Hi, thanks for the videos... Hopefully the second season of Netflix mole will be better than the first season, more intimate and not over produced.

The red screen threw me off Comfort's trail (that and running the 4 out of 5 laps in the military challenge, but more on that later). I didn't think it was a great place for the mole, sure, but mostly because SHE ACTED SO DAMN WELL. HOOOOOOOOOLY COW. I just didn't think the mole would be able to pull off those sorts of emotions. Damn.
The funny thing too is when I look back and think on the actions where she shouldn't have necessarily earned money as a mole, they all mostly make sense. Running in the military task? Maybe she walked for a bit but had to start running when another contestant caught up to her. Giving up her code in the bunker? Only did it when Ruben refused his. (This should have been a warning flag. When a contestant changes their mind from not being helpful to being helpful after realizing another contestant is stubbornly refusing, you have to think they can be the mole and use it as an opportunity to look good). Knowing the fact that her song was a cover in the Diner challenge? Could have EASILY skipped over the $1000/$2000 card without anyone else knowing. The Speed challenge is obviously now a brilliant double bluff, since both Toos and Lancelot were on the bus and both suspected her. She says in the finale that it's hard to sabotage with Toos around and she does seem to do well in the photo challenge, but that could have been exclusively due to Toos' tenacity.
During the finale, they kept laying Lancelot on so thick, and Toos seemed to do everything right, to the point that I was having immediate second thoughts during the final test. As soon as Lancelot won I was DUMBSTRUCK. I hooted and hollered like a madwoman. I had NO idea who would be revealed at that point. And Comfort stepped out??? I was on a high for an hour. (I need to quit watching this show so close to bedtime). Then they showed her little moley moments at the end, and can I say how HAPPY I was to be wrong! Lancelot as the mole would not be a fun reunion/ending. I will reserve judgment until next week, but Comfort might go down as the best mole in history for me. Brilliant acting, brilliant deflecting, brilliant sabotages that just read as human error. I'm always hoping on this show that the mole will mole in ways I'm not expecting, and I think Comfort will deliver!
The other funny thing is I was right on my hunches about Toos. I really thought he suspected Comfort. My gut instinct told me both that Toos was too contestant-like in his reactions, and that they were laying the suspicion on Lancelot too thick. If only I put it all together! Comfort was just too damn good. Second year in a row I went against my gut and got it wrong (although last year I was hoping they'd go for the 'fun' choice, they went with the 'safe' choice, so this year I went with the 'safe' choice, and look where that got me XD). Rats!!!

I agree with you a lot here. It wasn't the red screen that put me off Comfort though. I absolutely thought she could've been acting, and the fact that she didn't get a single one of the four photos correct wasn't a red screen - more of a red flag! I can't remember why I took her off the top of my suspect list, when she'd been my primary suspect for basically the entirety of the first four episodes. Unfortunately I don't say in the comments. I definitely clocked the bunker thing. And yes, as soon as Comfort was revealed, I went back to the diner task and realised: "Wait, two cards weren't even shown when it was Comfort's turn. What if they were high amounts?"
I think Comfort was a really good Mole. Not quite up there with Alina, who's my "recent Mole gold standard" if you like, because Alina had more opportunities to screw with the candidates and made the absolute most of it, whereas Comfort lost E500 in the diner when she had all the advantages. Comfort did a fantastic acting job though. Quite possibly the most deceptive Mole in terms of just having a great candidate persona.

i know the rule said in the episodes in always " The mole never goes home" and not "The mole never gets a red screen" so yeah now we know the mole can get a red screen xD
Even though i feel a bit odd because of this move i can tell you how joyful i was when lancelot won even though i was on a season long tunnel vision on him and how shocked i was when Comfort was reavealed. i never really suspected Toos before and all of a sudden i was lost in theories x3 .
i can't wait to see more next week about all the mol actions especially the mole puppet x3 ( for me it's as cool as when Mol Jan had to walk just by the other candidates in WIDM )
Overall a great final as always and they always make cool reveals. Can't wait to see more seasons in the future and your theories

I feel like everything Lancelot did in this episode was a desperate attempt to make Toos suspect him. Suggesting the wrong answer for the news clip that everyone has seen. Randomly climbing on top of the vehicle when he was supposed to be filming the cactus. Struggling in that boat forever. Lol. Lancelot as mole never really felt right to me; it just seemed like the best option. I should have trusted my gut. But anyway, as soon as Lancelot was revealed as the winner, I knew the mole had to be Comfort.
I do think that Comfort has had some very good mole actions. And she is a BRILLIANT actress, for sure. I am looking forward to next week’s episode, to see more of how she sabotaged. However...I’m just going to say it: I really don’t like the way the red screen was done. The candidates were essentially lied to. And I know...nothing is what it seems to be in WIDM/De Mol. BUT I think that the group should at least be able to trust what Gilles tells them. And they were misled here. The candidate with the lowest score was not going to get a chance to save themself.
I understand why they did things the way that they did them. If they hadn’t told the group ahead of time that someone would get a chance to redo a portion of the test, it would have made Comfort look EXTREMELY suspicious. But still...I think it would have been better to just not give her the red screen. And yes, I know that means no Delorean, no baby pictures, no shift in the group atmosphere. Mole producers of the world, if you are reading this: STOP giving moles red screens!! Please!
But, all of that aside...I agree that this episode was very enjoyable. I LOVED the building with all of the different environments! Very cool! And Toos was adorable as a cactus news reporter. This has been such a fun season, and much more suspenseful than WIDM 23. I still have not quite recovered from the Thomas elimination! Thomas and Comfort were tied for my top suspect after episode 3. So technically...it was Comfort’s red screen that pushed me into the Thomas tunnel. Grrrrr...
Anyway, thank you Julie for another great video! Looking forward to next week 🙂

I have it on good authority that the DeLorean task was played completely fairly (I know someone who went to the finale and got to interview Gilles himself), so hopefully that will assuage some concerns. I'm pretty sure it'll get covered in full detail in the reunion too, so I'd hold onto the final judgment until after. I was actually reasonably confident Comfort wasn't the mole when they revealed the mole's score was 6/20 in that test. I thought, surely that wasn't a low enough score to earn a red screen (I've seen scores as low as 1/20 in final 5 in this show, so 6/20 didn't seem low enough, especially when you know Leila and Toos at least went all-in on this test).
I still remember rolling my eyes at the beginning of episode 5, when Lancelot was saying that he still suspects Comfort. All I thought was, 'Comfort definitely isn't the mole, and this guy is doing a terrible job of making her seem suspicious. If Thomas wasn't the mole, I'd start suspecting Lancelot.' Jeez, what a roller coaster ride this season has been!

@@thefuzzyoranges Maybe this comment does not make any sense anymore after tonight's episode in which they'll hopefully tell us a bit more about the red screen but I just have to say it: What annoys me the most about this whole situation is that Gilles told the candidates about the possibility to re-do the test. He even encouraged them to take a risk. And this is the point (for me) where it gets unfair as soon as the mole participates and tries to get the lowest score which means no chance at all to re-do anything for the candidates. Yes, Leila had the lowest score and was the right person to go home but she went all in. Maybe she wouldn't have done that without Gilles encouraging them to?
Long story short: The red screen itself isn't the biggest problem in this case in my opinion but the way the team decided to announce the situation is.
