Underrated.

"Are ya romanticizing your melancholy, son?"
You:

*Opens door*
Dad: "Are ya winning son?"
Son: "I wish I didn't. I really do.
-I won, but it feels like there is less of me than there was before. Or did 'me' never exist to begin with, and have I merely peeled the lies off my bones?"
"Relaxing"
but seriously, gorgeous playlist. Cannot get this tragic-ass game outta my head even though I'm pretty sure I STILL don't get it after two full plays and the secret ending
Man I am sure this game have something wrong with it, the same effect happened to me and my friend when we played it. Maybe the frequency in the music mess with the subconscious of the player and the story itself is hard not to think about idk I am sure their is something wrong with this game.
i love this game. but the lore was a bit too much. a lot of filler documents to read. felt like a chore. this game is a1 though. 10/10
@@xCorzo650x I get where you're coming from (the documents make for a break in the gameplay that doesn't always suit the tense atmosphere,) but I coulda read that shit all day. The setting is rich enough that every sentence feels like it matters somehow.
Not to the GAMEPLAY, mind you ;D
@@dorkbot5000 well said, agreed. Signalis must be one of my favorite games. I beat it once on the Switch. what a game.
There's a 2 hour video with a in-depth explanation of the whole game. A must watch.
Sorta feels like the music that would start to play as your world falls apart around you.
i mean...
I mean.......
I mean.............

I'm glad this game gets a recognition it deserves.
still a bit underrated imo
It doesn't, way too underrated.
its still way too underrated and its pretty vexing that it hasnt won any awards so far
It's an all style no substance game which has no understanding of games it apes and isn't even scary. It couldn't fall off the radar sooner.
@@pitbul2877 damn thats crazy
Adlers theme really doesn't get enough appreciation, its got such a weirdly serene feeling to it.
Adler, Mynah, Orrery, Eulenlieder are all amazing ambients.
I love that the video title has “relaxing” in quotation marks.
Ariane's Theme is emotionally devastating. the core riff/motif heard in Die Toteninsel is made even more impactful by the washed out ambience and distant, flickering notes, fading away into nothing. so dark, so wistful, so sad, so sweet.
A lot of the soundtrack is like that, where paying attention to the leitmotifs can add meaning. Like Falke's theme having Ariane's theme reversed in it, I think to symbolize how while she almost understands what's happening and what Ariane wants, she ultimately completely misunderstands and goes in the opposite direction.
This really stabilizes my persona.
yet another instance where a soundtrack has enthralled my interest in a game I've not heard of
Definitely play it. I haven't been enthralled in a game in years, and this game broke that trend. The soundtrack, the narrative themes, the tone, the gameplay, and the art, all of it is fantastic imo.
Yeah this happened to me too. Seconding lif6737, it is now my favorite videogame narrative and up there with my favorite non-videogame stories as well.
Play this with no spoilers or external interference, genuinely one of the best experiences I've had just figuring out a game alone
Did you end up playing it?
i literally slept to this and woke up SCARED AS HAIL
Probably the best ost for BLAME! reading
MNHR is so pretty. Theres so much feeling in that track to me
wow cicada sirens! worked with him for the soundtrack of my first games, even included some of the same songs years before, what a pleasant surprise.
Thanks for putting this beautiful music together. Just had an absolute trip listening to this alone in a dark sauna. Just breathing, sweating, feeling so alive and still vibing out to the beautiful hopelessness of these songs
true finnish combo
Be careful not to stay too long in a Sauna! it can be dangerous.
@@VocalMabiMaplewould be a shame if someone came in there to fulfill their promise
I want to forget this game just to play it again and had that feeling of the first time playing it all night totally inmersive in the hystory and world
The OST of SIGNALIS is so beautiful!
Signalis is beautiful
Как же ты прав. Одна из моих любимейших игр в эмоциональном плане
@@slava_Haositam абсолютно солидарен
Thank you for taking the time to do this. I will listen it from time to time.
Damn I've just discovered "MNHR" here and it's actually chill and relaxing. Sounds like you're in some fantastic unreal place. It's really sad not full soundtrack was in the game.
This game is a total masterpiece.
I don't know why but this music is melancholic and comforting at the same time 😲
its deeply soothing, like receiving a message in the cold tundra
Thank you so much for this!!! The OST is so beautiful, this was a brilliant idea, and I'll probably have this on all the time now lol
I've listened to this a lot but Turned Around is just such a terrifying track to start with
"relaxing"
also me : bawling at half on these
I like the OST but RELAXING wouldn't be the first thing that comes to mind from the first track lol
I do not recommend listening to this if you are in a foul mood or experiencing anxiety.
Well when I in a foul mood or experiencing anxiety, I'm just like "I need to listen Signalis ost fking immediately" 🥲
@@kvelar1036 same
I do.
ngl listening to this really helps me focus on my calculus
Thanks so much for compiling this. Wonderful to vibe out to while writing up a video script for this very game :)
Such a beautiful soundtrack.
unironically after beating the game i feel relaxed when safe room comes on, muscle memory?
Yep
The actually relaxing tracks in my opinion are:
Ritual
MNHR
Adler
Eulenlieder
Orrery
Ewige Wiederkunft
Red Gate
Die Toteninsel (Emptiness)
Home
Airane's Theme
Falke's Theme
at least if you're looking for some tranquility and less eerie or mysterious parts of the soundtrack
Train Ride (10:37), I'd say, is also a really chill, mellow track
Bro Falke's theme is straight up nightmare fuel for me 😖
@@lBorosDavidl nice pfp
this music gives me memories ive never had
we makin it out of Rotfront with this one
idk the game but I remember a video about a painting that looked like this. A lady liked it and requested the initial artist place a woman and a skeleton on the boat since her husband had recently died. The island was never meant to symbolize anything, but obervers years later would see the skeleton figure and connect the island to limbo or the afterlife. It's a interesting story of how one tiny detail can change a whole audiences interpretation of a piece of media for generations. Aside from that, this music is as relaxing as sliding down a cheeze grater dick first, cheers!
Arnold Bocklin.
The painting is called Isle of the Dead though
Phenomenal comment
i like to study while listening to this ost, it feels like i'm doing something, and it means something, and i can't remember it, so i keep going till i actually remember.
Do not listen to this after smoking the weed that makes you scared
💀
Challenge accepted
But what if *definitely* do that?
-person who would get high and listen to Iowa by Slipknot to relax
ah yes...
i love ruminating on the terror of being alive.
Eulinder is absolutely great. I'm getting this game lol
12 days later, I hope you did and I hope you liked it!
we should get an equivalent playlist that's the not-relaxing-at-all music back to back
"Action" Music
I have nightmares upon hearing the track that plays during the meat world boss
I've spent like a month sleeping to this unironically
Thank you for the playlist, this game soundtrack is amazing
its such a beautiful game
Dir En Grey vibes and I am *here* for it.
Right on! Thanks for sharing
ASTONISHING WORK, GENOSSIN!!!
Absolutely fantastic
Feels like back home in silent hill
Sea Smoke being in the middle is about the most intentional part of this mix.
It is only game i like, but dont want to replay.
as a fellow Colin I approve this playlist
de los mejores OST qué he escuchado...
What a beautiful, sad, and existential title. Past the 80's cassette futurist anime aesthetic and Resident Evil gameplay is a story about cycles, tragic romances, and psychological concepts relating to identity, memories, and uncertainty about reality.
Die Toteninsel, i love that painting
The first note of Double Back having the same pitch as the first note in the Three Note Oddity messes me up for reasons i am not privy to
"The Promise" reminds me of another song named Tears from Heaven by John Fleming and a specific part of "Tears from Heaven" being 1:47. Just listened to "The Promise" and it gave me one big nostalgic feeling
*sigh* alright I’ll replay signalis again
Much obliged sir/sirette
57:55 That's Raindrop Prelude by David Chopin aka the Halo 3 Believe music
damn skippy, good old days
27:00 , сохраню для следующей ночной прогулки
8:38 wow so Cyberpunk this part xd
From the start I feel family warm cozy dinner vibe, really relaxing, nice vid
Realmente es hermosa
Great sounds to drown in Lovecraft's words.
time to play again
don,t know what you guys are on about, this music made my brain sad. i don't dislike it.
causal loop goes hard
Cigy wife lowers my heartrate
Painting is art by Arnold Böcklin.
As soon as I saw the Isle of the dead on preview, I clicked expecting to hear Rachmaninoff's symphonic poem of the same name, lmao
This painting haunts me.
I like this, don't get me wrong, but it is about as "relaxing" as a haunted house.
I wondered why 'relaxing' was in quotes...
👍👍🏻👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿
Isle of the dead, this my favorite painting. Is it connected to the game I wonder? Either way, Im going to play signalis.
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
Lets just say the game has alot of motiffs and symbolisms that'll make you scratch your head
Did you play it? If so, what did you think?
@@LokiFops couldnt find the time yet unfortunately.
@djinn6720 my brother in [REDACTED], is that a King in Yellow avatar? If so, did you actually play the game yet? If that is and you haven't yet that is some hilariously strong synchronicity.
It feels minecrafty
Name of the painting please?
The painting is called Isle of the Dead (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_of_the_Dead_(painting) )
@@dark_nation_7 Man, this game's symbolism is just phenomenal.
@@dark_nation_7 I should remember this! It was one of my favorite paintings to learn about in college next to "Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch
This is low-key scary
Bro
@@alloy299sis
i wonder whats the difference between this video and the original soundtrack vid of the developers? the original soundtrack vid is 40 mins longer so ig this one has a few tracks removed?
All of the combat music and more percussive/industrial tracks were removed, but the order of the tracks is the same.
"Relaxing?" I mean, I suppose whatever happens on the isle of the dead counts as relaxing in some fun way.
Signamarink
Why is there a crosshair on this painting?
its a screenshot of the game
I'm scared... why are there quotation marks there?
Nice addition to my sex playlist
No incinerator music? Fail
not very relaxing..to many volume varibles and tone shifts
