway it would be so fun!
they need to add AI calls for the police team, like a shootout at a house or a kidnapper so you dont have to cuffrush. like if you like this idea

successfully creating AI traffic would be really cool. like it reacts to all roads signs and lights and also if it's interactive with emergency lights and things like that
There's this game, polish car driving, they have a bit of ai traffic, and it's working pretty well, making the game world more alive, they need to add it here
I feel like ERLC should make it a private server setting only for the server owner and they can adjust how many vehicles they want and like where they want to the AI to be. A prime example is the highway
Yes they should 100% add it and would make away if the emergency responds like police/sheriff/firefighters if they have there sirens and lights on and its more realistic that way
if they got out of they way for ems or police or fire dept. and pulled over for police cars that would be pretty sick.
It can work. If its possible to make a script where if you're in a near range of them and your going to cut them off, they can like slam on their brakes. Thats how GTA works.
a good example of ai traffic is crime logic, although it isn’t really traffic it’s just police, it’s a good example.
It would be very nice, but the scripting for the cars moving out of the way of fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, others would be difficult
maybe the devs could put it into tier 3 servers with a small amount of cars, like just one or 2 going along highway 55 every few minutes
it would be cool but there's a lot of bugs including when you're in a police chase and you hit a ai car it will completely stop you and the ai car will still go and that's not realistic, but it would be cool in your own private server
Not too advanced, but a game called Motorcycle Mayhem has similar traffic to "traffic testing" but they turn and adjust to the highway. AI traffic just on highway 55 that goes from one tunnel to the other with a similar system to Motorcycle Mayhem would be amazing.

The problem with AI Traffic in a realistic rp game they need to be realistic of talking so, they have to animate blinkers when turning, Ai needs to know when to stop at signs and lights, knows how to switch lanes, pull over/yield for emergency services, and coding the route for the AI to randomly coordinate around the map is incredibly hard to make happen cause such games make the AI traffic go only in one direction
yes, considering they already have the AI amergency missions i think they should add it, it will make the game feel less empty and more packed and nicer to play

It would be good bc if you were to rob something with no cops nearby you can just hop in line with the other cars and they won’t know where you went or which one you are but if you are going crazy than it’s pretty obvious
I think for a normal public server this would not be a good idea but maybe they could make a different server for AI cars which would be better as people that are interested in RP whit AI would play. I have thought about AI cars before I always thought it would be a good idea as criminals and police would have through serve to traffic, It would be cool being EMS and seeing everyone puling over to the side to let you pass.
They should add motorcycles, bikes, scooters and etc. it would make the game even better and a button on mobile you can ragdol instead of laying down slowly and unrealistically

Personally unless they were developed to somehow get out of emergency services way then it would be amazing but as multiple people said the game would lag really bad E:R:L:C roads is fine how it is in my opinion
There is a moving AI in a game which can turn and follows all road rules called taxi boss this is probably the best AI u can get
Also, AI police would be cool and a ACTUAL COURT SYSTEM that would be awesome.
In my opinion, I think ER:LC should add vehicle damage for when car collides with other car, the damage would varies depends on the speed of collision.
Would be cool for chases like if youre in a chase and just get around cars wich can make you loose the police more likely
Well, I think 🤔 we should for Roleplay servers I don’t know if I wanna add AI traffic cars on a public servers I’ll see
I have a few suggestions for this its just simply for police but could be adapted to other first responding jobs as most public server players will run and you rarely get a proper traffic stops which can vary scenarios it'd be like police simulator patrol officers like the car could be stolen, expired license plates, etc or they could run and get into a police pursuit that's suggestion 1. suggestion 2. is just AI drives you don't actually interact the main point is to fill the roads, it'll add a challenge for not only the suspect running from cops but the Police team and other first responders having to navigate large amounts of traffic now they will yield but like in real life there's a chance some won't which adds the challenge for first responders to navigate traffic to a call out without causing an accident. And my final suggestion is still AI traffic however its a call out and not a road-filler for example like the dot with AI drivers (partially) police will get calls to block traffic for a fire or car accident or something else like that or there's something like a reported drunk driver who is reported by either a player or the game system and police are required to check it out get into a traffic stop and do DUI which this will add more immersion the only thing about this suggestion is its controlled so it wont lag the server too badly, now obviously this can be disabled in private servers and by personal players in public servers via settings but this would make RP videos a lot nicer just to make the city not feel like a ghost town and make it seem like it actually has civilians.
I would like ai traffic to be added but only a few cars because imagine trying to back up a DOT tow truck but you can't because there is a lot of ai cars behind you so there should only be a few. Also they would have to somehow be programmed to go around DOT cones and stuff.
AI Traffic is a good Idea But ERLC is on ROBLOX So YOU NEED A GOOD internet Speed and 50% of the people don't have that good of the internet. My Suggestion is that ERLC creates its own game on steam!

While it'd be weird, I feel like we could have very light traffic. Maybe you could see 1 or 2 cars every now and then.

It would be cool if some ai were criminal which means police will have fun things to do without dying instantly from real players or the ai have guns but shoot slowly

Should've show cased "Ai Test" It has very good AI Which takes turn's, they even have it based off GTA5 and AI Police officers who follow, and leave their vehicles to apprehend you.

They could add it only to small servers and if there's more people some cars would go in the tunnels

im not going to lie they need to add like police chases but with ai so polices can have something to do when you have no calls

There was a roblox premade game that was open source that featured not too bad driving AI but its hard to modify it into the game, the name of the demo is “City People Cars” or smth

I think there should have AI traffic and if possible(most likely not) real time traffic
i would like it but it would make driving harder and produce a lot of lag
But there is also another problem, like in private servers, there may be borders. What will happend then? Or even in public servers? If we are talking about private servers then maybe it could be an optional setting button.
They should add it to the private servers only and use the Pro Server Pack so private servers can use it only because like you said ER:LC Public servers are highly chaotic.

Just look at Ai Test bruh. NPC's stop at red lights and use indicators. I believe they even stop at stop signs, but i haven't looked too deep into it.
